Fandom: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Pairing: Greg Sanders/Sara Sidle
Theme set: Epsilon
Rating: PG
Notes: The timing is all over the place. So at some points, Greg's a CSI and at others, he's back to being a lab tech. XP So don't get too confused. Also, includes spoilers up to halfway through Season 7. Especially a VERY important Greg episode. (You who have seen it know what I'm talking about.) Lastly, this took a LOT longer than I expected... And I kinda fudge with the sentences. So more than likely, a couple are just run-ons.
#1 - Motion
He didn't know when it had started, but he realized it when he always managed to catch her figure passing and follow her path.
#2 - Cool
Greg always tried to impress Sara, but she didn't need him to act cool, just his regular geeky self.
#3 - Young
She had never paid attention to his age, until he asked her out and she sought for a reason to say no.
#4 - Last
It wasn't uncommon for Greg to be chosen last for anything, but when Sara finally agreed to go out with him, he wouldn't mind being the last guy she would ever date.
#5 - Wrong
Sara rarely thought she was wrong in her opinions, but when she saw the softer side of the quirky lab tech, she thought she might have to change her mind for once.
#6 - Gentle
His movements were always so careful and concentrated that Sara might even say that he had a gentle touch with his sample, and she hoped that he was like that with other aspects of his life.
#7 - One
Greg loved the idea that lobsters mated for life, so when he told her that she was his lobster (which prompted a funny face from Sara), he didn't care because he knew what he meant.
#8 - Thousand
Sara had heard of the story of how making a thousand paper cranes granted a wish, and she had never wanted an obvious falsehood to be true as much as she did when she heard the news of Greg's attack.
#9 - King
When Greg came into work on Halloween with a fake crown, he made sure to give Sara the matching crown and proclaimed loudly that they were King and Queen of the Lab.
#10 - Learn
He had been like an eager beaver during his training to become a CSI, and Sara had to say that helping him learn wasn't half bad.
#11 - Blur
Their relationship went through its "steps" in such a whirlwind that Sara wanted to just pause time and take in the strange feelings that Greg was prompting from her.
#12 - Wait
Greg wasn't so stupid that he couldn't see her attraction for their boss, but he could wait for her to open her eyes after getting hurt by Grissom (and he was sure Grissom would, unfortunately enough) because she was worth it in the long run.
#13 - Change
Anyone could see the change in Greg's character during his transition from a lab tech to a CSI, and Sara wasn't entirely sure she liked it.
#14 - Command
There is nothing better to Greg to have Sara being bossy, vibrant and alive, than to be moping and sad.
#15 - Hold
“Greg!” she'd say, her voice filled with such irritation that it'd make Greg laugh to himself in amusement before handing over the sheet of results wondering for the next time how long he could hold it before she pulled that voice.
#16 - Need
She hated being dependent on anyone, but the fact was that she needed him around nowadays to feel better, especially after a hard day at work.
#17 - Vision
He hadn't been lying when he said he knew that Sidle scent anywhere and it didn't hurt that he knew her voice just as well, but he really wished that at least one of his eyes could open just to see her face and eyes be filled with the concern he could hear in her voice.
#18 - Attention
Greg always had to fight for her attention whenever Grissom happened to pass by, so when he “accidentally” kissed her as she turned to look at their boss, he was more surprised when she returned the kiss.
#19 - Soul
Sara didn't believe in the concepts of soul mates, but if she did, she supposed Greg would be the closest form to her soul mate as was possible.
#20 - Picture
She was surprisingly a fan of momentos and thus, constantly insisted that they take pictures at any chance which Greg was more than happy to participate in.
#21 - Fool
Greg wondered, as he stared at Sara kissing Grissom, who was the bigger fool at this point: Sara for falling for a man who was obviously emotionally blocked or Greg for believing that Sara had finally fallen for him.
#22 - Mad
Whenever Sara was angry at him, he rarely spoke; he'd learn after all these years that all she really wanted during those moments were to rant and if he agreed, nod, and if he didn't, shut his mouth.
#23 - Child
Sara had never been much of a baby lover, but as she watched Greg care for his baby cousin, she mused that perhaps she could carry that man's child if not only just to watch him with their baby.
#24 - Now
She believed in the now and lived with that, not expecting change, but with Greg, she began to think of the future and didn't mind it at all.
