I'm at it again, writing sentences for rare pairings, in hopes that they get some more love. Whether or not this pair will get such love is unknown to me, but maybe it will. ^_^ Thanks for your time, all!

Title: Forever Coming

Pairing: Martouf x Samantha Carter
Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Theme Set: Alpha

Forever Coming

Comfort.) Even though the sorrow of Jolinar’s death plagued his mind, when in Samantha’s presence he felt a calm unlike anything he had ever experienced, her smile both a wonder and a joy to see each time she gave him the privilege.

Kiss.) She had been robbed too many times of her right to kiss him, and now determined to claim her prize, she yanked him down the ramp just as he was about to pass through the event horizon and kissed him as if he was the only man in the universe.

Soft.) With eyes as blue as the sky, Martouf looked upon her for the first time, sensing strength in her step, but detected a broken and torn woman beneath the surface, tethered by time and heartbreak.

Pain.) Samantha reeled forwards, her body convulsing with the pain her senses were experiencing, begging him to shut off the device - Martouf still felt so guilty for putting her through such torture just to reclaim memories, even though they proved to be useful.

Potatoes.) “So I hear Carter can cook,” Jack said with a mischievous smirk, catching the curious stare of the Tok’ra walking in front of him, just before Jack tossed an oddly shaped vegetable to him, “Tell her I like my potatoes mashed, not smooshed.”

Rain.) Samantha was looking through the paper to find out what movie was playing at the park open theater, noting the title Singing in the Rain in bold print, but shook her head in distaste, wanting something different than an old memory.

Chocolate.) When the time was right, Samantha pulled Martouf into a dark corner of one of the tunnels and took a small packet from her vest, offering it to him with a smile, “I thought you would like a little treat we call chocolate, but don’t let anyone else see it - they’ll want it, too.”

Happiness.) “My beloved, Samantha, do not doubt that all the time I have spent with you has brought me more joy than I could ever hope to feel for another hundred years,” Martouf took her hands to plead once more, hope shining in his eyes as he finished, “Please don’t give up on our love now.”

Telephone.) Ring ring! the little telephone on the nightstand blared in his ears - he glared at the little thing in frustration; curse this bloody Earth technology!

Ears.) In the sweetness of night, he would find himself admiring her again and again, fingers rubbing her earlobes methodically and all the way down the side of her face, gentle caresses soothing her into an even deeper sleep.

Name.) “My name means ‘listener of God’, or one who pays attention to virtually everything,” she told him with a smile as one appeared on his face, most pleased to hear such a delightful description, “And I’m glad I paid attention to you when we met.”

Sensual.) Martouf couldn’t help but stare when her fingers moved in such a taunting fashion across his shoulder, that he had to try with great restraint to keep from overpowering her he was so physically attracted to her.

Death.) “He wanted you to kill him, Major,” Elliot’s strained voice told her from the other side of the cavern, “He never could have lived knowing that he was responsible for the deaths of so many and for nearly ruining relations with your world forever - he loved you too much to stay alive.”

Sex.) A simple touch felt like fire and a kiss was as ice penetrating their lungs, beauty in purity revealing itself to the two so long in love that they had almost forgotten how wonderful the sensation of unity felt.

Touch.) “You should go, Samantha; your team is waiting for you on the other side,” Martouf informed her gently, almost wishing he hadn’t urged her to leave, not knowing when he would see or feel her enchanting presence again, but the mere touch of her hand against his own would have to suffice him until their next meeting.

Weakness.) Her hands were drenched in blood and her hair was riddled with dirt; obviously cleanliness wouldn’t be achieved while she tried to save his life before more enemy soldiers would come to finish Samantha and her partner off, but even though she had the strength to run away (and his advice to do the latter), she would not leave his side unless it was by death and death alone.

Tears.) “I know you would never let them kill me, Martouf…” Samantha soothed, stroking his face tenderly to show her appreciation when her fingertips felt something surprisingly cool - his tears were not yet gone.

