Fandom: Farscape
Pairing: John Crichton x Scorpius
Theme set: Gamma
Rating: R for bad words, sexual references, torture references and semi-cannibalism.
None of these are connected. Go elsewhere for that thing called 'plot' or 'coherency'. There are some spoilers for pretty much the whole show, but they're tiny ones, I swear.
#01 - Ring In John's dream, the phone rings, and the particular resonance of the sound (not a friendly ringring but something more like the clickhiss of a bullet sliding into place) tells him exactly who's on the other end.
#02 - Hero "You are no hero," Scorpius says, with a smirk, "that would make me the villain, and I cannot quite see that dynamic."
#03 - Memory He'll never forget the taste of John's grey matter on his tongue, and the happy knowledge that in a very real way, he was eating his memories.
#04 - Box In the black box of John's subconscious Scorpius had planted his own imprint, like a virus.
#05 - Run "You cannot run from me forever," he says, calmly, and John grins at him and says "Like hell."
#06 - Hurricane John tries to be the calm eye at the centre of the hurricane, but some things (low murmur, black laugh, glinting eye) rocket him right to the howling edge.
#07 - Wings There is only one time that he can truly forget the grinning shadow at his heels, and that's to escape on the wings of flight, careening through space, the only sound his hoots of joy.
#08 - Cold "You're cold," John murmurs, "I didn't think you would be cold," but then remembers suddenly that cold is what keeps him alive.
#09 - Red He sees red when he sees him, a thousand shades, from the faded fire-engine red of old rage to the deep crimson of inexplicable need.
#10 - Drink Scorpie would drive him to drink, he thinks balefully, if he could find something that tasted more like beer and less like fermented bunny-piss in the Uncharted Territories.
#11 - Midnight Scorpius never was quite at home on a planet, on a place with actual time, with the rise of day and night; he was happiest in the permanent midnight of interstellar space.
#12 - Temptation There were times - just a few - when John Crichton was in the Aurora Chair that Scorpius inexplicably wanted to comfort him, and he forced himself turn the intensity up by another notch every time it happened.
#13 - View "Like the view?" he hisses at his captor and goes all cold when the half-Scarran murmurs "Oh, yes."
#14 - Music "Hey, Scorpie, you like that ol' time rock and roll?" he says, then
turns and is startled out of any jokes: Scorpius' eyes are closed and he's taking in the tinny music like a man having a revelation.
#15 - Silk "My nemesis," he drawls in a silky voice - only Scorpius could make an endearment out of it.
#16 - Cover "Cover me," he whispers, and slinks ahead, dully amazed that he trusts the half-Scarran behind him not to shoot him in the back.
#17 - Promise "If you truly wish I will leave," Scorpius says, and John barks laughter and asks "You promise?"
#18 - Dream John still dreams he's running from Scorpius long after he'd been caught.
#19 - Candle John stares at the candle and when he thinks of him he passes his fingers through the flame, wincing, remembering that old movie - the trick is not to mind, was it?
#20 - Talent "You have a talent for infuriating me," Scorpius hisses, his hand on John's throat, driven to further lengths of rage by the laughing response.
#21 - Silence It's best when there's silence between them; they sit together, side by side, tinkering and plotting out theories and a quiet sort of peace settles where words only bring conflict.
#22 - Journey "Frell this final frontier," John mutters, and Scorpius laughs at him - he knows John too well, knows the journey is his life.
#23 - Fire The twin suns beat down like fire on them; most of them exult in the brightness, but Scorpius slinks behind and John can't help but feel a little nasty glee at his discomfort.
#24 - Strength John never admitted it, but the thing he admired most was strength: Aeryn's toughness, Zhaan's resolve, Chiana's resilience, and in the end even Scorpius' bleak and merciless drive.
#25 - Mask He wears his indifference like a mask that John can rip right off, with just the right glance.
#26 - Ice There's ice in his head to keep him living, and ice in his heart to keep him - to keep him sane, he reminds himself, because for him to want warmth is suicidal insanity.
#27 - Fall "I wouldn't cry if you fell off a damn cliff," John snarled at him; he doesn't quite know how to respond when Scorpius nods and says "Neither would I," in an infuriatingly neutral tone.
#28 - Forgotten John had tried to be noticed all his life, but now those cold eyes were on him he'd love to be forgotten.
#29 - Dance "Hate," he says slowly, "is too simple a word for what lies between us - don't you think, John? Stop dancing around the truth of it."
#30 - Body He never gets to see Scorpius entirely naked, only parts of his body - the rest stays wrapped up tight, like his inscrutable mind tick-tocking away behind his naked eyes.
#31 - Sacred Zhaan told him once that sex was sacred, that touch itself was a sacrament - well, he thinks, every god has its devil, right?
#32 - Farewells "It would be better if I never saw you again," he says, and that's goodbye enough, and true, but they're empty words - he knows he'll come back.
#33 - World Sometimes John still thinks Scorpius only wants him as a window into a new world to conquer.
#34 - Formal "So what's Scarran formal wear?" John asks him, and Scorpius smirks and says "As for me, John, I am afraid I only have one outfit to choose from."
#35 - Fever "I'm sick," John whispers to the mirror, eyes half slipping to the black-clad form reclining on his bed, "I'm sick, I've got the brain fever and I've finally gone mad"
#36 - Laugh Scorpius laughs like he doesn't quite know how, and it drives John crazy with irritation.
#37 - Lies "I'm not afraid of you anymore," he lies, and knows he is found out by the laughter on those corpse-pale lips.
#38 - Forever "I can make a moment last forever, believe me," and John believes him, hating his fear.
#39 - Overwhelmed "Oh, man," he says to himself, not stopping the advance of Scorpius' gloved fingers, "I'm in the guano now."
#40 - Whisper "Do you honestly think I care" he whispers to John, "what your moral judgements of me are?"
#41 - Wait "I can wait forever," he says, and John shivers - he would, too, the patient bastard.
#42 - Talk "We should talk, Scorpie," John says, and almost bursts into crazy laughter at the sheer Oprah-ism of it.
#43 - Search "Do you know," he whispers between sharp teeth, "how much it has cost me to find you?"
#44 - Hope "I am not naive enough to hope for forgiveness," he says to John, under his breath, "but perhaps I can hope for -" but the words die down like a crushed glow-worm under the dead weight of John's blue-eyed stare.
#45 - Eclipse It's funny, he thinks - and by 'funny' John means 'not funny at all' - how Scorpius walks into a room like an eclipse, blotting all the light out with his own gladly-worn darkness.
#46 - Gravity He reflects on how they were pulled together, driven by some strange gravity, and shakes his head in irritation; Scorpius does not like to be driven by something other than his choice.
#47 - Highway "You're my own personal highway to hell, aren't you?" he says, almost cheery in the face of his own total fuckedness.
#48 - Unknown He had read somewhere that humans (his glorious, clueless, fucked-up species!) both desires and feared the unknown; he'd like to punch the guy that wrote it.
#49 - Lock "What are you going to do," John asks with an unsteady grin, half-afraid of the answer, "lock me up and throw away the key?"
#50 - Breathe The alien breath in his ear is too warm, and smells strange - smells inhuman - and it makes him squirm and jolts him out of sleep.