#25 - Shadow
As with anyone, her past caught up with her and left her feeling as though she was a shadow of her former self, but when he was around her, she felt like she could return to being alive.
#26 - Goodbye
Greg wanted her (there was no doubt about that), but he knew that the only way to get her to realize her feelings was to just say "Good-bye."
#27 - Hide
Sara wanted to stay inside her room and just curl up into a ball, but when she heard his voice and his frantic knocking at the door, she could feel herself getting up to let him in.
#28 - Fortune
Greg rarely ever flaunted the money he'd saved up from being a lab tech, but when he wanted to take her on a fancy, extravagant date, he'd go all out, no matter the cost.
#29 - Safe
The night scared him more often nowadays and he had a hard time driving anywhere without fearing something would pop out of the shadows, but when he felt her hand on top of his, he thought he could deal just a little better.
#30 - Ghost
She wasn't exactly without personal issues and she had ghosts in her past that she never wanted to talk about, but Greg vowed that he'd get her to open up and finally tell him what exactly plagued her 24/7.
#31 - Book
Sara grabbed the book out of Greg's hand, grinning at him, as she asked, to his surprise, if he was free for lunch.
#32 - Eye
As Greg laid in bed, he could almost vaguely see Sara in his bed, next to his spot or in his arms, but he believed that he would never see her there again.
#33 - Never
As he entered her unlocked apartment, after receiving her sob-ridden phone call, he heard glass shatter in her room and, upon entering, found her sobbing harder and vowed therein to never make her cry like that ever again.
#34 - Sing
Sara's voice flittered through the door as he entered the apartment and Greg grinned that he had finally caught her singing and quickly made a move to record her singing with his phone.
#35 - Sudden
They had been in the break room, just relaxing, when Sara had suddenly leaned over to kiss him and all Greg could do was stare after she broke the kiss.
#36 - Stop
She could see that things were going too far between them, and she was still in love with Grissom, so she had no choice but to tell him, face to face, that they had stop whatever they were doing and he had to move on.
#37 - Time
When he woke up one morning and could feel Sara in his arms, still asleep, Greg closed his eyes and froze the moment in his mind, relishing in the fact that she was with him.
#38 - Wash
Water was splattered all over the place with Greg and Sara laughing, sprawled on the floor in sheer joy with their task of cleaning up the dishes completely forgotten.
#39 - Torn
Sara could still hear his words of "Good-bye" and couldn't explain why her heart felt like it had broken into pieces as she laid awake next to the one she thought she wanted.
#40 - History
Sara didn't know what it was or how it happened, but her type had always been sexy, mature, a little older, professor-type kind of men; so when the hot, kinda quirky, younger lab tech asked her out, she was surprised to find herself saying “Yes.”
#41 - Power
She had always wondered who "wore the pants" in their relationship, and when she told him to run to the store to buy her tampons and he went not only willingly, but rather enthusiastically, she no longer wondered.
#42 - Bother
Greg hated when she looked at him with disdain; it made him feel like he was like a fly on the wall, an irritating fly that kept flying around one's head and never left one alone.
#43 - God
After Greg's attack, they had gotten a case in a church and Sara, unconsciously, prayed for Greg's well-being and that his scars wouldn't be as deep as her own.
#44 - Wall
She had a barrier around her at all times and Greg fought to break it, no matter how difficult it was proving to be.
#45 - Naked
It would have been so convenient to just look at Sara when they shared that contamination shower together, but either feelings of fear or guilt caused him not to look at all; at least he had risked enough to see that butterfly tattoo.
#46 - Drive
"I'm driving!" she'd always say and Greg would just smile and nod, no longer fighting it; she seemed to enjoy driving after all and who was he to take away her happiness?
#47 - Harm
"Do no harm," was a phrase she had always had to repeat to herself, but when she stared through the interrogation room mirror and watched the interrogation with the guy who led Greg's attack, Sara wasn't sure if she could keep herself in line this time.
#48 - Precious
Greg would open up his sock drawer over and over again, trying to make a decision, when she beat him to it, looked inside the drawer and placed the small diamond ring on her finger, giving him a smile in the process.
#49 - Hunger
Sara was starving, not in the regular sense, that is; this was what she was thinking as she stared through the glass doors of the break room and into Greg's lab and watched as he started dancing to whatever music he was blasting.
#50 - Believe
Greg always believed in happily ever after, and as he laid next to his wife, he was glad he did.
