River was already there, as it was her room too and she had taken some time to dress upp nicely.

"Happy birthday!" she said cheerfully and two packages appeared from out of the wardrobe.

Buffy opened the packages and beamed. "Aw, that's so sweet! A stake! Thank you!" She reached out to hug River.

Mel showed up, however her clothes were of the ripped t-shirt and tight jeans variety. "Hey, Buff. Happy birthday, she said handing over her gift or two.

"Hey Mel," Buffy smiled. "Thank you!" She opened her presents and grinned. "They are so pretty! And useful!"

She tried to put on her necklace right away.

Molly arrived and gave Buffy a funny handwavey card with a gift certificate to IKEA inside.

"Happy birthday, Buffy!" she said and gave her a big hug.

Alec showed up with a box, though he still hadn't gotten the hang of gift-wrapping. He hoped Buffy would like her gifts anyway.
