Pookie!

So...I'm working on a cello in class...we're making nuts for them. It has a silly name...so i decided to make a photo thingy on the stages of making a new nut for Pookie the cello. Then Pookie will be able to have strings...
Also: Mission Violin  has some cool updates :-)

That's Pookie the cello

Step one of making a cello nut: get a piece of ebony

Step 2 or so: is planing it perfectly flat and square so it fits against the fingerboard. Then you fit the sides so they match the shape of the peg box.

Then...around step 7 or so...you trace the shape of the fingerboard, you sand it, then you file it, so it sticks up 1.5 mm on the c string side (the left side) above the fingerboard, and then on the right side (a string) it is .75 mm above...

And when it is fit to match the dies and it is to the right dimensions, it looks kinda like that...there's still a few more steps left...but, that's Pookie so far.

Pardon my randomness...
