It is yet another one of those school ski trips and Ishida sits by the fire and watches his classmates rush outside, bright green jackets and flourescent woolly hats dot the landscape because it is cold outside (a snowball flung by Kurosaki catches the back of Kuchiki's head; her cheeks are red and her breath out in warm clouds of smoke as she chases him around looking for revenge), it has to be cold, at least, colder than it is in here, and he clutches at his arms and realises that no matter how much he rubs them, he cannot keep the cold at bay.
