Amen to that, Cate! I will go to the other post to tell you about the Roger Waters show (I threw my back out pretty seriously and have not been able to do much besides work).
Thank you, Renee! Marty is doing great. He got shot in his left(?) tibia after being ambushed at night by Al-quaida who stole Afghani police uniforms and police veh. to get through the checkpoint (he and his battalion are training the Afghani police forces. He got several of his guys out (on the broken leg) and was able to get away after grenades were thrown at him. His shrapnel wounds were minimal. marty is home now, on a few weeks R&R. He will have to go back to finish recovery in N.C. They say he will be back at work sooner than if he had completed his tour w/o incident. He will be able to stay in the Army Reserves, but won't be going back into combat. I'm next to be reinstated as sergeant, so you can imagine how happy I am he made it back. You can imagine how I would have felt if he hadn't and I think my employers know it too. It would have been beyond awful. Look for a new message f/ me. I tried to get several out over the winter, but all my I.T. services SUCKED.
Marty is home right now, I will be going to visit him soon. I'm sure he will mercilessly poke fun at me for dragging everyone to see Dark Shadows. Surprisingly though, he doesn't poke fun at me for admiring GR (as everyone else at work did for over 10 years). I think he has the same sort of respect I do for the success and way Mr. Rush packaged himself at his age.
