OK, so I just realized I don't know what baby oil is. Thank you Google, it's just scented mineral oil? So, hypothetically, plain ole mineral oil should have the same effect on sunburns? Any ideas about sunburn combined with poisen oak?

ugh, did you really manage to get both? suck! i don't know much about poison oak, other than the rash is caused by an oil from the plants, so putting more oil on there would probably not help...

but yeah, plain old mineral oil would probably be fine on sunburns - I always say the simpler the better, and the scents in some baby oils are totally unnecessary and possibly even detrimental.

yeah, I managed to get both. The sunburn is actually not so bad, it never got to peeling, but the poison oak just keeps getting worse (though it too is far from the worst I've had). Both of the skin nastynesses were worth it though, for the hike; I hiked up a creek to where it goes into a ravine, like 5 feet wide and maybe 50 feet high. I'd seen it from the top of the ravine when I was a kid, and always wanted to see it from the bottom.

This was the goal of the hike (horizontally stretched, I need to figure out how to make YouTube not do that):
