I have a strange question.

In America/Canada etc., there are certain common dog-specific names.  Things like Rover and Rex.  What do people in other countries commonly name their dogs?  I've googled around and haven't found anything really useful, although I've found lots of lists of common dog names in English.

I also found a list for Japan.

My Japanese aunt named her dog Momo.

My dad calls my dog "Teufelhund" which is "devil dog" in German. ;) It's a term of endearment, trust me. (He used to call me "Scheißekopf," which means "shithead.")

Both would be interesting names for a dog, I think. Though, I doubt they're very popular in Germany.

Bello
Wuffi
Hasso (mainly for german shepards)
Waldi (mainly for dachshunds)
