Set within the first film, The Curse of the Black Pearl
#50 - Breathe
The rank cell air passes over Jack's tongue, down his throat, into his lungs; he swallows the rising bile and the rolling nausea and growls quietly in frustration and hunger.
#49 - Lock
Best jailer he's ever known, that dog; scruffy, mangy, yet apparently curiously satisfied with its lot in life; unmoved by pleas or bargains or offers of payment in its many forms, it just sits until its master arrives with a reward for a job well done - more effective than any fickle human.
#48 - Unknown
He sits staring at the rats in the corner, thoughts filled with the clean young blacksmith he sparred with earlier, recalling his own insisting tone that that his one shot was meant for another; remembering the inquisitive look in the brown eyes staring back at him over the barrel of his pistol.
#47 - Highway
It's difficult to look back at the events which had befallen him and see the exact course which had brought him to this filthy place once again awaiting the hangman's noose, but it probably has a lot to do with the feelings he's entertaining now for the blacksmith.
#46 - Gravity
As pointless as fighting the laws of nature is fighting the desires of his heart.
#45 - Eclipse
The canons roar; the moon blotted out by smoke of Port Royal burning.
#44 - Hope
He recognises everything that heralds The Black Pearl's arrival; from the sound of her guns to the horror of those witnessing first-hand her legendary black sails and damned crew.
#43 - Search
A hole is punched in the cell wall by a canon ball the size of a house, and as his fellow prisoners gleefully escape he peers out between their legs and through the smoke, eyes adjusting and filling with tears against the ash in the air and he spies her, out in the harbour, splendid in battle.
#42 - Talk
There's rumour that the governor's daughter was taken and that the blacksmith was killed; such a waste sits with an odd weight in his heart.
#41 - Wait
No one comes for him at dawn to take him to the gallows - Miss Swann has indeed been kidnapped, although now he hears talk of the blacksmith beseeching the commodore to set out to rescue her; nothing to do but continue his attempts at prying the lock and hope for a get-away before they remember the captain in their cells and seek a revenge of sorts.
#40 - Whisper
He comes, and his voice is as perfect as his large eyes and smooth face and Jack is barely listening as he attempts to strike a bargain with a pirate to rescue his childhood love.
#39 - Overwhelmed
Luck was never this cruel or twisted; William Turner, son of 'Bootstrap' Bill Turner, the very man the Black Pearl's demon crew were seeking at every corner of the world, standing before him as tempting as a seven-course meal and a barrel of rum.
#38 - Forever
He commits the pale face to memory for illumination of darker times.
#37 - Lies
The deal is struck; Will's side of the bargain based on god's honest truth, Jack's based on quickly-formed half-lies.
#36 - Laugh
The door comes free without a struggle and freedom embraces him at the price of his growing infatuation; fate does indeed have a sense of humour.
#35 - Fever
Following close, working close to obtain the ship; Jack flushes in his company, filled with base urges and more flamboyant desires.
#34 - Formal
'Captain Sparrow' won't do; Jack steps deliberately into Will's personal space, loving the surprise, basking in the warmth from the young agile body and the confusion in those huge eyes.
#33 - World
Jack's life has spanned the oceans, full of adventure, life and death; Will has known nothing of his bloodline, seeing and being seen as a simple blacksmith's assistant: a world of difference Jack's eyes cut straight through.
#32 - Farewells
The expression on Norrington's face is worth everything as Jack waves extravagantly from the Interceptor, calls back his thanks, and sails towards the horizon with both prizes.
#31 - Sacred
"There's a code," Jack explains carefully and from a safe distance; the horror in Will's eyes was too much to bare, too high a cost to pay.
#30 - Body
"You want this?" Will points at himself and asks, like a man condemned to give what he does not wish to, a man determined to separate body and heart.
#29 - Dance
They spar with words dripping from tongues loosened by rum; Jack advancing, attacking, Will parrying, lunging as the drink makes him braver and he lands a point.
#28 - Forgotten
Then there is only them, the world around fading into insignificance as Jack plunders Will's mouth, his reward the vibrations of a delighted hum in Will's throat, the most erotic sound he has ever heard.
