#09 - War - She wanted to believe that it was the war that caused her to become close to Charlie.
#01 - Walking - Hermione remembered walking with Charlie one night when she had visited the Burrow shortly after the Second World War ended, and found herself wondering why she had not bothered to get to know this Weasley brother better.
#04 - Wonder - As they shared a laugh over coffee, Charlie wondered why he had never noticed Hermione more when she was at the Burrow.
#03 - Wishes - Hermione was never one to make wishes, but she found that as she and Charlie began to get to know each other better, she was wishing she could extend their time together; forever, perhaps.
#06 - Whimsy - She dreamed of what it would be like to kiss him; he dreamed of what she looked like under her robes.
#02 - Waltz - Even though Hermione attended Harry and Ginny’s engagement party, and she waltzed with Ron, she half wished that she was waltzing with Charlie.
#10 - Wedding - The first time he kissed her was in a secluded spot under a tree at Harry and Ginny’s wedding.
#41 - Nowhere - She felt like her life had been going nowhere before Charlie kissed her.
#13 - Bias - Charlie tried not to be biased when it came to comparing his old girlfriends, but he found that Hermione was the one who had all his old girlfriends beat.
#08 - Whiskey and rum - He realized that the only way to get her face out of his mind was by drinking a shot of whiskey, and then following that up with rum.
#07 - Waste/Wasteland - His head felt full of waste when he woke up the morning after he had decided to chase that bottle of whiskey with the bottle of rum; the now empty bottles littered his floor
#05 - Worry - The constant worry that she was doing something wrong; something to betray Ron, haunted her.
#22 - Quirks - Hermione made it a habit to hide her quirks from everyone; despite this, she found that Charlie was the only one who could find them out - this ability unnerved her, as well as excited her.
#31 - Smirk - They both knew that they could not pull off a smirk without looking ridiculous, or laughing every time they tried.
#15 - Breathing - “Have you ever loved someone so much that the mere thought of them makes breathing hard?” she asked him once; Hermione found his answer to be disconcerting, for the way he had said ‘yes’ was slightly enigmatic, and at the same time, so full of fervor, she had to turn away.
#20 - Bane - The fact that she was seeing Charlie behind Ron’s back was a nagging thought that caused her more than enough grief when she was at work.
#12 - Blessing - Charlie knew that getting a blessing from his parents would be easy, Ron would be another story.
#27 - Jester - They both could not help but think that what they were doing was going to make Ron look like the biggest fool in the world.
#48 - Virtuous - Charlie knew the virtuous thing to do would be to stay as far away from Hermione as possible; at least until things with Ron had been resolved.
#28 - Jousting - The concept of two knights jousting in an arena in medieval times makes Hermione think that that might just happen between Charlie and Ron - two knights battling it out for the heart of their princess.
#50 - Defeat - Hermione lowered her hands in defeat when Charlie pressed his lips to hers, any vestige of control she had leaving her body.
#14 - Burning - Hermione admits that she needs him; a burning sensation that starts in her stomach and trickles down to her toes.
#26 - Jump - When she heard the lock on the door click, she turned to look at him, and, upon seeing the way he looked at her, she all but jumped over the space separating them.
#18 - Balloon - The delicious heat he created when his slightly calloused hand covered her naked breast caused heat to balloon in places she only thought were awakened by the mysterious, and dangerous figure in muggle Romance novels.
#44 - Near - “I just want to be near you always,” Charlie whispered against her ear, as he caressed her naked thigh.
#21 - Quiet - She was so quiet when his head was between her legs, licking her; he gripped her hips harder than he should have - anything to convince himself that she was real.
#45 - Natural - Their bodies fit together naturally, as if they were two corresponding shapes, and only now had they bothered to fit.
#19 - Balcony - The first time she had told him she wanted to have sex on the balcony, Charlie thought he would come just by hearing her suggest it.
#11 - Birthday - When she asks him what he wants for her birthday, he tells her that the best gift he could ever get from her was knowing that she was with him, and that she loved him as much as he loved her.
#29 - Jewel - Despite all the jewels she had in her jewelry box, the most important piece is the one Charlie gave her - a plain silver band with their initials carved into the inside of the circle.
#23 - Question - Hermione wanted to cry - partly because she was hurting Ron every moment she spent with his older brother, and the other because what he just said was everything she ever wanted to hear from his lips - instead she looked at the questioning look in Charlie’s eyes after he confesses he loves her, and wordlessly launches herself into his arms, breathing in the scent of pine and musk.
#24 - Quarrel - He remembered the first time they had quarreled over something so trivial, he has to laugh about it now.
#34 - Serenade - Every time he whispers her name before entering her, it feels like Charlie was composing a song, and serenading her with a different one each and every time.
#30 - Just - “Just tell me he makes you happy,” Ginny said, when Hermione confided in her that she was in love with someone other than Ron; conveniently leaving out Charlie’s name - she trusted Ginny with her confidences, but this time, it was different.
#47 - Valiant - He had nerves of steel in his line of work, but when it came to figuring out how to tell Ron he was in love with Hermione, he found all his courage left him.
#37 - Soliloquy - “Why is every conversation we have regarding what to tell Ron turns out to be some sort of soliloquy to you?” Charlie asks, noting the way she appears lost in thought.
#25 - Quitting - “Do not presume to know everything about my heart, Charlie Weasley,” she snapped at him when he told her he thought the reason she didn’t want to leave Ron was because she was still partly in love with him; Charlie knew perfectly well that what he said was hurting her, because he knew just how hard quitting someone was.
#33 - Stupidity - “You must really have thought I was stupid,” Ron said when he found the letter she had addressed to Charlie, informing him she was telling Ron; what Ron said next was enough to make her cry, “I guess some things never change.”
#43 - Nuance - She crossed the floor, and ran a hand along his cheek, looking for some nuance of the Ron she had loved back when she was seventeen; all she saw was emptiness.
#36 - Sordid - “Oh, please, do relate every sordid detail of your affair,” Ron said, shaking the letter in Hermione’s face, “I’m dying to hear about how much you enjoy fucking my brother!”
#16 - Breaking - “Everything is breaking,” she said to him, after Ron had yelled at her for betraying him.
#42 - Neutral - Despite Harry’s neutral expression, Hermione knew that if it came down to choosing sides, he would side with Ron
#40 - Solitary - She felt like she was in solitary confinement when she sat with Charlie, while they explained to Ron just how much they were in love.
#35 - Sarcasm - “I totally support the idea of you going off with my brother; honestly, who am I to stand in the way of love,” Ron said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
#17 - Belief - The look of disbelief on Charlie’s face when Ron had called Hermione a whore, was enough to make her want to sink into the floor and disappear.
#32 - Sorrow - She knew that being sad about hurting Ron would pass, but sometimes when Charlie held her, all she wanted to do was wallow in sorrow.
#38 - Sojourn - After her brief sojourn in Ireland - while she waited for the situation with Charlie and Ron to settle - she reflected on just how much pain she had caused him, and how much she wished he had not found out about them the way he had.
#39 - Share - “I shared everything with you,” Ron said to Charlie, “you know better than anyone what it was like for me to be in love with her for so long, and finally getting that chance, only to have it taken away.”
#49 - Victory - He knew that Ron letting Hermione go was a victory for them, but, as he looked at Hermione, he knew it was a bittersweet one.
#46 - Horizon - She remembered looking out at the horizon after their marriage, and thinking that she had the rest of her life ahead of her.
