Time
Takashi used to think it was his lack of time that kept him from having a girlfriend until he meets Tuti and realizes that it isn't so much his lack of time, but more his lack of interest in having one.
Thousand
All it takes is a greeting and handshake (along with a cute impish grin) to explain why after thousands of dates he is still very much single, because it isn't until the day he meets Takashi that Tuti understands exactly why all his previous girlfriends never worked out.
Learn
When he accepted the role of Kikumaru Eiji, Takashi never dreamed he would be required to learn actual tennis moves (which in hindsight was a stupid assumption), but with Tuti as his tutor, there really is no point in complaining.
Hide
"See, I told you, you would like him," Kimeru states smugly, and Tuti briefly wonders if he should admit just how much he likes Takashi, or if there is any point in trying to hide his feelings from their all knowing friend.
History
Their history may not be extensive, but there is no denying when they share a look, both smiling in response and knowing what the other is thinking, that to Takashi it feels like they've known each other forever.
Book
There are some days when Tuti wishes for an instruction manual on how to properly court one's friend without ruining said friendship and ending up looking like a total idiot.
Command
Takashi always wondered if his attraction to his stage partner was all part of Tuti's natural ability to command attention, until the day walks into one of the theater's rest areas and finds Tuti sacked out on a couch and realizes that even when Tuti isn't looking for attention, he still finds himself drawn to the man nonetheless.
Change
"Are you sure," Eiji asks, adding, "I mean what changed your preference," and the only response Tuti can come up with is, "Takashi."
Wait
"Wait, are you saying you are attracted to... Tuti," Kimeru sounds surprised, almost shocked, and Takashi nods his head in affirmation, admitting the truth, surprised himself that Kimeru hadn't already figured it out.
King
"You know, just because you declare something to be so doesn't mean I'm going to bow down and accept and do what's being ordered," Tuti heatedly returns, because there is no way he is going to tell Takashi he loves him when he doesn't even know if that is what he feels towards his friend.
Young
"Young love," Kimeru says and Takashi knows his friend is teasing because really, Kimeru is younger than he, but he can't help disagreeing because this, whatever this thing with Tuti is, doesn't feel anything like a young school boy's crush.
Shadow
Tuti stands in the shadows, off from the theater's side door, waiting for Takashi to exit, and it's not until he lights cigarette number three that his hands finally settle into a barely noticeable shake.
Last
Takashi is the last of the cast to leave the building, but not the last on the premise he notes seeing a familiar dark figure off to the door's side snuffing out a cigarette with a shoe tip, before the man jogs to catch up with him, inquiring, "Want to get a drink?"
Hunger
"I'm hungry," Takashi states, the words startling him because they haven't shared a single word beyond his initial invitation and Takashi's acceptance during their walk to the bar, but Tuti hides his surprise with a laugh and a nod, agreeing, "Me too."
Now
It was only natural to accept Tuti's invitation for drinks, but now as he struggles to support Tuti and walk at the same time Takashi questions whether it was such a wise decision to accept the invitation, especially when Tuti whispers into his ear, "I like Takashi... a lot."
Vision
He doesn't know where he is, what day it is, or even the time, and opening his eyes doesn't even help because he can't see straight, but when he feels soothing fingers rubbing his scalp, accompanied by a whispered tease, "He lives," Tuti remembers, Takashi's apartment, and quickly amends that he really needs to cut back on his drinking.
Brother
When Takashi looks around at his fellow cast members, the first word that pops to mind is brothers, because they are all like a huge family laughing, fighting and teasing, until his eyes settle on Tuti, then the word quickly changes to lover, but whether that is something he can have remains to be discovered.
Wall
There are days when he feels like beating his head against a wall, and there are other days when he literally does, because it's the only thing he can think of doing to knock any sense into his head and keep himself from admitting to Takashi that there is more he wants from Takashi than simple friendship.
Safe
Concealing the truth, denying his feelings towards his stage partner and friend, is a safety barrier he can no longer hide behind, because the longer he shields Tuti from the truth, the more damage that secret causes to their friendship and working relationship.
Wrong
Tuti stares at Takashi for the longest time, unbeknownst to his stage partner, trying to figure out what exactly is wrong or different today than any other day, and the answer doesn't hit him until he realizes that Takashi is refusing to look at him, even when addressed.
Need
"We need to talk," Takashi states, not looking Tuti in the eye, and walks out of the dressing room without checking to make sure Tuti follows.
Torn
He is torn between following Takashi and running the other direction, because while he wants to know what has been bothering his friend, he fears whatever Takashi is about to tell him will change their friendship forever.
Attention
They stand outside the theater, hopefully out of earshot of their nosy cast mates, and he has Tuti's full attention for what feels like the first time, but if were to be honest with himself, this isn't the first time, and hopefully not the last.
Never
While a nervous, fidgety and apprehensive Takashi is cute, and all he wants to do is wrap his arms around his friend to reassure Takashi that everything will be all right, Tuti can't help worrying that perhaps it never will.
Naked
"I want us to be more than just friends," Takashi says, or more precisely, blurts out quickly because he knows if he doesn't say it now, he never will, and in the end he is left feeling more exposed fully clothed than he has ever felt before with nothing on at all.
Eye
Tuti doesn't believe Takashi's confession because to believe the words uttered by his friend is like his dreams coming true, but when he finally looks up, after having a good laugh at himself, meeting Takashi's hurt and embarrassed eyes, Tuti realizes his timing (as well as his reaction) is way off as usual.
