I miss British humour

not surprising, considering that the english we speak/write in india is very english!

and it's maybe because you live in america that you even noticed that thing! i mean, i read it, had a laugh and moved on. i mena it was so "natural"

If Mr.bean is any representative of British humour then i believe you aren't missing much, though there is a lot of irony in the slapstick humour he indulges in.
I believe the last british comedy i saw was coupling, which was pretty much like friends. Though i do believe the Kumars do try hard at intelligent comedy.
Advice: Pick up a P.G wodehouse (probably a Jeeves) for some good old English gentleman's humour.
