There's one prompt that isn't one sentence strictly speaking. Forgive me?
Ring
Every time he felt the cool metal pressed between their hands, he remembered Randy wasn’t his own.
Hero
None of them were heroes; heroes were dead.
Memory
His first memory of Gary was of his blinding smile when he shook his hand and asked if he played chess.
Box
The first time he saw the boxes being carried into the plane to be sent back home, he thought, “So that’s what awaits me”.
Run
Some nights he would fake restlessness, just so Randy would come run with him; the sound of twin footsteps reverberating on concrete in unison.
Hurricane
He prayed for the hurricane to last a bit longer; being stuck in an abandoned warehouse with Randy wasn’t such a hardship after all.
Wings
Randy never thought he’d see the day both Wolcott and Durant would lose their wings; but, he reflected, it was just as well they did so on the same mission.
Cold
Lying in wait on a rooftop, drenched in cold November rain, he was burning from the feel of Randy crouched next to him, leg pressing against his.
Red
The African sunset painted everything blood red, like a warning sign addressed to them.
Drink
He drank in the sight in front of him: an expanse of golden skin, droplets of water still clinging to freshly washed hair, blue eyes watching him questioningly.
Midnight
They never met before midnight, when all the other soldiers were finally asleep or feigning sleep for their own purposes.
Temptation
He knew he shouldn’t have, but the temptation had been too strong, and seeing Gary’s smile when he opened the package was worth all the risks he’d taken.
View
Covertly observing Randy, Gary reflected he wouldn’t miss the communal showers, but he’d certainly miss the view.
Music
He suddenly felt like his own heart had stopped beating; deaf to the bullets flying past his head, he ran to the fallen figure, to Gary.
Silk
He hastily tore off the silky fabric obscuring his sight, quickly reaching for his gun. Dammit, he hated parachuting.
Cover
Under cover of their chess matches, they would talk more freely than ever, their moves saying more than words ever could.
Promise
“Promise me if…”
“No.”
A sigh.
“I need to know you won’t…”
“Don’t even say it! I can’t promise you this, Randy.”
“Gary…”
“No.”
Dream
Blood drenched nightmares would brutally wake him up and only the steady sound of Gary’s breathing would manage to lull him back to sleep.
Candle
Gary was a romantic at heart, which Randy would often make fun of, but the candles decorated with glittery pink hearts were a bit much even for him.
Talent
During their first leave together, Gary had unexpectedly discovered Randy’s talent: Randy made the best breakfast in bed known to man.
Silence
Randy’s silences used to unsettle and even worry Gary before he understood that Randy was a man of action; and that was more than fine by Gary.
Journey
Every day he spent away from Randy, his thoughts traveled back to the familiar place where they loved each other.
Fire
His whole body thrummed with anticipation, Gary’s fingers and tongue tracing a burning path on his skin, his whispered words only stoking the fire higher.
Strength
At first, he’d thought his relationship with Gary would be his weakness, but with time he realized it’d become his greatest strength.
Mask
When Gary offered him a dog for his birthday, he masked his surprise by declaring he’d name the dog Gary.
Ice
The slowly melting ice on Gary’s chest made him squirm, sending delicious shivers through Randy’s body.
Fall
He didn’t know the exact moment he’d fallen, but he’d fallen hard and he couldn’t bring himself to regret it.
Forgotten
Once he was in his arms, the blood, the pain, the screams, everything was forgotten.
Dance
When Gary and Randy fought side-by-side, bodies in synch, they were like dancers, knowing each other’s steps like their own.
Body
After Randy was injured in Panama, Gary had made him promise to never say anything like “over my dead body” ever again.
Sacred
In war, nothing was sacred, but when they got home they would touch each other with reverence, worshipping each other’s body lovingly.
Farewells
They knew that when the time came, there would be no farewells; they would follow each other and never have to be apart.
World
After a mission, Gary would sleep for days; dead to the world, he’d trust Randy to watch his back like always.
Formal
There was nothing formal about Deltas, not following the rules was actually expected of them.
Fever
Randy’s fever still hadn’t abated and in his delirious state the only word he knew was Gary.
Laugh
Gary was all laughter and smiles, but when it came to Randy, he was every inch the fierce and protective Delta.
Lies
Each knew the other so completely; there could be no lies between them.
Forever
They never talked about the future, not even about next month; they knew the only forever they could have would come after this life.
Overwhelmed
When he allowed himself to relax and think about Gary, he was overwhelmed by the feelings that surfaced and how deeply they ran; it was almost enough to scare him.
Whisper
The soft whisper of his name on Gary’s lips was enough to make him lose control.
Wait
When Randy went on solo missions, Gary would wait for the part of him that left with Randy to come back; then life would start making sense again.
Talk
They didn’t need to talk, a single look saying all that words couldn’t express: “we’ll go together”.
Search
Searching his mind for the moment he fell for Gary, he had to admit he’d always loved him anyway.
Hope
It wasn’t a matter of hope; what mattered was doing the right thing and never leaving anyone behind, whatever the risks, whatever the cost.
Eclipse
They were like binary stars, forever revolving around each other: only a mutual eclipse could cause a variation in their brightness.
Gravity
The two snipers always gravitated around each other, and it was an acknowledged fact that you couldn’t separate them unless you wanted to endure their wrath.
Highway
When the lights of the highway patrol finally faded away, Randy heaved a relieved sigh, shooting a glare at a snickering Gary; it wouldn’t do for them to be caught with their pants down. Literally.
Unknown
He’d always know they’d go together, what he didn’t know was when and how.
Lock
He fingered the key to his locker; thinking that maybe tonight he would talk to Gary, explain why it couldn’t work and this thing between them had to stop.
Breathe
“Breathe, Randy”, he heard him whisper against his neck; but how could he breathe when everything in him was burning with the feel of Gary.
