Title: Give Her Your Heart
Rating: T
Notes:...it's not in order
01 - Walking
The first time they see each other in eons begins and ends with screaming, accusations about him leaving and rebuttals about her trying to kill him.
02 - Waltz
Theirs is a complicated sequence of steps, with sudden twirls and dark twists, and stepping on toes on purpose, and yet always coming back to each other, hands placed just so, eyes locked.
03 - Wishes
Ravenna wants nothing more than to have never met him, because then her heart would still be her own.
04 - Wonder
If she kills him, really and truly stops his breath and robs the heat from his body, if he dies, would she mourn?
05 - Worry
He wakes and feels her weight on top of him, feels the tip of steel teasing the skin of his neck, and asks, carefully, “Darling?”
06 - Whimsy
She rarely initiates any touch, but in a rare fit of sentimentality, she lays her hand over his, briefly.
07 - Waste/Wasteland
He has wrapped her in his finest cape lined in thick fur for this journey, her face beautiful, and harsh, and as cold as this realm of his birth that she declares to be wretched and perfect.
08 - Whiskey and rum
It burns, pools in his belly, the way she looks at him.
09 - War
She knows enough about it to be bored by it.
10 - Weddings
He is a prince so an official union is required by Asgardian court, it must be an event, but she keeps pushing it further and further back until nearly a century has passed, and one day they are literally ambushed when they walk into the throne room, and surprise, it's your wedding day.
11 - Birthday
It had been a difficult spell, cast so long ago he'd nearly forgotten, but he'd never told her the way to break the curse she thought a blessing and free herself, no matter how she prompted for her gift.
12 - Blessing
She slept, as Snow slept, and waited, like the winter for spring, for a touch, a caress of warmth to wake her, a bit of tender affection.
13 - Bias
She is the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen, of course.
14 - Burning
He can’t touch her without feeling it, little flames at his fingertips that race up his arm, and he can’t help but touch her.
15 - Breathing
He is gone, he’s left, and she can’t find him, and she screams, voice ringing through golden, vaulted halls, until her voice cracks, leaves her gasping.
16 - Breaking
He’s broken, jagged and torn up pieces patched together with fragile, silk stitches, but she stays by his side because she knows something about breaking.
17 - Belief
They think she is mad, which is true, but she is beautiful and clever and dangerous so the court conveniently forgets until there is an incident and then they are reminded.
18 - Balloon
He hears her first, the unmistakable whisper of her skirts, and opening his eyes, he sees her looking down at him as she slowly kneels, some emotion swelling in his chest when she touches his brow, fingers tracing down to the muzzle, and he waits for a word that will sink or buoy him.
19 - Balcony
Some nights, he wakes alone and goes to the balcony where he sees her in the garden, picking flowers and shredding the petals.
20 - Bane
No, she does not want children, she says horrified, disgusted, and presses a hand over her taut, flat belly.
21 - Quiet
Ravenna does not suffer fools quietly, and he gets far too much amusement watching her loose her temper on the terrified servants.
22 - Quirks
They don't speak about her beauty habits, he just occasionally checks on the milk cows and ensures that her bird cages remain well stocked, and she just gives him looks.
23 - Question
She asks if he loves her or her beauty, like she doesn't know, and when he answers, she doesn't believe him.
24 - Quarrel
Ravenna and Thor don't always get along, and Loki often makes sure of it because they are infinitely more amusing when they are are yelling at each, and equally frightening when working together.
25 - Quitting
He gives a golden apple, to grant her the same longevity he possesses, but she's long since no linger needed outside remedies.
26 - Jump
He catches her eye that first time because he tries not to, weaving shadows around himself and subtle reflections, and she recognizes something in him that she sees in herself, and her heart does a little lurch.
27 - Jester
Fandral, unlike Loki, is not Ravenna's husband, so he does not warrant a warning before she loses patience at his jokes and flirtations.
28 - Jousting
The champion rides before her, bowing from his mount, but she is distracted by Loki, calloused fingers caressing her hand.
29 - Jewel
She is precious, refined, gorgeous, and expects to be treated as such; Loki does not disappoint.
30 - Just
Ravenna has her own scale of justice, often largely disproportionate to the offense, but the opinions of others are never well tolerated, and her army reduces the SHIELD stronghold to its foundation.
31 - Smirk
She takes the form of one of them and files along with the rest inside the compound where he is, and when she sees Thor, she can't help the quirk of her lips or the rage.
32 - Sorrow
Ravenna wants to carve out Loki's heart sometimes, so he'll know what he does to her.
33 - Stupidity
She curses herself daily for whatever idiocy that induced her to succumb to this man.
34 - Serenade
Once, he sang to her, and she looked at him as though he were a lunatic and locked him out of her chambers, but in his defense, then he had not been very sober and it was one of the bawdy songs Thor and Fandral taught him.
35 - Sarcasm
He is in possession of a somewhat perverted sense of humor no one is safe from and he drops compliments as easily as the rain, long dissertations on her beauty, the elegance of her form, the grace of her movements, but when he goes on about the way she holds her fork, she tells him to shut up.
36 - Sordid
She looks him in the eye, possessed by some manic light that radiates from within, and lifts a hand, asking, "Do you mind the blood?"
37 - Soliloquy
You are lovely, in form and face, pale and dark, eyes that snap like stars cast wide across galaxies and in thine gaze, I see as if into a pool, into a mirror I look, and I see you and I see beauty.
38 - Sojourn
In truth, she doesn't die, only sleeps for many years, and he invades her restless dreams, so she attacks him and runs, when he wakes her up, to the sea and takes flight as a bird, and she doesn't know where she's going.
39 - Share
Thor takes Loki on quests, and Ravenna doesn't go because she has no interest in dragon's eggs, and she honestly hate Thor for his prior claim.
40 - Solitary
She doesn't do well, on her own with long memories and thoughts.
41 - Nowhere
She doesn't know where she's going until she's there in a valley of scorched, salted earth where once there was a village and a girl lived there with her mother and brother, and they might have been happy.
42 - Neutral
Thor's friends don't like her, but she doesn't even pretend to care, and Loki is perversely delighted.
43 - Nuance
He has a way of speaking, telling stories true or imagined, that catches her attention and makes her look.
44 - Near
On her knees, she bends close to his ear, and he feels her hot breath as she whispers, "They cannot have you."
45 - Natural
She honestly tries to kill him when he hides her face powders and lip rouge.
46 - Horizon
At the edge of the shattered bridge, she watches by Heimdall’s side as Loki is brought low into madness
47 - Valiant
Ravenna looks past their weapons and hard stares to the man who commands, saying, "I'm going to take my husband now, and if you don't get out of my way, I will move you."
48 - Virtuous
Loki is patient and kind and understanding, and Ravenna is beautiful.
49 - Victory
You are mine.
50 - Defeat
I need you.
