I did something like that before. My night class of acting ended and it was a huge downpour, like the streets were flooding and everything... I didn't feel like waiting for a bus. I was dressed in a trenchcoat and fedora, it was the perfect gear! So more than two miles later, I was completely soaked since the flooded streets were ideal for cars splashing me. No buses came either until I was at my steps. That night, I was the only person on the street at all.
If each stupid act is an accomplishment then my life story is mega triumph.
I think it gives us a sense of a relief that we have control over SOMETHING in our lives, particularly when everything seems to be going wrong.
I drove from Asheville to Chapel Hill (3+ hours) in the pouring rain in a convertible with the top down once. It just felt nice to do what I wanted, and pretty much tell everyone to fuck off.
I've done many more such things... all very liberating.
sorry....I've got you beat....

I REGULARLY walk home in the rain barefoot. I have no desire to get one of few pairs of sandals/shoes wet and ruined. When I get off the subway, if it's raining, my footwear gets stashed in my backpack, I hitch up my skirt/dress or roll up my pant legs and merrily make my way through the rain, purposely walking through as many puddles as possible.
Did I mention I live in Seoul and pass literally hundreds of people every time? ^_^ Yeah, they all think I'm mad, but I'm not the one with ruined shoes and wet clothes.

Also, if it rained here more, I would probably walk around barefoot too. Sometimes the best things in life are the stupidest-looking.
