Terra/Sabin claim completed

Whoo first claim completed. Funny, I got about 45 of these done in a couple of days and took a couple months on the others. Oh well.

Fandom: Final Fantasy VI
Pairing: Terra Branford x Sabin Rene Figaro
Theme set: Alpha
Rating: PG-13
Warning[s]: None aside from sexual references. Spoilers since it jumps everywhere from the first time they met to the end of their lives and everything in between.

#1 Comfort:
Maybe he would never know, but on the second day they had known each other, his hand on hers and his words about trusting his brother were the most comforting of all the words and actions on that day in the Returner’s Hideout.

#2 Kiss:
He bumped into her, she blushed profusely as their gazes continued longer then it needed to and before she knew it their lips were touching in a chaste first kiss.

#3 Soft:
Terra always claimed that the best part of cuddling with him was how soft his worn in clothes were - he always just smiled and let her drift into a light nap.

#4 Pain:
That day when the world was destroyed, Sabin remained bedridden for 6 months; in that time he thought of her more then he would have ever guessed he might.

#5 Potatoes:
“I told you that was a bad idea,” Terra teased as she patched up Sabin’s left hand after he insisted that he could cut the potatoes for the stew with the claw on his right hand; he just laughed in response and insisted his brother could vouch he had done it before while Edgar did nothing but shake his head in dismay.

#6 Rain:
“…We should have listened when Strago told us it was going to pour, huh?” Sabin asked as he and Terra huddled together under a tree to shelter themselves from the torrential rain; she just shivered against him.

#7 Chocolate:
“I’m telling you Sabin, get her chocolate - she’ll love that little bit of luxury in the midst of all this chaos,” Celes coached the clueless monk as they walked around a small gift shoppe in Jidoor.

#8 Happiness:
The joy she felt while taking care of the children was nothing like she had ever felt before - which is why she knew Sabin was right about picking up her sword and fighting for their future.

#9 Telephone:
Celes sighed as she sat next to Edgar and asked, “How much longer do we have to continue this silly back and forth?” - to which Edgar laughed and replied, “until she forgives him enough to talk to him of course!”

#10 Ears:
He noticed that she was always brooding and only muttered cryptic lines as if that were an explanation for her anxiety and so for some reason he felt compelled to be a sounding board for her problems and struggles.

#11 Name:
Sabin may not have been by her side the first day the slave crown was removed and she began to remember her name, but he was there the day she stood up to the psychotic general that had once taken it from her.

#12 Sensual:
Duncan had once taught Sabin how to focus and avoid temptation, but the way Terra’s dress hugged her body (especially as it slowly slipped off of her…) was too much - besides, Duncan knew first hand that a woman would surely get to Sabin since Duncan did father Vargas after all.

#13 Death:
Kefka’s death meant hope and potential for beginnings; they both quietly hoped and feared that somewhere in reconstructing the world they could continue being near each other.

#14 Sex:
At first it was difficult for Sabin to convince Terra that the children would be all right without her sleeping near them - a few sleepless nights later Terra was officially persuaded.

#15 Touch:
No matter the tension in the room, the wounds inflicted upon him by a beast while pummeling it into the ground, or the exhaustion of being the pack mule, her hand on his arm took away all of it, even before the cure spell she would inevitably cast in an attempt to alleviate his weariness.

#16 Weakness:
“Hah! I don’t have a weakness,” Sabin informed Locke, who observed as Sabin’s eyes watched Terra move across the room towards Relm’s latest artwork then answered “Oh really Sabin?”

#17 Tears:
He followed her as she led them out of the collapsing tower, both fearful for each others’ lives but neither ready to shed a tear for the possibility of the end of their life as it was the furthest thing from their minds.

#18 Speed:
He watched in utter horror as the pink blur flew across the sky, hoping she’d find her way back to them and not fall back into the hands of the Empire.

#19 Wind:
“So you’re not going to do anything about that?” Setzer asked Sabin quietly as they stood on the deck of the Falcon watching as Edgar shamelessly flirted with Terra; “Nah,” Sabin answered, chuckling as Terra simply walked away from him, finding the birds that flew by them next to her more interesting then whatever Edgar had been talking about.

#20 Freedom:
Perhaps the most influential part of their lives was any idea of freedom; they each wanted it and found that even in freedom, responsibility followed them and they would follow through.

#21 Life:
For perhaps the first time ever in his life, Sabin paced nervously while Duane assured him that everything would be just fine; a few moments later Katarin walked in with a smile and before she could even finish proclaiming “It’s a girl!” he had already run past her to stand near and adore his girls.

#22 Jealousy:
“How do Terra and Sabin manage to keep things so simple?” Celes asked, worn out from the fight that her and Locke had just had; “I don’t know,” he answered truthfully, wishing he knew what their secret was.

#23 Hands:
Terra hadn’t realized just how much of a ‘bear’ Sabin was until she watched his mammoth hands breaking twigs to throw into the fire - so she reached out to touch his hand to compare their hand sizes while a rather confused Sabin watched.

