I've had this done for days; I was just waiting for my claim to be posted.

Fandom: 24
Pairing: Jack Bauer/Chloe O'Brian
Theme set: Epsilon
Rating: PG-13 (for some swearing)

Warning: Major fluff ahead! Look out for rabit plot bunnies 0.o There may be a tab bit of OOCness in there...

#01 - Motion

Her fingers were constantly in motion, pounding away effortlessly against the hard, plastic keys, and somehow, he found a sense of comfort from the constant tap.

#02 - Cool

The water, while it brought a dull pain to her finger, felt oddly refreshing against the searing heat of the burn; his fingers holding her hand under the faucet did nothing to ease the heat from her face, however.

#03 - Young

She told him that, yes, as a child, she had imagined a Prince Charming; what she wouldn’t say, however, was that he had completely blown away those fantasies, and had done a damn good job of it, too.

#04 - Last

When the smoke cleared, and she realized that, once again, he stood alone, she wasted no time in going to him- he was the last standing; she was the last thing keeping him that way.

#05 - Wrong

“Do you even know what the word ‘no’ means?” He grins and nods, but still refuses to give her back her new keyboard.

#06 - Gentle

He grunts when she puts pressure on the wound, blood pouring over her calloused fingers, and she whispers a soft apology that somehow lessens the pain.

#07 - One

Her last request, made on dying lips, was that he find a way to be happy with the remainder of his life; he realized two years later- years filled with alcohol and nightmares and regret- that it was one thing he would never be able to give her.

#08 - Thousand

“Over a thousand choices, and you picked him?” She shrugged indifferently, and then pointed out that the pet shop did not have over a thousand species of dogs.

#09 - King

When he told her that as a kid, his favorite game had been King of the Hill, she had rolled her eyes and muttered, “I’m not surprised, but I meant board game.”

#10 - Learn

He had jumped, instincts kicking in, when the book came flying out of no where and into a near by wall, but relaxed when he heard her fuming and ranting loudly over the stupidity of foreign languages (“Why the hell can’t everyone just speak English?”).

#11 - Blur

She ran fast, he noted, when she had the right motivations- he decided quickly, after she had tackled him to the ground at top speed, that the right motivations did not include her beloved lap top.

#12 - Wait

“Patience is a virtue,” she muttered to him, after he had snapped at her to hurry it up with the coffee.

#13 - Change

There were plenty of differences when she moved in with him; good (“It’s nice to have someone around who can cook…”), bad (“Jack, stop hiding my socks, damn it!”), and even the mildly frightening (“Is there a reason you have month old broccoli in here?”).

#14 - Command

He never realized just how persuasive she could be, until she had literally forced him to sit down with Spencer and assure him that he would not skin the slimy weasel alive if he happened to come within 100 yards of her by sheer coincidence.

#15 - Hold

The hospital waiting room was a place that always seemed to terrify her, and even as Buchanan held her hand and assured her that it was going to be alright- Jack would be okay, he was a survivor- she realized how hollow the words sounded.

#16 - Need

She knew that there was a fine line between want and need, and as he gently kissed her, she realized that she had crossed it ages ago.

#17 - Vision

When she finally woke up, everything was dark- the only thing that reminded her that she was awake was the sound of Jack’s panicked voice in the background, and when her fingers touched the bandage wrapped around her eyes, she realized why he was so shaken.

#18 - Attention

She focused - really, she did- but damn it if it wasn’t hard to concentrate with him staring at her like that.

#19 - Soul

The eyes were the windows to the soul, he had heard once- whether it was true or not, it certainly seemed to fit her.

#20 - Picture

“It’s worth a thousand words,” she pointed out when he had, not so kindly, noted that a child could have drawn something that made more sense.

#21 - Fool

“It’s not so bad,” she said as she brushed her fingers against his bruised eye, but it was obvious she was hiding back her laughter, to which he glared- walking into a wall three days before his wedding, during the rehearsal, was not exactly his definition of ‘good’.

#22 - Mad

His temper was a delicate thing that was easily set off, but somehow, even during his worst fits, she managed to stand there and look completely unimpressed, barring the time he’d accidentally knock over her laptop.

#23 - Child

Children, while obviously fitting in snuggly to complete the perfect ‘white-picket fence’ fantasy, were not something Chloe had ever considered, and as she watched her closest friend chase around a screaming two year old, she realized that was probably a good thing.

#24 - Now

The future was not something either of them liked to think about, but somehow they ended up discussing it at four in the morning over coffee, not realizing that they would probably be happier discussing the rain outside and the steaming cups in their hands.

#25 - Shadow

Her power was out again- it was sad that this happened enough that she had a steady supply of candles just in case; she didn’t really mind so much, though, when somehow their shadows ended up intertwined.

#26 - Goodbye

Everyone had apologized to her- technically, no one was supposed to have known about them, but it was unsurprising that they did, and they all apologized, but that didn’t make it better: she didn’t get to say goodbye.

