Fandom: Weiss Kreuz
Pairing: Schuldig/Aya 'Ran' Fujimiya
Theme set: Gamma
Rating: PG, just in case the thought of two guys together does bad things to your psyche. Also, I think I talk about smoking, which is an uber no-no for the kids. Comma and semicolon abuse.
Spoilers for main season 1 and 2. Although, if you haven't seen them by now, you probably won't see them at all. Don't worry, you're really not missing much.
I like to do themes with these, so this one is: How the others view the pair. Schwarz is in on the joke, Weiss less so. Non-chronological, although the end is the end.
#01 - Ring
No matter how much Schuldig wanted to place a ring or collar on him, Aya was only ever seen adorned with his sister’s earring.
#02 - Hero
Schuldig could play the Hero to Aya’s Damsel, Crawford thought, as long as he remained the bad guy when it counted.
#03 - Memory
Youji sometimes would have a flash of dejavu; no, he couldn’t have seen those two together, just another faulty memory.
#04 - Box
Omi opened the package, removing the expected artillery, armor, and an unexpected box of Aya’s favorite cream puffs.
#05 - Run
Ken covered the escape route, fending off bodyguards, growling as he saw Aya run in the opposite direction.
#06 - Hurricane
Nagi looked up from paperwork, he caught a glimpse of Schuldig sneaking out again - the wind suddenly became much more brutal.
#07 - Wings
“Fallen angel, broken wings,” Farfarello thought the pair was a waste, “you can’t raise him up, but you can’t bring him much lower, either.”
#08 - Cold
Something was wrong, Youji could tell, since Aya was being colder than usual in the shop, especially to the new flame-haired foreign exchange girl.
#09 - Red
Schuldig was green with envy, everyone saw it, but his face blanched too white when Sakura actually pulled the trigger; then, he saw red.
#10 - Drink
Youji already had way too much to drink, and was seeing crazy things like Manx in leather with a tiger pet, or Aya cuddled up to Schuldig.
#11 - Midnight
Omi always noted his teammates return, and silently wondered who Aya had found that kept him out past midnight.
#12 - Temptation
Nagi leaned his head against the cool side of the toilet, cursing his comrade’s new obsession -- were the mental pictures of Balinese on his knees or Siberian’s rear end supposed to be tempting?
#13 - View
Crawford scowled at the bill; Schuldig didn’t rent the penthouse suite for the view.
#14 - Music
It was no Wunder X, but Ken wasn’t too fond of the German crap Aya had been playing.
#15 - Silk
The silk sheets were queen size and it was a pity the decadent things wouldn’t fit Youji’s bed; he’d asked Ken about them, but Aya simply plucked them from his hands.
#16 - Cover
“Cover me,” Schuldig flashed a grin to an exasperated Nagi, eyes chasing a beacon of red hair around the warehouse; “I’m going in!”
#17 - Promise
The team expected Crawford to be angry and call on Estet, but they couldn’t see how Aya newfound loyalty showed such promise in the future.
#18 - Dream
She lies peacefully, dreaming of knights and flowers and trickster devils and her brother.
#19 - Candle
Farfarello and Schuldig’s pranks lately don’t hold a candle to the mischief of their hey-day, neither in number or quality, but Schuldig doesn’t devote nearly as much free time to the scheming as he used to, either.
#20 - Talent
Nagi loves Tot because she’s wholesome and normal where he’s not, but Schuldig thinks Aya is interesting, even without a Talent.
#21 - Silence
Though Manx doesn’t keep tabs as in the past, even she can tell that there’s something less silent about Aya’s silences lately.
#22 - Journey
Schwarz didn’t think it would be a quick affair, since that wasn’t Schuldig’s style, but drawing out the journey with candy and books and truth isn’t his usual technique either.
#23 - Fire
Farfarello watched with wide eyes as the first of the girls were lit and he reveled in their screams; he didn’t notice his partner turn away from the scene.
#24 - Strength
“Be warned, Weiß, for these dark beasts are strong- we’ve word that Schwarz is aiding them,” and all eyes focused on Aya’s snort from the back.
#25 - Mask
This mask was new for Schuldig, and Nagi hoped that the kicked-puppy look worked better on Abyssinian than Schwarz, else it be a total waste.
#26 - Ice
“A person like him probably prefers shaved ice to ice cream,” said Crawford, effectively ending Schuldig’s obscene daydream.
#27 - Fall
Girls were perceptive at these things, and when Minako asked Youji who Aya had fallen for, Youji chided himself for not noticing earlier.
#28 - Forgotten
Aya was usually so quiet that Ken could forget he was there; lately though, Aya really wasn’t there, and Ken couldn’t remember when that silent presence became a part of ‘normal’.
