#01 - Motion
Every little bump the ambulance hits makes the pain Speed is feeling ten times worse, he holds tightly to the life line of Horatios hand and wishes that it was the hand of his lover.
#02 - One
“Are you alright Ryan?” Yalina asks laying a gentle hand on Ryan’s shoulder as he sits clutching Speed’s bedside clutching his hand.
“He’s the only one for me ” Ryan says without looking up. “I can’t lose him I can’t be as strong as you were”.
#03 - Hide
He isn’t sure why he hides what he is to Tim from his lovers friends but he feel’s it’s safer this way even if Doctor Woods (“Call me Alexx honey”) has most likely guessed.
#04 - Young
The whole team wonders about the young man named Ryan who visits Speed as much as they do. It’s not until the CSI’s are called to a scene were a woman has been run over by a bus that they find out he’s a patrol cop who wants to be a CSI and that his last name is Wolfe.
#05 - Wrong
Horatio watches Speed’s friend as he works and knows that despite Callighes misgivings, Ryan Wolfe has the potential to become a great CSI, after all he’s never been mistaken in his hiring choices yet.
#06 - Picture
Alexx finds the picture of Ryan tucked in Timmy’s wallet and it confirms what she already suspected, her baby has a boyfriend and he’s just the type Alexx would have picked for him.

“Ryan Wait up!” Calliegeh calls out breathlessly at his retreating back. “Speed’s awake, properly this time, and he’s asking for you!”

“I had to see you” Speed mumbles pulling Ryan’s hand to his mouth and kissing it, oblivious of the gob-smacked look on his friends faces as they watch the pair. “I thought I never would again.”

Ryan’s soft reassurances that he’s going to be fine and the love in his eyes makes Speed feel like he’s king of the world.

“I know you all must have a thousand questions” Yalina says as she herds the CSI’s out of Speed’s room. “But I think the answer is quite obvious and they both need sometime alone”.

“You’re going to have to change Tim” Ryan tells him and they both know he’s talking about his gun cleaning habits. “Because I can’t go through this again”.

“I don’t care what they might think or say” Speed says gripping Ryan’s hand tightly. “I love you and I’m never going to leave you”.

When Speed’s actions toward Ryan reveal he is more than a friend Alexx is delighted, at last she will be able to openly mother Ryan without revealing she already knew about them and scaring him off.

“Hey H, you don’t have to come at me like I’m a suspect” Speed says more amused that annoyed at the commanding tone in his friends voice. “I’ve no problem talking to you about Ryan he’s one of my favourite subjects.”

He’s not mad that Speed is gay and has a boyfriend, what piss’s Eric off is the fact his best friend never told him about it and if he’d died Eric wonders if they would have ever found out.

“Cal, Ryan isn’t the first man I’ve ever dated” Speed tells his southern friend. “But hopefully he’s going to be the last”.

Ryan watches Horatio approaching him the day after he and Tim “come out” and wonders if he’ll be kissing his CSI job goodbye.

Frank watches the way Horatio has started to stick close to the new kid and wonders what’s suddenly so special about Ryan Wolfe.

“Quit worrying about lover boy Speed” Eric says in mock annoyance. “Horatio sticks to him like glue at every crime scene we get, nothing is going to happen to him”.

“I’m going to hold you to that” Ryan says when Speed vows faithfully to clean the bathroom every week end for a month in return for Ryan agreeing to spend their day off at the Classic Motorbike Road Show.

Ron Wolfe knows his nephew better than any other member of his family; he loves the boy like his own yet he wonders how Ryan managed to fool him about his ‘friend’ Tim for so long.

“I promise he’ll be gentle with you Ryan” Speed says as Ryan stares doubtfully at the salon door. “You said you wanted a new look and this guy cuts Eric’s hair and you know how fussy HE can be”.

Speed notices the attention Eric pays to Ryan and wonders if he wasn’t the only one keeping secrets about his sexuality or if his sense of paranoia just runs rampant when the idea of Ryan and other men pops into his head.