Speed.) After staring at the sunset began to grow tiresome, Samantha smirked slyly, abruptly tapped his shoulder, then jumped to her feet, “You’re it!” she declared, darting off barefoot in the sand as he grinned, beginning the inevitable chase down the beach.

Wind.) “Ssssss…” whispered the breezes as she worked hurriedly on completing an off-world test for later evaluation, but the wind continued to distract her, as if it was saying her name over and over, caressing her cheeks as it blew past her face.

Freedom.) Bringing liberty to other people brought her such joy, but it was a satisfaction that would never be truly filled, for her heart was a slave to the past, longing after something that was far from being alive, and thus she would never be free of her chains that bound her to him - chains she willingly clasped around her wrists and will.

Life.) Subject to torture of the worst kind - memories of his precious Jolinar haunting him, Martouf would not trade Samantha’s life for his, lying in her stead so that she would not face death as he feared he would eventually succumb to.

Jealousy.) Blaming it on male instinct, Martouf always resented the close relationship Samantha seemed to have with Jack, something he had obviously come to observe over time, and he hated it…

Hands.) When her sharp eyes saw the troops forming less than a mile away, she cursed under her breath, pulled Martouf upright to be supported against her back, then with hands that were powered by sheer determination, she held him in place, then darted for the Gate, hoping to get there before the enemy did.

Taste.) She never could pinpoint the exact flavor, but there was something in his kiss that made her always come back, hungering after this elusive sweetness that she could always get when in his arms.

Devotion.) Even though she was rambling on and on about things he truly didn’t care about at the moment, Martouf always enjoyed his time with her, listening to the sound of her voice as though she was sharing a devotional of her life, not her work - it was enough to keep him sane day after day.

Forever.) “Love,” Martouf had to interrupt as she began to mutter to herself about matters of the future, “There is no science that can properly assess eternity, because it is as a circle - it never ends, and thus it is a cycle that goes on for forever, just as you will continue to do if you choose to persist on such a topic.”

Blood.) As his body was taken through the Gate to have the proper burial rituals performed, Samantha glared at the stone floor that still bore his bloodstain, a haunting reminder of what had transpired, and ultimately what she had done to keep him from doing more damage - a sacrifice she deemed worthy at the time.

Sickness.) Poor Janet Fraiser was boggled again, looking upon the unconscious form of her best friend lying in a hospital bed for what seemed like the millionth time, her vitals at a dangerous level, and all the while, the cold hand of Samantha Carter was in the capable and healing hand of another who vowed to heal her of her illness.

Melody.) He couldn’t take it anymore, “Sam,” he blurted, drawing her startled gaze from over her shoulder to look at him, by far surprised; sheepishly he smiled and spoke again, “I’m sorry, but... will you sing again?”

Star.) “I still can’t believe for all that time Sam was telling me that she was staring at the stars through a telescope,” Jacob said with a laugh, walking through the Tok’ra tunnels with Martouf at his side - then the older man grinned at his comrade before touching a panel to open the next door, “I’d say she was reaching for the stars, more like it.”

Home.) During the few occasions in which he would be at Samantha’s house by himself, he would often inspect every photo and piece of furniture to familiarize himself with the objects that brought her comfort, memorizing the smiles of faces he didn’t recognize - all except for Jacob, of course, who looked so happy to be at his daughter’s side in the many pictures.

Confusion.) Martouf tried and he tried, but every little clue that she had left on a piece of paper confused him more, until he finally made his way into the room of their home that used to be empty, but now it had one single object in it - a cradle.

Fear.) When he finally realized the implications of the pastel colored piece of furniture in the once abandoned room, Martouf felt light-headed, sat down and leaned against the wall, all the while staring at the oddly shaped thing - he knew next to nothing about fathering a child.

Lightning/Thunder.) ‘Zap’ went the power, and the two were in the dark, their books that they were reading rendered useless to further exploration, and only smiles that neither could see played on their faces, “It would seem that there is another thunderstorm…”

Bonds.) “Give me your hand, Samantha,” he said softly, taking it in his own with her palm facing up - carefully, he circled her outstretched hand, as if looping rope around it, then did the same thing to himself as he smiled in satisfaction, “Now we are bound forever by invisible ties that can never be broken.”

