JEM -- Pizzazz/Roxy Sentences

Sep 01, 2007 03:24

Fandom: JEM
Pairing: Phyllis "Pizzazz" Gabor/Roxanne "Roxy" Pelligrini
Theme set: Epsilon
Rating: R

I grouped the sentences if they would go together, and ended up referencing a lot of stuff that happened in the cartoon series. Whenever that happened, I labeled the group with the episode name and rearranged things to be chronological. When the sections are unlabled, that means that they do not reference a canon moment and are just straight from my own craziness. The only exception is the very last part, which has a label but is post-series.

(By the way, there is absolutely no overt evidence in the JEM cartoon series that Pizzazz and Roxy were a couple -- it's all subtext and conjecture.)

#01 - Motion
It's all intentional -- the way Pizzazz moves, stalking across the stage like a fierce jungle cat, to make people watch her with that adoring hunger -- Roxy knows this, but it doesn't stop her from wanting to smash their faces in for looking at her woman.

---------------

#02 - Cool
"Roxanne, be cool," is what Link always used to say when she lost her temper, but Pizzazz wants the fire that burns inside Roxy's skin.

---------------

#03 - Young
Pizzazz has always been the confident leader of the Misfits, but sometimes she gets a soft, vulnerable look in her eyes and Roxy remembers how young she was when her mother left her.

---------------

#06 - Gentle
Gentleness isn't something that Pizzazz encourages -- the band can't afford to lose their edge, ever -- but she treasures the memory of their first kiss, when Roxy had been so hesitant to press her soft lips over Pizzazz's.

---------------

Pre-Truly Outrageous to Starbright
#14 - Command
"Shut up," Roxy growls, shoving Pizzazz against the wall and laying harsh, passionate kisses against her soft skin; the surprising thing is, Pizzazz heeds the command.

#12 - Wait
Roxy's never been the kind of girl to stick around after sex, finding it much safer to get out afterwards, but she curls a lock of Phyllis's electric green hair around her finger and decides that maybe waiting to see what happens wouldn't be so bad.

#22 - Mad
Pizzazz's fingers twine with her own, and Roxy knows that she has an anchor in the mad mad mad world of rock-and-roll that she's been thrown into.

#28 - Fortune
When Roxy says, "Wow, Pizzazz, we never knew your father was this rich," Pizzazz desperately hopes that she's still the same person in Roxy's eyes.

---------------

Starbright
#45 - Naked
Roxy steps out of the dressing room in her scanty jungle-scene costume -- she sees the admiring, calculating smile on Pizzazz's lips, the gleam of lust in her green eyes -- and feels more exposed than if she were naked.

---------------

#08 - Thousand
As they break the surface of the mansion's pool together, Pizzazzz cards her fingers through Roxy's wet hair, marveling at how her girlfriend's platinum white hair catch the sun, glittering like a thousand luminous strands of starlight in her hands.

---------------

Adventure in China
#44 - Wall
Having thwarted the Misfits' attempt at taking over the Great Wall concert, the Holograms call out a mocking: "Enjoy the show, girls!" (throwing the Misfits' words from the day before back at them) and this time, it's Roxy having to grab Pizzazz's arm in order to stop her bandmate from throwing a punch at Jem.

---------------

#09 - King
Pizzazz can't take her eyes off of Roxy's hands today -- they are deceptively slim and pretty, hiding strength and nimbleness as they flutter indecisively among the colored squares -- and completely misses her chance to block the bassist's next move, startling when Roxy says smugly, "King me."

---------------

The Music Awards
#15 - Hold
As Pizzazz watches the scene of Jem's benefit concert with disbelief, the Best New Rock Group Award slips from her hands, shattering at her feet; then Roxy is suddenly there to hold on to her, and keep her from shattering as well.

---------------

#13 - Change
Stormer is actually quite relieved when Roxy moves into Pizzazz's suite of rooms; it's a welcome change from the two of them sneaking around so noisily in the middle of the night.

---------------

#18 - Attention
Not all of Pizzazz's shrieks are from the want of attention, but from a surfeit of it at Roxy's hands.

---------------

#19 - Soul
Sometimes, Roxy can hardly move her hands after one of their concerts -- she pours her heart and soul into her playing, her bass guitar giving voice to what she can't express in words -- and Pizzazz will patiently massage her fingers into relaxing again.

---------------

The Rock Fashion Book
#20 - Picture
Roxy hates doing fashion spreads; it’s not that she believes in the superstition of the camera taking a piece of one’s soul, but that the pictures never look like the person she sees in the mirror.

#41 - Power
Roxy understands that sometimes, particularly after a failure to bring down Jem and claim the throne as rock queen of L.A., Pizzazz needs to feel power over people -- but she really wishes that Pizzazz would use softer cord.

#24 - Now
“Now, Pizzazz, please!” Roxy cries, but Pizzazz only smiles her sweetest smile and whispers: “Patience.”

---------------

#29 - Safe
When she finds out that Roxy had broken the combination on Daddy's wall safe -- leaving every valuable untouched, but cramming it full-to-bursting with pictures of Pizzazz (even the ones from when she was younger, called Phyllis) -- all Pizzazz can do is laugh, even though Daddy is utterly annoyed.

#30 - Ghost
There are ghosts in the Gabor Mansion, Roxy is sure of it -- sometimes, she hears a child’s laughter when she wanders the hallways -- but Pizzazz insists that there are no ghosts, only old memories.

---------------

#32 - Eye
When Pizzazz comes downstairs to breakfast one day, Roxy surprises her with a bouquet of flowers and a breathless "Happy birthday!"...and Pizzazz pretends that she has something in her eye, too embarrassed to admit that Roxy's made her happy enough to cry.