#24 Taste:
He had no idea how she found out (probably from his brother if he had to guess), but he loved walking into their small home in Mobliz every night to find a cup of his favorite tea waiting for him on the table.

#25 Devotion:
What seemed like once upon a time on an Imperial ship to Thamasa, she wondered aloud if she could ever find love or something to care about - 10 years later she can’t even imagine that as she would now do anything for Sabin and the children at the orphanage she continued to run.

#26 Forever:
In response to her question about how long he planned on staying with her running the orphanage in Mobliz he answered “Oh, just until all the children have grown up and left.”

#27 Blood:
She wondered if she was allowed to love after all the hundreds of men she had killed while Sabin hadn’t even really thought twice about it.

#28 Sickness:
“I told you you’d catch a cold if you stayed out there all night,” she playfully chastised him as she took care of the bedridden monk.

#29 Melody:
Sabin couldn’t carry a tune for the life of him and without fail would interrupt whatever Terra was doing to get her to sing to the children if they begged him to sing for them.

#30 Star:
After she passed, everyday he would bring his cup of tea and sit by her gravestone to drink it and think back on their times together when she was all he ever focused on for the long time after Kefka’s death.

#31 Home:
She never remembered having one to grow up in, but Terra was pretty sure that their small, but cozy house where they ate, dreamt, loved - and in Sabin’s case passed out and snored in the chair - had to be the definition of a “home.”

#32 Confusion:
Terra could only laugh upon seeing Sabin’s face as, just moments after she announced Sabin would be staying with them for a little while, the children began calling him Papa.

#33 Fear:
He fascinated her; for a long time she didn’t understand how there was no fear in his eyes and Edgar would always tell her that he was just a little too stupid and a little too stubborn to.

#34 Lightning/Thunder:
After dragging herself out of bed in the middle of a terrifying night storm and trudging down the muddy path to the young children’s area, she could only smile as upon entering she was greeted with the view of Sabin fighting off sleep while sitting on the floor with a couple children clinging to him.

#35 Bonds:
Fate may have brought Sabin and Terra together, but love bonded them for the rest of their lives.

#36 Market:
Terra always loved it when Sabin would take her to the markets in Nikeah and the two would meander their ways through the busy streets; it was a tradition they would follow all the way into their late years.

#37 Technology:
“Uh brother, I don’t think Terra will be too happy if I bring home a mass of state-of-the-art power tools to the children…” Sabin informed the king during one of his visits to Figaro.

#38 Gift:
“…Are you sure we can’t re-gift her?” Sabin asked, making it a point not to make eye contact with Terra, while attempting to rock their newborn asleep in his arms.

#39 Smile:
Nothing made her smile more then when Sabin woke up before her and made breakfast for them, allowing her a few very precious extra minutes of sleep.

#40 Innocence:
Their world was filled with the innocence and hopes of young children who had once been lost and abandoned, so one couldn’t really blame them for their love of alone time.

#41 Completion:
Upon returning from a mission, though Terra and Sabin would split and do their own things, inevitably they would end up together on the deck of the Falcon.

#42 Clouds:
“Papa, that one looks like a chocobo,” his daughter informed him when he stumbled on her and Terra lying out in a field watching the sky.

#43 Sky:
On the day of their wedding the sky opened up on them; Terra and Sabin had never laughed so hard and had so much fun in their lives.

#44 Heaven:
There was no better piece of heaven in Sabin’s opinion then waking up next to her after a long night and realizing that they had a little bit of time before they needed to wake up.

#45 Hell:
Celes couldn’t help but roll her eyes a bit when Sabin told Terra: “Hell wouldn’t want me anyway,” after she told them she thought they had died.

#46 Sun:
As their days grew closer to an end, it relieved them that future generations would be able to see the sun the way they had, since time settled the dust and debris that had filled the atmosphere on that day.

#47 Moon:
Terra and Sabin agreed that Edgar’s yearly Moonlight Ball was far too formal in comparison to their somewhat simple lives, but Sabin loved seeing her beauty shine when she was all dressed up for it.

#48 Waves:
On days when things got rough, Sabin knew he could find Terra by the ocean watching the waves crash together to remind her that even in nature things did not always run smoothly.

#49 Hair:
Neither could remember how it started, but it had become a normal occurrence for Sabin to muss up Terra’s hair just to watch her fix - the same he once did to Edgar such a long time ago.

#50 Supernova:
“Sabin… you cannot eat an exploding star,” Celes argued with the monk as Terra just laughed knowing the initial comment was made simply to get a rise from the ex-general.

A/N: So some of these I struggled with, and it may be a little obvious. I think #30 and #34 are my favorites, and I wish I could draw because they'd both be adorable fanarts. #45 and #50 are jokes between my boyfriend and I but I included them because I was stuck and felt that they could fit Sabin's personality very well. Overall I'm very pleased with the way this all came out! :-)