Market.) Snickering, Samantha pulled him into the mega-plex full of bustling people and intriguing smells - needless to say, Martouf was amazed, then his mate spoke, “Welcome to Wal-Mart.”

Technology.) “I am so very sorry, Samantha, I should never have asked you to use the technology for such purposes,” he apologized, almost tearfully as she stroked her hand up and down his arm to assure him that no permanent damage had been done by his own curiosity to learn of another precious memory he once had with his beloved Jolinar.

Gift.) “I got ya somethin’,” Samantha said with a grin, pulling her closed fist out of her jacket pocket - once he was within range of seeing the object within her palm, he saw the tiny golden ring that looked as though it would easily slip onto one of his fingers, “Since we didn’t undergo the usual marriage ritual, it’s customary for my culture to present the other with a ring so that I can pledge myself to you forever - go ahead and try it on!”

Smile.) Every time he smiled, she felt her heart flutter, but this time she smirked back, cocked her head to the side a bit and spoke, “You know, I just realized how insanely white your teeth are - didn’t think the Tok’ra had Crest toothpaste in their inventory.”

Innocence.) After countless times of observing his behavior and listening to his seemingly idle conversation, Samantha could tell that Martouf wasn’t as innocent as his appearances boasted, but he came painfully close to being something akin to an angel - or at the very least, a devious one.

Completion.) When she finally said the word, after years of pining after her love and attention, Martouf knew his life was complete, for with such a brilliant and beautiful woman at his side, nothing could compete with the joy she would provide from that day on.

Clouds.) That night as she left the base to head home for some much needed recovery time after what they had all endured, Samantha noted the heavy clouds in the sky, warnings of a grave storm about to hit Colorado Springs - appropriate weather for when dealing with the loss of a loved one.

Sky.) “Martouf… Martouf, wake up,” Samantha urged her husband out of bed, grinning from ear to ear, “I want you to see the sunrise, because it’s unlike anything else you’ve ever seen on any of the planets you’ve been to.”

Heaven.) His blue eyes blinked several times to ascertain the situation, but sure enough, her lips were finally descending upon his, and he immediately thought he had died and gone to Heaven when she touched him - his dreams had ultimately come true.

Hell.) Images of utter chaos and pain flooded his mind when his body was forced to intake the Blood, and they were hallucinations he could not bear - both of the women he loved seemed to be brought before him, tortured and screaming out for the hellish practices to end, but no matter how many times he pleaded, his captor would not rid him of such agony.

Sun.) As green and blue gazed on intently at the rising sun in the east, the giant orb reflected on the golden band around his finger, and when both glanced at it briefly, Samantha smiled warmly and removed her hand from being tucked into her pocket to be entwined with his awaiting fingers, her ring also glittering in the gentle morning light.

Moon.) The door opened into the moonlit room, and with the utmost caution, she placed her sleeping baby inside his cradle, all the while singing a lullaby her husband had grown most fond of, and it easily became their son’s favorite one to fall asleep to.

Waves.) The sight was incredible - nothing but open water stretching out as far as the eye could see until it touched the horizon, and his eyes couldn’t believe it, “I’ve never seen so much water… nor have I seen such calm wave activity - this is truly remarkable; thank you for bringing me here, Samantha.”

Hair.) She didn’t have much hair to brush or take care of, but Samantha always allowed him the pleasure of running his fingers through it to become a much more soothing comb - the only problem was the fact that he wasn’t exactly portable.

Supernova.) Samantha had cheated death numerous times, escaped from hundreds of enemy soldiers, and had outrun an exploding sun - but she couldn’t stand the pain of losing anybody else in her life to something so low and pitiful as a hidden piece of foreign technology that turned him against her for thirty seconds in time.

Spread the Martouf x Sam love, darn it!
