Skateboarding as protection from aging

This whole hipster skateboarding explosion has really hit something home to me that's probably really obvious, but whatever: the fact that all us GenXers can't get over the fact that we're growing up. Complaining about last decade's skateboard injuries that our bodies weren't flexible enough to heal from.

I know what it is for me as I go through my mid-life crisis, it seems to be younger (20 something) girls. I wouldn't put it past the females I know to go after younger guys either.

Hey! I'm forty and still skating. Never stopped! (Unless you count the recovery time following my motorcycle accident.) My legs definitely look youthful, now that you mention it... Hmm...maybe I'll go start that grunge band now...

Easy; we'll be sitting around in candle-lit rooms listening to the Cure and applying lots of eyeliner. And going to goth clubs.
