[theme set] Delta
[rating] G-PG13

[spoilers] Yes, for the movie…I found the TV series to be very depressing. I don’t know why I love this anime…it’s so sad! But I still love it!

Sorry this took so long...that in itself is a story, but hey - it's done!

- Air: It was a usual hot and humid day, the air so thick Yukito could taste the heat.

- Apples: He glanced at Misuzu, who was sitting with her knees supporting each others weight, innocently entertaining herself by peeling an apple.

- Beginning: His summer had begun as nothing out of the ordinary, just like every day, trying to scrape by; but as he spent more time with Misuzu, he felt his fate take a turn.

- Bugs: “Nihaha…” Yukito heard Misuzu say as she hopped after the summer butterflies.

- Coffee: She was so pure and chaste with a child’s personality, even preferring the sickeningly sweet gelatin peach drink instead of normal beverages like tea and coffee.

- Dark: Misuzu quietly watched as Yukito began to nod off in the summer sun - she couldn’t tell him there were dark times ahead and didn’t want to think about the consequences.

- Despair: “In a moment of despair, Kana-sama cried out to her mother, the one person she so desperately wanted to be with,” Misuzu read aloud, trying to ignore her subconscious mind creating the similarities to her own life.

- Doors: “She’s in there - I know she is,” Yukito thought to himself, bursting through the shrine’s doors to find Misuzu laying down, waiting for him to find her this whole time.

- Drink: “How can you like this stuff?” Yukito exclaimed, to which Misuzu replied, “It’s a good drink,” taking a sip with a smile.

- Duty: “I don’t have a duty,” Yukito said to himself, “This isn’t the story, it’s real life.”

- Earth: “You were flying the first day I met you, remember?” Yukito said to the feverish Misuzu, “You were twirling your fingers through the air, flying high away from earth and into the heavens.”

- End: This couldn’t be the end, Yukito refused to accept it; he had just found her and wasn’t going to let go so easily.

- Fall: “She’ll never fall from the sky,” Yukito had to remind himself for comfort, “She’ll stay up there, never coming down, only descending as a goddess in a snowfall of feathers.”

- Fire: Their passion was like fire that night: a warm level of comfort vibrated between them, and yet raw explosives lit the way through the darkness.

- Flexible: It was summer and Misuzu’s schedule was flexible, yet she couldn’t help but want to do everything she’d been meaning to do all her life.

- Flying: Misuzu could hear Kana-sama’s voice in echo in her head, “I want to be free and fly high into the sky, like I was meant to…”

- Food: It was nice to have someone to cook for, even if Yukito shoveled his food so fast he could barely taste it.

- Foot: Yukito could never understand her, bouncing from different points of being completely carefree to the low point of sitting quietly on the bank of the river, tapping her foot in the water.

- Grave: Maybe it was the fact that it rained every time he visited, this shrine always seemed like a grave instead of a place of worship.

- Green: The day was hot, yet Misuzu strayed in the grass, the green blades tickling her feet.

- Head: Unable to restrain himself any longer, Yukito lowered his head, guiding Misuzu’s face and lips towards his own.

- Hollow: She had such liveliness to her actions, yet Yukito could see a hollow sadness locked within those eyes - the eyes that had seen well beyond her years, beyond the course of time.

- Honor: “Have you no honor?” Yukito’s subconscious screamed at him as he packed his bags and departed for the bus stop.

- Hope: There seemed to be no shred of hope left on that last day.

- Light: When day broke, light seeped into the room through the cracks in the wooden boards, and Yukito wondered if this was the day he could save her.

- Lost: “You can’t leave, you have to stay,” Yukito cried and held Misuzu close to his chest, then whispered, “I’d be lost without you.”

- Metal: Misuzu concentrated on the small metal band around her index finger; This is my promise to stay with you Yukito’s words rang in her head.

- New: “Maybe this time, maybe something new will change, maybe…” Yukito prayed, kneeling by Misuzu’s bed, his arms propping his heavy head up.

- Old: This was a tale of two old souls, trapped in an ongoing cycle destined to find each other and let go.

- Peace: As the train left the station, Yukito’s thoughts haunted his mind with memories of the past few months; he at least hoped that Misuzu’s soul had found her peace.

- Poison: The simple word “No” was like poison to Misuzu, shot straight to a heart that was already damaged.

- Pretty: Wrapped in the silence, Yukito held Misuzu in a close embrace, gently pressing her body against his, ever so slightly ruffling her pretty cotton yukata.

- Rain: For two days Yukito thought about what he fool he was, and how the steady rain stayed in sync with the falling tears from Misuzu.

- Regret: Even in her last breath, Yukito cursing himself and her for loving him, Misuzu gently placed her hand on his face, cupping his chin and saying “I don’t regret loving you…it was worth everything to me.”

- Roses: When Misuzu awoke she discovered a large pink rose next her pillow, so freshly picked the morning dew had not dried.

- Secret: After that night, there were no secrets between them, only wishes whispered to each other under the sheets.

- Snakes: Yukito came running into the shed, throwing open the door when he heard Misuzu’s scream, only to find her naked, clutching the falling sheets and standing on top of two boxes shouting “Snake!!”

- Snow: The snow reminded him of summer, ironically, and how Misuzu loved sweet shaved ice, especially when she used it as a snowball.

- Solid: As Misuzu lay on Yukito’s chest, rising and falling with the motions of his breathing, she quietly confessed to him, “You are the one solid thing keeping me grounded.”

- Spring: Even on the days when the heat was unbearable, and the journey for Misuzu’s research was long, just one brush from an accidental touch could give Yukito a spring in his step.

- Stable: Yukito struggled to hold her stable, her weight had increased as her body fell limp from the fever.

- Strange: It was strange to think how many times he had lived this same life, coming back each time to save her, determined that this time he would succeed.

- Summer: Yukito couldn’t decide if the summer heat was making him sweat or the fact that Misuzu was running his hands over her body.

- Taboo: “It’s like the story,” Misuzu explained, “Kana-sama knew it was taboo to love, but you can’t stop from feeling it no more than you can control the falling rain.”

- Ugly: Yukito couldn’t understand why Misuzu made friends with such an ugly bird, the damn thing loved to sit there and mock him.

- War: When she was gone, Yukito couldn’t help but feel like he lost the battle, but won the war, in hopes that Misuzu’s soul was finally free.

- Water: The water was warm, and Misuzu let out a giggled sigh as Yukito squeezed out the washcloth on her back.

-Welcome: The night was dark, early into the morning hours, and still Yukito crept into Misuzu’s bed, who happily welcomed him with sleepy arms.

- Winter: In Yukito’s mind, the seasons never changed; no winter, no fall, no spring, just the constant summer he spent with her.

- Wood: As Misuzu slept, Yukito laid down by her side on the bamboo mats, the smoothness of the wood lightly pressing into his skin.
