Mrs. White/Wadsworth (Clue the film); Set Alpha

Apr 01, 2008 17:39

Fandom: Clue (film)
Pairing: Mrs. White/Wadsworth
Theme set: Alpha
Rating: R (just to be safe)
Warning[s]: Mentions of sex, canon character death, and some angst.
Dsisclaimer: I only own Veeken. Plum, Scarlet, and White belong to the makers of Clue (the board game), Wadsworth belongs to John Landis and Johnathan Lynn, while the actor otherwise known as Tim Curry belongs solely to himself.
NOTE: The characters' names are as following: James (Professor Plum), Andrea (Miss Scarlet), Lillian (Mrs. White).

#01 - Comfort: After all the witnesses were interviewed and the bodies and evidence were noted and taken away, he found her sitting quietly as the shock of the night faded, and simply held her.

#02 - Kiss: Their lips brushed accidentally, and both pulled away in surprise; But she was shocked when he pulled her back to him for another kiss.

#03 - Soft: He ran a hand through her hair as she slept, smiling faintly at the texture.

#04 - Pain: She winced sympathetically at the sight of the bruise that spread across his left shoulder, but otherwise said nothing.

#05 - Potatoes: "You have no idea how to cook one of these, do you?" she asked, holding the brown tuber out to him; "Do you?" he retorted.

#06 - Rain: Butler and widow stood outside the mansion, each waiting for the other to say something until, finally, Wadsworth opened his umbrella and walked off to his car.

#07 - Chocolate: Lillian could only blink in surprise as Wadsworth casually licked the frosting off her finger, willing herself to ignore the growing desire she felt.

#08 - Happiness: "I love you guys!" Veeken manages to stammer before running off downstairs giggling, and the pair can only smile in wonder.

#09 - Telephone:  She paused when she recognized the man's voice - "Wadsworth?"

#10 - Ears: "They're clip-on", she awkwardly explained as Lillian laughed at the confused expression on Wadsworth's face.

#11 - Name: "Is it really Lillian?" Wadsworth asked, recalling the color the lining of her coat had been that fateful night.

#12 - Sensual: It's amazing how intimate simply curling up next to someone can be, Wadsworth thought as he pulled the blanket up around the two of them.

#13 - Death: As the lights went up, Lillian's gaze flicked from the still alive Wadsworth to the body of Mr. Boddy, momentarily forgetting the noose still in her hands.

#14 - Sex: It was awkward at first, but eventually the two lay curled up together, sated, relaxed, and, for the first time since they met, at peace for the first time since they met.

#15 - Touch: She started at the feeling of somebody's hand on her shoulder, and turned to find Wadsworth standing there with an awkward smile on his face.

#16 - Weakness: Wadsworth visibly winced as the man before him swiftly tore down all of his carefully built stratagems - You'll never be friends. You'll be in love 'till it kills you both...

#17 - Tears: "Well, we all make mistakes", Wadsworth managed to say before breaking into silent tears; Suddenly, she found herself at his side, but not quite sure why.

#18 - Speed: As the car stalled and died for the fifteenth time in who-knew-how-many minutes, Wadsworth sighed; "Maybe I should go over this again?"

#19 - Wind: A sudden breeze snatched her hat, and she was surprised to see Wadsworth snatch it out of the air as it passed.

#20 - Freedom: They kiss briefly, not caring who should see, and Tim smiles to himself.

#21 - Life: The next morning, things continued as usual, albeit with four new people at breakfast, the usually English-mannered man and the occasionally detached woman casting strangely loving glances at each other when they thought no one was looking.

#22 - Jealousy: Wadsworth's gaze unconsciously skimmed over Ms. Scarlet's body as she examined the negatives of Col. Mustard and Yvette in flagrante delicto, and Mrs White sighed; Men, so different at times, and so ridiculously alike at others...

#23 - Hands: A sudden crash of thunder startled the butler as he turned away from the secret panel Mrs. White had discovered behind the mirror in his room, and he instinctively grabbed for her, pulling her too close for comfort.

#24 - Taste: It just didn't make sense - she did kill her past five husbands after all - but why did he still feel this way for her?

#25 - Devotion: "I'm not asking for forever, but I'm not sure I can safely ask for a single night, either."

