Author's Notes: Ryan calls Speed Tim and since Speed is head over heels he lets him do it.

Speed might never exchange rings with Ryan but they have other ways to show their devotion to each other.

Ryan throws the remote at the TV screen Speed didn’t die a hero, his gun didn’t ‘misfire’, he died because he didn’t clean his gun and because Ryan didn’t want them to argue he never made him do it.

The sight of Ryan’s face the first time they make love is something Speed will remember forever.

He knows he’s not the greatest catch in the world but as he prepares for their first date Speed hopes that Ryan Wolfe will give him a chance to prove himself.

At first they just couldn’t look at each other bother were suffering from a bad case of first date nerves, but Ryan mentioned something about his masters and it’s now nearly Midnight and they still haven’t run out of things to say.

Ryan peers through the jewellery store window and he can just about make out the large dark patch of Speed’s blood on the floor.

Only after one too many drinks dose Horatio discover the secret his youngest CSI has been hiding and he vows to Speed’s memory that he’ll do all in his power to protect Ryan now he can’t.

When Horatio finally confronts him about Speed, Ryan wants to do nothing more than run away and hide.
#12 - Temptation
Sometimes Ryan looks at his gun and thinks about how easy in would be to give in and use it to join his lover.

Speed knows Ryan is going to make a great CSI; he’s looking forward to working with his lover and wonders if he’ll ever be able to talk Ryan into sex on the layout table.

When they decide to go away for a weekend Ryan plans everything right down to the last t, where as Speed would be fine with just throwing his clothes in a bag and jumping in a car - but if planning makes his lover happy who’s he to argue?

“You’re not cooking in MY kitchen” Ryan says chasing his lover out with the snap of a dishcloth to his butt. “Remember what happened last time?”
Speed grinned “Jeez almost set fire to a guy’s kitchen ONE time and you never hear the end of it”.

Some mornings only the strength of Speed’s belief that he could be a great CSI one day is enough to get Ryan out of bed and to work.

Even if Ryan were in a room full of masked people Speed would know him by his eyes.

Ryan no longer had a heart in its place was a ball of ice what was the point in caring for people? They’ve all left him in the end.

Falling in love with Ryan is the easiest thing Speed has ever done.

Speed’s beloved bike stands abandoned in his parking space nobody notices the pale young man with dark shaggy hair that picks it up.

Speed’s not much for dancing but he dose with Ryan because he’s not about to let anyone else take his place.

As he stares down at the grave Ryan try’s to tell himself that Tim isn’t down there, that what is buried there is just a shell that the real Tim has gone on to a better place- but he’s not sure he can believe it.

Ryan packs up everything around his house that belongs to Tim as reverently as if they were sacred relics.
#32 - Farewells
When Ryan gets home after a class Speed isn’t still lazing on Ryan’s couch where he left him, but there is a note on the coffee table.
‘Ryan, H called BIG case have to go to work! Sorry! See you tonight Love, Tim.

With Speed at his side Ryan feels like he could take on the world and win.

The only have one date at one of Miami’s more upscale restaurants because dressing up in formal clothes really isn’t Speed’s thing at all, even if he looks really good in them.

Ryan gets a nasty douse of flu and in his fevered dreams it’s his beloved Tim who looks after him not his Uncle Ron.

“You’re not the only one to have lost somebody Delko” Ryan says with a bitter laugh. “Some of us don’t turn it into a huge drama we just deal with it”.

“No I never met him” Ryan says when Maxine asks him if he ever met Speed.

“How long do you see this lasting then” Ryan says playfully dropping a kiss on Speed’s check.
“Forever sounds about right to me” Speed tells him and pulls Ryan to him for a proper kiss.
#39 - Overwhelmed
As Ryan lets himself be overwhelmed by Eric Delko’s kisses he try’s to forget how different they are from Tim’s.
#40 - Whisper
Speed like to whisper dirty things into Ryan’s ear in the most inappropriate places, like the line in a grocery store or one memorable time the library.

“I think we’ve waited long enough” Speed says seriously at the dinner table one night. “I want to tell people about us, I was thinking I could call my mom tonight and after my vacation I’d tell Horatio, is that ok with you?”

“Hey Mom” Speed say’s into the phone. “I want to tell you that I’ve met somebody, somebody special - his name is Ryan”.

“See if you’d let me pick your clothes up last night we wouldn’t be looking for your shoe now” Ryan say’s mock sternly then laughs at the woeful look on Speed’s face.

One large box of things quickly gathered from Tim’s place isn’t much to show for a year and a half together. But then with a sad sigh Ryan thinks they used to spend most of their time at his house, after all it was going to be their home.

As much as he loved and still loves Tim, Ryan can’t help but feel resentful toward him, is he always going to be eclipsed by a memory?

Ryan sares Tim’s kisses are gravity deifying why else would he feel like he was walking on air when they kiss?

“Horatio do you know what this key is for?” Alexx asks holding up the silver house key on Speed’s key ring when she and the red head go to pack up his apartment for his parents. “I can’t find a match to any of the locks here”.

“You know we’re going to find out who she is sooner or later” Callighie teases Speed as his cell phone beeps with the arrival of a new text message. “Save your self trouble tell us now!”

He’s on his bike with the wind in his face and his lovers arms wrapped tightly round his body and Speed has never felt more alive.

It’s so hard to breathe, he try’s because he knows if he stops Ryan is going to be left on his own, but in the end he can’t carry on and slips away in to the waiting black.