One
The one reaction he never expected is for Tuti to laugh at him, but laugh Tuti did and all Takashi can do in retaliation is turn his back and walk away from the one thing in life he truly wants.
Mad
Tuti hates when Takashi is mad at him, but as he stares at the closed apartment door that his friend refuses to open, Tuti realizes what he hates even more is not knowing if he is capable of making things right again.
Stop
"You should let him in," Kimeru suggests, causing Takashi to stop pacing to turn his fevered glare from the door to Kimeru who shrugs and adds, "How else is he supposed to apologize?"
Gentle
"Takashi," Tuti whispers gently, leaning against the closed door, knowing full well he isn't being heard which is why he's startled when he stumbles through the threshold, but instead of Takashi he finds himself staring up at Kimeru who says, “He can be as stubborn as you can be stupid.”
Fortune
He sometimes wonders if he is fortunate having Kimeru as his best friend, or cursed, whichever the case he is thankful for the kick in the head (albeit a little embarrassed by needing it) from his friend as Kimeru leaves a shocked and sputtering Tuti in his apartment door's threshold.
Fool
"I've been such a fool," Tuti says, but somehow he knows that's not enough, and when Takashi's glare doesn't relent, he corrects himself quickly by adding, "Okay, okay, I've been an ass."
Drive
His initial reaction is to snort at the understatement of the year (because there are many instances of when Tuti has been an ass), in hopes of driving Tuti away, but no matter how much he wants Tuti to leave, Takashi wants him to stay just as equally.
Believe
"Takashi," but Tuti pauses at the fiery glare, swallows the lump in his throat and continues adding, "I wasn't laughing at you, at what you said... I just couldn't believe..."
Ghost
There is a ghost of blush on Tuti's cheeks as the normally overly confident and boisterous man's head ducks, words trailing off and it's then that Takashi finally gets it, finally understands without the words being said, that Tuti returns his feelings.
Power
His last vestige of willpower breaks when Takashi looks at him expectantly, waiting for him to continue what he can't even remember because all he can think about is how much he wants to kiss Takashi's pouting lips, and then he is.
Blur
It's a blur of clumsy footwork, a struggle with clothes, and nonstop kissing that brings them crashing down on his narrow bed, causing him to laugh nervously, saying, "I can't believe this is happening," to which Tuti returns, looking more serious than Takashi has ever seen the other man before, "I can't believe this hasn't happened sooner."
Soul
Looking down at the sleeping man next to him, Tuti realizes that for the first time in his life his soul is at peace, and when Takashi rolls closer, snuggling against him, Tuti places a kiss on Takashi's forehead, hoping Takashi's soul is finally at peace too.
Motion
The rocking motion of the train is lulling after a long day of practice, too lulling, Takashi amends as he finds himself leaning more and more heavily against Tuti's side while his head bobs more than once seeking sleep.
Sudden
One moment the musical's run ends, and suddenly the next Takashi's work whisks his new boyfriend away for who knows how long, leaving Tuti fearing that his own personal history as a boyfriend will repeat and in the end he will find himself alone once again.
God
The gods must be against us, Takashi thinks as he boards the plane that will separate him from Tuti for the first time since they admitted their feelings to one another, but as he takes his seat and attempts to turn his cell phone off he receives a text message that simply states, I miss my boyfriend, and he feels marginally better because he's not the only one.
Harm
What's the harm, Tuti thinks, cell phone still in hand after texting a quick message to Takashi to say what he couldn't face to face, feeling a little embarrassed, but then his phone rings and he feels a little less embarrassed after reading Takashi's reply, I miss my boyfriend too.
Hold
It has been over a month since he's seen his boyfriend, and while there are a million ways he'd planned to show Tuti just how much he missed him, in the end Takashi is too exhausted to move, much less think or speak, so he settles for being held and told how much he's been missed.
Precious
Some days Tuti thinks his boyfriend works way too hard, or perhaps that he himself not hard enough, but whatever the case, at the end of a long and grueling day, after a month of being separated by work, Tuti wraps his arms around an exhausted Takashi and vows to make the most of their precious time together.
Sing
Surprisingly, the singing is all off key, which Takashi finds ironic considering the number of people gathered whom he has starred in a musical or two with, but no matter the key, or that the song is being sung in what barely passes as acceptable English, the genuine smile on Tuti's face as they sing Happy Birthday is priceless.
Cool
The button-down shirt is a patchwork of colorful floral prints (an item that previously never would have been deemed cool enough to carry the Blossom label), but sewn into the shirt's collar is the familiar tag, and when he looks up questioning Takashi with his eyes, Takashi's only response is a shrug and, "It's growing on me."
Wash
"Thank you," Tuti says, placing a kiss on the side of his neck, arms wrapping around his waste, as he finishes washing up the party dishes, and Takashi can't help thinking that he could get used to this domesticity.
Goodbye
Every time they part, whether it's at the end of rehearsal, after a dinner out with the rest of the cast, or even following an intimate evening spent together, it gets harder and harder to say goodbye, which is the reason why instead of saying goodbye tonight, Tuti says, "Stay with me, here, forever."
Picture
"What are you doing," Tuti asks as he climbs back into bed next to Tuti, presses his cheek against Tuit's and holds his camera phone at arm's length before not really answering and saying, "Just smile for the camera."
Child
"Please tell me you aren't posting this," Tuti pleads as they view the photo that is far from suitable for Takashi's nearly daily blog entries, and the child like pout worries him for a moment before Takashi breaks out in a wide grin and says, "Nah, this is going to be the photo associated with our home number."
