Kuukaku's liquor cabinet seemed to go on forever, but ever since she and Soi had begun raiding its contents she noticed a strange sortage of her Captain Morgan's.

"And then you can move in with me," Soi said in a blush as they lazily considered the eventual defeat of the Arrancar in bed. "...I mean, i-if you wanted to..."

The one-armed woman tried to force a smile on her face upon seeing Soi Fong and Yoruichi embracing at the altar, but somehow all she could think of was that her friend had beaten her to the punch once again.

"It's only 'cause we've got guests right now," Kuukaku whispered with a smirk as Soi stared at the rather unremarkable shirt she'd just unwrapped, "...your REAL present is coming tonight."

Soi thought that he must love torturing her the moment Yoruichi had disappeared, but when she found that unexpected joy in Kuukaku's embrace she decided that Kami-Sama must truly be looking out for her after all.

No matter how many times someone asked her to be impartial, when asked seriously Kuukaku would defend to the death that Soi Fong was easily the most beautiful woman in the Gotei 13.

It took them a while in their fit of passion to realize that the candle Soi had knocked over in her haste was quickly setting the entire Shiba house ablaze.

They lay there for a while, sheets askew and a satisfied grin on both faces while they gasped for breath, before the smiles faded and the impact of what they had just done came crashing down on them.

Soi tentatively put her arms around Kuukaku while the older woman pressed her so close that she nearly couldn't breathe; Kuukaku couldn't believe that she was really in love with this girl and even worse, that she was too much of a coward to say so.

Soi might not ever be able to trust Yoruichi entirely again, but Kuukaku would stay, to remind her that some people would never betray her faith for anything.

No matter how upset she got over the subject of Yoruichi, Soi could never stay angry at Kuukaku for long when she gave her that funny little pout.

"This is what I want...what I really want," Soi assured the shocked woman as she tossed her Captain's robe and Correction Corps uniform aside and embraced Kuukaku, both of them knowing that she would never wear those clothes again--she was an outcast who'd abandoned everything she'd known for HER and no one else.

Kuukaku grinned as she watched Soi go over her midair combat techniques for the fiftieth time; she could easily send her higher than that without either of them leaving the ground.

Yoruichi had to admit that they complemented each other well; Kuukaku's jokester personality would ensure that Soi wouldn't be serious all the time anymore.

The alcohol had made Soi hysterical, asking Kuukaku in her drunkenness if she was a worthless idiot for being left behind by her Goddess, but the older woman pulled Soi close, assuring her that Yoruichi was the fool for abandoning someone like her.

It surprised Soi when Kuukaku had begun singing so gently to her as they lay in bed together, but it soon became the only way she could get a peaceful night's sleep.