---------------

#33 - Never
She watches Pizzazz sleep; it's not a protective thing, and it's not because she can't get enough of looking at her -- Roxy has just never been able to sleep for longer than three hours, and Pizzazz loves her beauty sleep.

---------------

#34 - Sing
Phyllis had a great voice, full of emotion and power, but her singing transcended even the power of that when she took the stage-name and persona of "Pizzazz".

---------------

#35 - Sudden
They've been together for nearly two years -- she should be used to this by now -- but Roxy always feels off-balance in the aftermath of Pizzazz's sudden mood-swings.

---------------

#37 - Time
Roxy feels like punching the wall -- she's so frustrated that Pizzazz can't get a handle on the complex time signature of Stormer's latest song.

---------------

#38 - Wash
All Pizzazz wanted was to get in the big tub after the Misfits' latest tour and wash the dust of the road off her skin, but Roxy had other ideas...

---------------

Island of Deception
#39 - Torn
Roxy can handle the sight of blood (of course she can, how many fistfights has she been in?), but not the sight of Pizzazz's bleeding hands, with three of her nails torn to the quick from climbing up the island mountain.

---------------

#40 - History
Jem and the Holograms will never see it, but there is deep history between the Misfits, just as deep as the sisterly bonds of their band -- and in the case of Pizzazz and Roxy -- deeper even than that.

---------------
Glitter and Gold
#17 - Vision
The best thing that Roxy has seen all year, without a doubt, is Pizzazz wearing that short purple dress with the red-and-yellow frills -- because that means there's nothing underneath but a little purple silk thong.

---------------

#43 - God
Pizzazz wonders if God cares about her at all, because her life has been nothing but a string of tantilizing small successes followed by crushing failures, but she never wonders if Roxy cares.

---------------

The Talent Search
#04 - Last
Roxy never had to worry before, but when Jetta joins the band, she gets the feeling that she might soon be last in line for Pizzazz's affections.

#05 - Wrong
Pizzazz takes great pleasure in proving Roxy's assumptions all wrong.

---------------

#25 - Shadow
Sometimes, when Stormer chatters blithely about her happy childhood, Pizzazz wants to shake her and tell her to shut up, because that makes the shadows of bad memories pass over Roxy's face.

---------------

The Treasure Hunt
#23 - Child
Not caring that she's only a little girl, Pizzazz itches to slap Molly across the face, particularly when Eric mutters that he is reminded of her by the brat; however, once she's back in the van, Roxy whispers ideas about a better way to use her hands...

---------------

#36 - Stop
She sees her lover smiling and hopes that she never stops.

---------------

Roxy Rumbles
#27 - Hide
Roxy's always been the one to stand up for her friends and herself, but when Jetta and (worst of all) Pizzazz start mocking her for not knowing how to read, all she really wants to do is hide her face in her hands and cry, which is why she can hardly even speak when she walks out of Eric's office.

#11 - Blur
A few days later, when Roxy announces her intentions to leave the band and return to her hometown, Pizzazz screams, "Nobody walks out on m-- the Misfits!" at the pink-and-white blur that Roxy has become through her tears.

#21 - Fool
Pizzazz locks herself in the bathroom on the flight to Philadelphia, crying tears of anger and despair, knowing that she's not really mad at Roxy, even if Roxy walking out on the band made her feel like a fool.

---------------
Post-Roxy Rumbles
#31 - Book
"I...see...the boy," Roxy sounds out the words with difficulty, tracing her finger along the page, and Pizzazz listens on the other side of the door, holding her breath, "...see him...r-run."

#42 - Bother
Roxy's voice is ragged with frustration and unshed tears when she screams, "Oh, why do I even bother?" and throws the copy of 'My 1st Reader' against the door; Pizzazz bites her lip and pretends not to hear, knowing that she'd only injure Roxy's pride if she went in now.

#50 - Believe
She expects to hear Roxy get up and retrieve the book, but when muffled sobs reach her ears instead, Pizzazz slips into the room without knocking and embraces Roxy tightly; she holds on and whispers, "I believe in you, baby -- and I'm sorry."

#10 - Learn
Roxy stumbles over the words on the card, and for a moment, Pizzazz curses herself for forgetting that Roxy only recently learned to read; however, she decides that there are other ways to make the meaning 'I love you' perfectly clear.

---------------

The Stingers Hit Town
#07 - One
Men are okay, in Roxy's book (though she likes women a whole lot better); Riot is the one who changed all that, when he stole Pizzazz's heart.

#16 - Need
Pizzazz comes back to the Misfits after finally accepting Riot's rejection of her love, but she's changed, scared of being turned away when she should have returned triumphant; as Roxy embraces the trembling form of her beloved, she feels the primal urge to bloody her fists on Riot's pretty face.

---------------

Post-A Father Should Be (series finale)
#49 - Hunger
"I'm starving," Pizzazz declares, "Let's go get something to eat."

#46 - Drive
Pizzazz is probably the least cautious driver on the West Coast, but Roxy never hesitates to jump in the car with her -- particularly when Pizzazz offers to buy dinner.

#47 - Harm
It's like something out of a nightmare, seeing Jem's roadster (that pink monstrosity of a car) bearing down on their BMW -- only for an instant, though, before the two cars impact at the intersection -- and Pizzazz screams as she is thrown against her door, and shattered glass rains down on her, slashing at her flesh.

#48 - Precious
She wakes up in the hospital; Stormer tells her the awful news (it was Rio driving the roadster, he was absolutely wasted) and Pizzazz howls for Roxy, unable to believe that her most precious treasure has been taken from her.

#26 - Goodbye
She has only been really alive with Roxy in her arms, but now she feels like she's the dead one, as her fingers clench and hot pink nails dig into the wood of the casket -- she swears to her lover and to herself that if it's the last thing she does, she'll make Rio Pacheco pay for this.