#29 - Dance
Crawford danced with Abyssinian, dodging sword and shooting to miss per Schuldig’s mental shouts; really, it was good that Weiß were amateurs, the situation made everyone un-professional.
#30 - Body
Of course he’d looked at Aya’s body before and felt a pull, but Youji was of the opinion that you had to be batshit crazy to feel something for the mind-- his conscience laughed.
#31 - Sacred
Her brother had been her only visitor as yet, and the strange man tasted so wild in her thoughts, but his words were gentle and he treated her as something precious; her brother introduced them, this was his friend Guilty, so she tried to smile.
#32 - Farewells
Takatori’s blood ran across rooftops and Schudig ran away to his master’s feet; one day, Aya thought he might be the one doing the leaving, but probably not, so he showed Youji that misery loved company and they drank to their own respective Asuka.
#33 - World
Schuldig, to Farfarello’s knowledge, had never disliked any place in the world more than the chaos and crowds of Tokyo, but, to Farfarello’s knowledge, the telepath had always been a masochist.
#34 - Formal
Youji was surprised when Aya needed his help with date wear, but hey, as a friend, he outfitted the redhead quite nicely in fishnet and pleather; silk shirts were formal wear, right?
#35 - Fever
Nagi didn’t think that Schudig got sick, his temperature was steady, no coughing or sneezing or watery eyes-- it was Crawford who mentioned Abyssinian’s fever, and Nagi smacked Schuldig for being stupid.
#36 - Laugh
A thin red line stood starkly out against Schuldig’s pale neck, and Nagi was going to have a field day when they got home; even Balinese had laughed when he snared him, distracted by Aya’s ass after Crawford somehow got his coat off.
#37 - Lies
“He said he was going out, to visit his sister,” Ken informed the rest of Weiß, perplexed, “I thought she was kidnapped; does he have a different sister?”
#38 - Forever
Crawford had always had trouble planning Schuldig’s future as the man was long past his estimated life expectancy, but there’d been more consistency lately, as if Schuldig had a reason to see forever.
#39 - Overwhelmed
The loss of his sister and the return to a life of murder would probably overwhelm everyone, but Omi felt that Aya had done remarkably well holding himself together, even if he did skip work more often than ever.
#40 - Whisper
He didn’t like working, especially not the early shifts, Youji liked to savor the warmth of another’s body as long as he could in the morning, but his conscience had been oddly vocal about covering for Aya.
#41 - Wait
Plans were speeding up, the elders were nigh, and the world was just about to crash on their heads; Aya, Crawford said, would just have to wait.
#42 - Talk
Ken thought it was weird that Aya talked more to himself than he did to rest of them, but then, they all had their hang-ups; Ken was of the opinion that Aya just needed a non-relative-looking girl to talk to, and that’s how plan Find Aya A New Girl was initiated.
#43 - Search
The search for a girl started away from the shop girls, since the three Weiß figured if she was cute enough for Youji, easygoing enough for Ken, and clean enough for Omi, she just might be good enough for Aya, at least for an introduction
#44 - Hope
Kumiko didn’t mind the date, but she sincerely hoped that Aya’s friends figured out his, ahem, leanings, before they got too far in their scheme.
#45 - Eclipse
Omi felt unsettled after Kinugawa, and the subtle feel of things speeding up and losing control eclipsed his better judgment; really, he wouldn’t have told Sakura about Aya’s sister otherwise.
#46 - Gravity
The seaside fortress is vast, surrounded by crashing waves and crumbling architecture, but the Weiß follow Aya, who’s drawn to sister and Schwarz, the center of his world.
#47 - Highway
Manx drives recklessly towards the sea, and arrives too late; for her, the sister is just a consolation prize, and she wonders if Aya realizes Kritiker’s apathy towards his personal life.
#48 - Unknown
Youji coughs and gasps and naturally vomits, all while Schuldig beats on his back and they share a moment as they each fail to light cigarettes; Youji asks why, and Schuldig’s reply is vague but also direct, “You know it’s because he’d be sad.”
#49 - Lock
Aya’s been scared of many things, but losing his sister in the water may be the breaking point; Omi doesn’t even try to help when the lock on Aya’s emotions shatters, just tries to keep from crying himself.
#50 - Breathe
Aya runs down the beach to Schuldig’s arms like lovers in a movie while Youji looks away and Omi doesn’t look at all, Crawford and Manx stand to the side unimpressed, and Ken’s got a thin boy draped over his back, dragging Farfarello in the sand; seeing Aya-chan and Sakura up the hill, Ken doesn’t know what happened, but he figures that everything worked out for the best after all.