Ryan’s not impressed when he opens the door to a drunken Tim and Eric, at any other time he might be flattered to be called a ‘Vision of loveliness’ but not at two in the morning.

Maxine stares at the sight of Tim Speed kissing Ryan Wolfe for a few minutes before shrugging her shoulders and walking out of the locker room to give them some privacy; in this job, she thought, you learnt something new everyday.

“If somebody offered you a million dollars to sleep with Wolfe would you take them up on it?” Frank asks as he and Speed watch their money and jealousy blinded murderer being lead away. “No Ryan would kill me for even considering it” Speed replies.

“Horatio told me what happened at the chop shop” Speed said pulling Ryan against his body, his arms locking tightly round Ryan’s middle. “Thank God you’re alright”.

Tim is alive, he’s home now he’s going to be fine but Ryan still can’t help driving by the jewellery store where Tim was shot and seeing ghostly images of what might have been.

Speed isn’t amused to receive a book entitled ‘Gun matince for Dummies’ from Cal and Eric but grudgingly concedes that they have a point, especially when Cal tells him it’s not just himself he’s got to think of now that there’s Ryan too.
#32 - Eye
When Eric picks him up from the hospital after he’s injured by the nail gun Ryan is rather amuse to see that he’s not the only one with a bruised and puffy eye and makes up his mind to tell Tim that while he appreciates the gesture he can fight his own battles.
#33 - Blur
Speed just stands back to watch the human blurs of motion that are Alexx and Ryan as the pair unpack the boxes of Speed’s things and sort them into their new home, he knows better to interfere.
#34 - Sing
Ryan has a great voice Speed thinks as he listens to the younger man singing in the shower, he still prefers the noises Ryan makes in bed though.
#35 - Sudden
It comes to her in a blinding flash why Tim Speed hates her so much, he likes Ryan and Natalia is the one he took to see Mexican wrestling, not him.

Speed’s parents except Ryan so quickly and without question that he stops his mother and asks her “Who are you and what did you do with my Mom and Dad?” His mother laughs, pats him the cheek and tells him what a lovely young man Ryan is.

“Isn’t it about time you bought him home to meet the rest of the family?” questions Speed’s father as the pair of them watch his mother and Ryan in the kitchen as his Mom teaches him how to make Speed’s favourite childhood dish.

Ryan watches Tim fussing round his bike and grins to himself finely he’s got the smart, sexy and very cool boyfriend that he always (secretly) wanted when he was in high school.

“It’s him or us Ryan” his mother tells him, disgust contorting her face into an ugly grimace as she attempts to stare Tim down. “Your family or him”.

“You‘d better be worth it” Ron Wolfe says glaring at Speed before following Ryan‘s parents out of the door. “And I’m warning you now if you EVER hurt my nephew I’ll make sure it‘s the last thing you ever do”.

“I don’t know what I was expecting” Ryan says his voice muffled against Speed’s chest. “But they’ve never really been bothered about the choices I’ve made in my life before.”

As he stares at the wall trying to pick the colour he likes best out of the samples, Speed wonders how Ryan managed to domesticated him without him realizing it.

Callighe likes to watch Speed and Ryan’s interactions it’s obvious they both love each other and a naughty part of her wonders about what they get up to in the bedroom and how much beer she’ll need to supply Speed with till he gives up details.

“Hey Ryan do you think I should trade the bike in?” Speed asks “Get a car?” He takes Ryan’s snort of laughter in reply as a no.

“At the risk of sounding like something out of a chick flick” Speed confides to Eric. “He’s the other part of my soul”.

Speed watches Ryan like he the most precious thing in the world because to him the younger man is, he smiles as Ryan looks up from his work because he can see the same look in Ryan‘s eyes.

“I hope your not too hungry Ry” Speed says mournfully as he pulls their ruined dinner from the oven. “But in my defence I was hungry for something other than food - we both were.”

This is his life, he thinks as he watch’s the sunrise and listens to the soft sounds his lover makes in his sleep. This is his life and he LOVES it.
