Fandom: Final Fantasy VIII
Pairing: Squall Leonhart x Original Character (Jordan Summer)
Theme set: Alpha
Rating: R at the highest, I think
Notes: Squall and Jordan are from a roleplay involving me and the lovely candywrapper. She was quite eager to see me claim Squall and Jordan here, so I decided I would. (: These sentences also contain references to crossdressing and to a relationship between Squall and Seifer Almasy.

Squall met Jordan when he was fourteen. At the time, he was starting his rivalry with Seifer, who often caused fights, and he was also experimenting with crossdressing. He met Jordan, who was about twenty at the time, in Deling City, not very sure what to do with himself, and Jordan helped him out. The two gradually created a relationship which lasted up until Squall became Commander, when they separated with no hard feelings because of the demands of Squall's job. Squall later met up with Seifer, after leaving Garden, at a party where he was, again, crossdressing. They quickly formed a very sexual relationship, and although they did love each other, broke up because of Seifer's jealousy over Squall's remaining relationship with Jordan. Squall then went back to Jordan, who was only too happy to take him back.

#01 - Comfort

Jordan wasn't a mercenary, and in fact, he kept away from fighting as much as he could, but he saw through Squall the evils of war -- the tired, tired look on his face when he arrived to say that he no longer had enough time -- and although Squall was basically telling him they couldn't be together any more, all he wanted to do was hold Squall close.

#02 - Kiss

Their first kiss was almost nothing, from Jordan's point of view -- Squall got off the train, carrying his bag, and hurried over to him with a shy smile breaking over his face, and Jordan kissed him then, lightly -- but to Squall the soft, soft touch was one of the nicest things he had ever felt.

#03 - Soft

In Garden, there was nothing soft -- there was Almasy, always wanting to fight, shoving you around, and there were rough examinations in the infirmary from Doctor Kadowaki with her ungentle touch, and there wasn't much touching, other than that -- so Squall craved Jordan, always, the soft touches when he brushed his hair back, soft kisses, and his warm embraces.

#04 - Pain

Jordan hated it when Squall arrived hurt, bearing wounds -- small ones, most of the time, except the time when he came, a mass of bruises, barely able to walk -- and he hated the guy who caused him such pain, but there wasn't much he could do about it.

#05 - Potatoes

When Squall arrived, he liked to sit in the warm kitchen and watch Jordan make dinner for them both, and sometimes he would close his eyes and almost drift off, soothed by the sounds of Jordan trying to chop potatoes up quietly.

#06 - Rain

Jordan held the umbrella over Squall's head, laughing at the sulky expression on his face as smoothed out his wet skirt, and even sulking and slightly damp, he looked stunning.

#07 - Chocolate

Squall lay back, quiet and comfortable and still slightly startled at all that Jordan had done, and tasted the last traces of sticky chocolate on Jordan's lips when the older man moved, with a smile for his dazed look, to kiss him softly.

#08 - Happiness

Squall realised, pressing close to Jordan and burying his face in his shoulder, that he hadn't been truly happy in a long while -- he'd found no happiness with Seifer, just the satisfaction of sex, and before that there'd been nothing -- not since that day two days before the field exam when he'd last properly been with Jordan.

#09 - Telephone

Squall didn't call often, and when he did, it was trouble -- listening to his voice, wavering only slightly, the waver perhaps explained away by the dodgy connection, Jordan was full of panic for his younger boyfriend, wondering what that Almasy had done to him now.

#10 - Ears

It was Jordan who discovered how sensitive Squall's ears were, and after that he loved to exploit it, bending down to lightly kiss his neck, nuzzling at his ear until he shivered and made a soft contented sound.

#11 - Name

Jordan's surname, Squall realised, was perfectly appropriate -- Jordan Summer -- because he was warm, and seemed to last forever, always the same, like one hazy summer Squall remembered from when he was a child.

#12 - Sensual

Squall was nothing short of stunning in a tiny black dress, and though he was always that shy, sweet kid to Jordan, there was something sensual about the glitter of his eyes and the curve of his smile that sent shivers through Jordan every time.

#13 - Death

Seeing Squall with that man, with Almasy, made him hurt like he hadn't in a long time -- Almasy, the one who had hurt Squall, who now had an arm wrapped around his waist like the most natural thing in the world -- and although he felt like he was dying inside, from worry and, yes, jealousy, he smiled at Seifer and tried to be happy for his former lover.

#14 - Sex

Jordan was reluctant to have sex with Squall, not because he didn't want him -- fuck, who could not want him, especially when he was dressed up and more gorgeous than anyone else in the room? -- but because Squall's shyness to ask reminded him how very young Squall was compared to him.