#26 - Forever: "Well, it's about time, you... you..." Her rant died on her lips as she recognized the man standing next to the "Evangelist"; "Ah, hello, Wadsworth."

#27 - Blood: "A-are you all right?" she asked, indicating the ice pack he now held on his head.

#28 - Sickness: “And just how did you catch said cold?” James asked Wadsworth, knowing fully well who he’d gotten it from.

#29 - Melody: There's nothing more that I'd like to do/Than take the floor and dance with you; "This is music?"

#30 - Star: The day after he woke up to find her in his arms, he tried to distract himself from the memory with an astrology book, only to find he was reading the same page over and over.

#31 - Home: As her car pulled into the driveway, she paused as she remembered the people she'd met over the course of the night: Col. Mustard (What an idiot), Professor Plum (...No comment), and Wadsworth (Well...)

#32 - Confusion: Once they were out of sight, she impatiently tugged his face down to hers and kissed him deeply; But just as Wadsworth started to seriously consider dragging her over to the bed and ravishing her shamelessly, she pulled away ("Never, ever try kissing a dead body") and calmly strolled off to the room she was investigating.

#33 - Fear: She dreams of occasions when the tale of the frog and the scorpion proves to be true, and she wakes with start, double-checking the man lying next to her to make sure she didn't somehow kill him in her sleep; Wadsworth knows, but pretends not to realize (Why else would she be checking to see if he had a heartbeat?), and tries to think of something that would keep her from hating herself.

#34 - Lightning/Thunder (Companion to #33): On stormy nights, he has nightmares of one of his would-be murderers giving into the temptation of killing him, complete with the imagined sensation of being stabbed/shot/etc, and he pulls Lillian closer to him as a reminder that he's still alive and neither his friends nor his lover turned on him.

#35 - Bonds: It's amazing what kind of connections can be formed over the course over one night, James thought as he quickly walked away from the former butler's bedroom (recognizing the sounds coming from behind the door all too well), even if they're a little odd...

#36 - Market: They watch as the pair quibble briefly over prices, and James asks "Is it that obvious?"

#37 - Technology: One long-winded Doc explanation later, the same thought ran through both their minds: "Huh?"

#38 - Gift: For all too many inexplicable reasons, he held onto the simple handkerchief, keeping it hidden until three years later...

#39 - Smile: It was brief, and for a moment it definitely shocked him, but her expression grew gentle because of it.

#40 - Innocence: "Er, y-yes, fighting! Lots of horrible, horrible fighting! Sorry that Lilly and I weren't here sooner, but... What?! It's true! And would you stop laughing, James?!"

#41 - Completion: Andrea and James trade jibes, Veeken animatedly talks with Marty, and though they know something will happen eventually (it almost seems like a rule), for a moment, everything is perfect.

#42 - Clouds: "Wonderful, more rain", he commented flatly as he glanced up at the skies, not noticing that Mrs. White was moving up behind him.

#43 - Sky: "Are we that loud?" James groaned, glancing at the ceiling as the noises from above reached a climax (in more ways than one); Good Lord, who knew Wadsworth was so damned insatiable?

#44 - Heaven: ...And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak, Fred Astaire croons as they watch the others dancing, occasionally talking to each other as they unconsciously move towards each other.

#45 - Hell: The dummy's head (an amazingly lifelike replica of Yvette) lies untouched in the box, a harsh reminder to both of the night everything went crazy.

#46 - Sun: "What? You didn't think I could wear anything other than black?", she asked incredulously, the item of clothing in question positively iridescent in comparison to the mourning clothes he'd last seen her in.#47 - Moon: She was indeed quite pale, though not so bad that she rivaled the pseudo-light that illuminated the mansion grounds before the storm began.

#48 - Waves: The veteran actor watches them stroll along a secluded part of the shore, and silently grieves for a life he forced himself to abandon.

#49 - Hair: "Aw, but you'd look cute like that", Lillian cooed as she held up the picture of Tim in the seventies, Wadsworth's expression of horror almost comical as the man in question gave a thumbs-up behind his back.

#50 - Supernova: He cums barely moments after she does, and they lie together, basking in the afterglow and leaving her wondering why the earth hasn't moved for anyone else but them.