#27 - Fall
Below decks in the lavish captain's quarters of the Royal Navy's flagship, Jack and Will lose themselves in each other; sharing the deepest of kisses, the most intimate of caresses, baring their souls as they step over the precipice, wrapped up together.
#26 - Ice
The dawn sun does nothing to thaw the sobriety of his mate.
#25 - Mask
"What you see is what you get, mate, it was all me, naked before ye; take it or leave it, Will, no tricks now Luv."
#24 - Strength
He stands with the ship's wheel held loosely in his grip and watches his blacksmith-turned-pirate pace the deck, searching for that which has to come from within him when everything he has ever known is turning against him.
#23 - Fire
He's seen Will now twisted inside out with lust and ecstasy, clawing at his skin and crying out his name, back arched and body trapping Jack deep inside as he demands more to quench the flames which threaten to consume him.
#22 - Journey
This voyage to Tortuga and beyond is only one of two trips being taken this day, and Jack knows that Will must make the second journey alone.
#21 - Silence
Still a day's sailing from Tortuga when night begins its descent over the world, the sunlight fading, the air cooling, with still no word passing between ship's complement.
#20 - Talent
"You knew what I wanted," Will accuses, and Jack smiles indulgently, "it's a gift, mate."
#19 - Candle
The door opens and a small flame dances in the darkness, Will's face in the halo of light, surrender clear in his eyes and in his intent as he approaches the bed.
#18 - Dream
Reality succumbs to the most vivid of fantasies; Jack and Will moving as one in the narrow bed, inscribed skin sliding against bare flesh, beaded hair tangling with a smooth mane, ringed fingers lacing with unadorned digits.
#17 - Promise
In the dark whispered words become a pact stronger than any code.
#16 - Cover
Heavy rainfall masks their arrival in Tortuga and unseen they slip on to land.
#15 - Silk
His presence is too distracting, his skin too tempting, lips absorbing; Jack's used to being off-balance but this is almost too much even for him.
#14 - Music
Strange and disturbing how his heart's song overcomes the rich pleasures that have so tempted him in past visits.
#13 - View
Jack stops in the street and watches his blacksmith against the backdrop of all this debauchery.
#12 - Temptation
"The crew is being assembled," Jack tells Will with a stretch of his shoulders and a slight yank to the truth, "but won't be ready 'till morning, so it seems we have time to ourselves...."
#11 - Midnight
Sounds the exotic and the erotic drift from the open window of a small room above an Inn on the docks.
#10 - Drink
Jack spies the barrels as they head to meet Gibbs and wonders at the ease of love-making without the weight of rum in his veins - an odd feeling indeed.
#09 - Red
Jack puts his faith in his plan and can only hope Will is able to put his into a pirate as they leave port and head directly into danger.
#08 - Cold
It's a bad voyage through the storm to the Isla De Muerta and when Will stands dripping and shivering in the captain's cabin, Jack decides it's his duty to warm his first mate.
#07 - Wings
Surprising how far and how fast he flies from Jack when Elizabeth is once again in his sights.
#06 - Hurricane
No storm as strong or as destructive as that in Jack's heart, threatening to tear apart the world to find his Will and to hold him once again.
#05 - Run
Soon enough there is no time to think, just to act to save his love's life, no matter where that life may then lead.
#04 - Box
The treasure chest of cursed gold squats atop a mountain of treasure, all the pieces present but the two in Will's hand that he drops, cleansed in his own blood, to lift the curse at the opportune moment.
#03 - Memory
In the aftermath of battle they stand face to face, betrayal to betrayal, and the world pauses to hear their words.
#02 - Hero
A smile turns Will's lips slowly and he leans forward to steal a kiss; "we made a pact," he reminds Jack who clasps his blacksmith in his arms again with relief like a passing storm.
#01 - Ring
In the cave, adorned in riches, Jack slides the thick wedding band with its ruby inset onto Will's index finger and embarrassed, utters something about not all treasure being silver and gold.