#15 - Touch

He'd had boyfriends before, but none quite like Squall, whose touches were soft and maybe a little shy, but determined and needy and maybe even desperate, but that only convinced him more that Squall was perfect for him.

#16 - Weakness

It was Jordan who came in between Seifer and Squall, and it wasn't even because he wanted to; he'd've liked nothing better than for Squall to be happy with Seifer, who had hurt him so much before -- it was Jordan, because even if he swore to himself he wouldn't, Jordan was Squall's weakness and when they met, he would kiss him, just because he could, and would press close to be held for a few moments, because Jordan was what Seifer wasn't.

#17 - Tears

Seifer didn't cry over Squall, but he didn't let him go easily, either -- but the one confrontation in that club, when Squall had been all pressed up against Jordan and he hadn't been able to stop himself, when Squall had stopped him from hitting Jordan and told him exactly why he loved Jordan more, that forced tears to his eyes for the first time in his life.

#18 - Speed

Squall wasn't being cruel or trying to twist the knife when he went straight to Jordan after breaking up with Seifer -- the speed at which he restarted his relationship with Jordan was just an indication of how much love they'd had, and always would have.

#19 - Wind

A quick gust of wind lifted Squall's skirt, and Jordan pulled him close, quickly, holding the skirt down, laughing and whispering into his ear that he was the only one who got to see what Squall looked like beneath the skirt.

#20 - Freedom

A single life allowed you to be free, Jordan's friends reminded him, but with Squall gone, it didn't feel like freedom -- it was Squall who made him smile, it was Squall who made the endless parade of parties actually fun, and Jordan thought anybody who would rather be single than dating someone like Squall had to be mad.

#21 - Life

From when he was fourteen years old, Squall was quietly determined to stay with Jordan his entire life, and though he never voiced it, he was almost glad when things didn't work out with Seifer, because Jordan was ready, had always been ready, to take him back and make that dream come true.

#22 - Jealousy

Seifer held Squall tightly once Jordan had gone, well aware that he could never compete with that friendship, burning with jealousy over the quick, casual way that Squall had kissed Jordan, the way that Jordan had called him 'baby', and although he knew that Squall loved him, he couldn't get over the way he'd clung to Jordan in farewell, the lingering embrace both had been slow to end.

#23 - Hands

Squall's hands were often rough and sore from his gunblade when he arrived, but Jordan's touch, he said, was like magic, working a soothing cream into his skin with a firm massage and making Squall moan in pleasure when a moment before he'd been cringing away from every touch to his hands.

#24 - Taste

On Squall's sixteenth birthday, Jordan took him out for a meal and a drink or two, and when they went to bed that night, curling together and kissing again and again, eager, sweet kisses, Squall tasted of alcohol and that taste, on him, was addicting and heady and Jordan thought he could almost get drunk on that alone.

#25 - Devotion

Squall wasn't really so devoted to his job as Commander that he wouldn't have quit it in a heartbeat for Jordan -- but he knew one thing about Jordan and that was that he would understand, if he was ever told, why Squall had to keep leading Garden to the end, and that in fact he'd be upset with Squall if he did quit.

#26 - Forever

When he was fifteen and they'd had sex for the first time, laying there with Jordan on top of him Squall was foolish enough to hope that the relationship would last forever -- Jordan knew the end was coming, knew it because Squall was able to spend less and less time with him because of his training already, but he never said a word and, when Squall asked, promised him forever anyway.

#27 - Blood

Jordan kissed Squall softly, tasting blood from his split lip, and hated Seifer for a moment -- he wasn't a fighter, didn't even have the first idea about gunblades, but he knew that if he ever got the chance, he'd know how to punch Seifer, for all he'd done to Squall.

#28 - Sickness

Squall wasn't one to think about marriage, and Jordan never mentioned it, but between them, after that first separation, there was an unspoken promise between them -- for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health...

#29 - Melody

If humans could be thought of as music, Squall and Jordan were two very different melodies -- yet woven together to make a harmony, they were perfect, with only a few discordant notes, here and there.

#30 - Star

Squall dressed up to surprise Jordan, once, bought a new dress and everything, and to see Jordan's expression you would have thought Squall was shining like a star -- Jordan was staring, dazed, blinded, at Squall, and he couldn't seem to move his eyes anywhere else.

#31 - Home

Home, Squall realised quickly, wasn't Garden -- from the day he'd met Jordan, it'd rapidly become that small home in Deling City, the feeling he got when he stepped off a train and Jordan was there to wrap an arm around him and kiss him hello.