#27 - Hide

This was probably the stupidest position they’d ever been in, and it was all his fault, really- after all, he was the one who wanted to keep their relationship a secret, (“Damn it Jack, why the hell did you shove me into a closest- Ow, that’s my foot-“ “It’s not my fault Kim decided the drop in-“ “Shut up, I think she’s gone,” “…I… can’t get this door open…” “WHAT?!”)

#28 - Fortune

Her good luck since becoming involving with him had seemingly vanished- even the fortune cookies were against her (“Today is not a good day- watch out for city buses,”)- but, waking up in the mornings and seeing him made it seem worth it.

#29 - Safe

He worried about her, almost constantly, to the point where it distracted him at work; but he had lost too many people already, too many loved ones, to let her out of his sight.

#30 - Ghost

“Misery loves company,” she quipped, coming to sit beside him in one of the uncomfortable hospital waiting chairs, taking one of his cold hands into her own and asking softly about Kim’s condition, knowing full well what type of memories these places brought up.

#31 - Book

He didn’t mention it when he noted some of his thicker novels- the ones that revolved around criminal psychology and the like- had started disappearing from his bookshelf, and only laughed when he found them again under her side of the bed.

#32 - Eye

He held back a small chuckle when he saw for the first time that she wore a pair of reading glasses at night, simply because she had glared and threatened him with the couch for a week if he ever told anyone; he decided that he would hold off on telling her how cute she looked with them on.

#33 - Never

There was a whole list of things that Chloe had decided she would never get to do, and she realized, well after they had finished making out like hormone crazed teenagers and proper brain function returned, that she would have to cross ‘Will not meet Mr. Perfect, so stop looking’ off the list.

#34 - Sing

She refused to sing around him, whether from sheer embarrassment or simply shyness he couldn’t tell, but somehow, they had been wrestled into babysitting, and somehow she ended up pacing across the floor, singing every lullaby she knew, while Jack stood in the doorway, obediently silent, despite the smile gracing his lips.

#35 - Sudden

She decided very quickly she didn’t like surprises, usually because they ended up with someone dead; the ring on her pillow one evening was a pleasant reminded, however, that not all surprises were cooked up by crazed terrorists.

#36 - Stop

Every person had limits, even Jack Bauer, despite the fact that he would never admit it- Chloe later reflected as she patched him up, again, that it was probably a good thing she knew his limitations better than he did.

#37 - Time

She had never been a fan of clocks, but sometimes she was grateful for their presence in her room, because the constant ticking balanced her and kept her from getting too lost in her own musings.

#38 - Wash

Months ago, when she hadn’t been in a focused relationship, the chores around the house had actually gotten done; now, however, the dishes were feeling neglected as she once again abandoned them for a more entertaining ‘chore’

#39 - Torn
“Jack, I can’t,” she whispered into the phone, softly, her fingers trembling- his life for millions of others; it was the right thing to do, but she realized then and there that she couldn’t do it.

#40 - History

“Those who don’t learn from the past are doomed to repeat it,” he quoted, once, and she glared and told him to stuff it- she was not going to look the history of the Chinese Finger Trap just so he could kill whoever invented it.

#41 - Power

She was stronger than she gave herself credit for, he noted, after she had literally KOed him (albiet accidentally) with a door.

#42 - Bother

It was a monotonous procedure for her- wake up, get dressed, rush to work, stop whatever terrorist was the flavor of the day, go home, sleep, rinse, lather, repeat- but she realized one morning that the only reason she kept it up was because she knew she’d be the only one keeping him alive- the only person he could turn to- at some point during the day.

#43 - God

He’d never been very religious in his life, but he found that his pride was worth it if she would just start breathing again.

#44 - Wall

The walls to her apartment were thin, and noise traveled easily, which was why she ended up at his house more often than not- she couldn’t handle one more ruined date because of that damn dog next door.

#45 - Naked

“I hate this dress,” she pointed out, struggling to make the less-than-accommodating cloth to cover more than it was obviously made for; he laughed when she grumbled that it made her feel completely exposed.

#46 - Drive

Chloe, as it turned out, was a defensive driver- she obviously knew what she was doing on the road, though that didn’t make Jack feel any safer as she darted between lanes.

#47 - Harm

“Stop being such a baby,” she chastised, grabbing his hand to steady it while he strung together a fine sentence of curses, some of which she’d never even heard before, “It’s just a paper cut.”

#48 - Precious

Few things could be considered ‘precious’ to Chloe, and even fewer people could fit, but somehow, he managed to worm his way into that category without even trying.

#49 - Hunger

There was a certain hunger in his eyes at all times- one that sent shivers down her spine at times; it took her a few months to realize that hunger was something only she could satisfy.

#50 - Believe

He believed in two things- Murphy’s Law, and his own gun; she believed in only one: that he could, and would, always make things right.

A/N: Okay, I'm praying to high heaven I did this right... Cross-posted to Chlack and JackandChloe.