#32 - Confusion

Seeing Jordan again, slipping away from Seifer for a moment to kiss Jordan and hug him tightly, Squall was thrown into confusion -- he did want Seifer, and always had, somewhere in the back of his mind, but his heart was what wanted Jordan and it wanted him so badly that it didn't feel like Seifer would ever be enough again.

#33 - Fear

Seifer was afraid of losing Squall to Jordan, but he thought of Jordan as 'that little squirt' and didn't fear it enough -- always, he'd treated Squall badly, and Squall had simply come back for more, and it never occured to him that one day, because of Jordan, he wouldn't.

#34 - Lightning/Thunder

When the storm started, Jordan expected Squall to stay in bed with him, always disinterested in anything else, but after a moment he felt Squall stir, wriggling out of his arms and slipping out of bed, going to the window to watch it.

#35 - Bonds

Jordan watched Squall with Seifer, when they didn't know he was there, and he noticed with some regret that Seifer had his arm so possessively around Squall that he might as well have been bound there -- he didn't blame Seifer, but he saw how trapped Squall was, and wished he could help him.

#36 - Market

Seifer was passing through the market of Deling City, looking for something to take back to Garden for Fujin, when he saw Squall; he would have gone over to him with a taunt or two, except then he saw that he was holding the hand of a taller, older guy, who while Seifer was watching leaned down to kiss Squall -- Seifer kept the information to himself, and, having decided that it would be beneath him to use it against Squall at any time, forgot it quickly.

#37 - Technology

Jordan was amazed that people had managed to make a weapon that was both a gun and a sword (it seemed useless technology to him, even), and he was still more amazed that Squall, who to him sometimes seemed so little and almost fragile, could wield it.

#38 - Gift

Over time, Jordan gave Squall many things, but with the pathetic allowance of a SeeD cadet, Squall never could get him much -- so when he did get Jordan something, Jordan treasured the gifts that much more for the fact that Squall had obviously given up something to give him it.

#39 - Smile

Squall (believing himself so worldly, even at the tender age of fourteen) never thought he'd see anyone with a smile that could make him go weak at the knees, but Jordan's smile didn't just do that, sometimes he was sure it was about to dissolve his knees and every other bone in his body.

#40 - Innocence

Squall was not innocent, a thing that Jordan had noticed almost immediately, and sometimes he felt sorry, because it felt sometimes like Squall had been born knowing that the world was a horrible place, in the end.

#41 - Completion

Jordan's life was good, and he'd be the first to admit it, but Squall filled a small niche in his life that had always been there, not needing to be filled to make him happy, and that small completing piece was enough to fill Jordan's life with peace and contentment.

#42 - Clouds

It was cloudy, the sky full of dark clouds full of rain, when Squall left Jordan's house, and he thought the weather appropriate, and wondered if Jordan would cry.

#43 - Sky

Squall's eyes were the colour of the sky, sometimes, grey-blue, or bright blue, and Jordan could never pin down exactly what, except he thought he might be able to forecast the weather using Squall's eyes.

#44 - Heaven

To be held by Jordan again was good, but it wasn't perfect, wasn't heaven, but Squall didn't mind.

#45 - Hell

"I'd walk through hell naked for you," Jordan said, his expression earnest, but his eyes laughing, and Squall laughed at the idea that Jordan would do anything for him because, well, he'd seen Jordan's attempts at a fight, and he wasn't even as good as Zell's first flailing attempts.

#46 - Sun

The sun crept into the room they shared, lancing across the bed they were sharing, and Squall shifted so that his shadow shaded Jordan's eyes, so they could stay in bed longer.

#47 - Moon

Jordan barely believed some of Squall's stories about the war, but he had to believe him when Squall told him about the moon, about the way the monsters had come down, a dark cloud of death, and he remembered, the shock and horror of it, and believed.

#48 - Waves

One day they went to a beach together, to lay on the sand and watch the water, and Squall told him, quietly, about the place where he'd grown up -- a few decaying memories of smiling kids, and the sparkle on the blue blue waves.

#49 - Hair

Jordan ran his fingers through Squall's hair, teasing out a tangle, and held him close, and Squall leaned against him, feeling his warmth and goodness and feeling glad that he wasn't strong, that he wasn't a fighter, because this way, he was safe.

#50 - Supernova

All the while Seifer had known about Jordan, a little black jealousy had been growing, and when he heard Squall say that he'd been with Jordan, he heard that remembered voice saying 'hey, baby' in that quiet, pleased way, and the jealousy exploded outwards like a star's explosion.
