Fandom: Avatar: the Last Airbender
Pairing: Jet x Katara
Theme set: Alpha
Rating: PG-13

#01 - Comfort
Katara pulled the rebel into a hug, stroking his hair, awkwardly whispering about how everything would be fine and as Jet's mournful sobs grew louder, Katara wished that she was being comforted, not being the comforter.

#02 - Kiss
Katara looked up at Jet dumbly, who had just asked her if she'd like him to change the fact that she'd never been kissed, and stuttered out a yes.

#03 - Soft
"You have got to be the most soft hearted guy I've ever met," Katara informed Jet as he gave into the Duke's puppy eyes for the tenth time that night.

#04 - Pain
With a cry, Katara bended a stream of water towards the unlucky rebel fighter, thoughts of his betrayal bringing up all the feelings of pain that she couldn't ignore.

#05 - Potatoes
"The reason I love potatoes," Jet explained to Katara, "is the number of ways you can cook them; you can boil 'em, mash 'em or stick 'em in a stew."

#06 - Rain
"I don't like rain that much anymore," Jet told Katara as they huddled together in a cave that kept them dry from the torrents of rain, "not since you froze me to that goddamn tree."

#07 - Chocolate
Katara stuck her chin out stubbornly, saying "No way am I going to stop," but immediately regretting her words as Jet shrugged and ate the chocolate himself.

#08 - Happiness
Jet always thought that happiness wasn't real, that it was too abstract, and indescribable, and he had no idea what it was; but as he held the sleeping Water Tribe girl in his arm, Jet had a fairly good grasp on what happiness was.

#09 - Telephone
Katara had heard of the game where someone would say something who would tell it to another who would tell it to another; she used to play the game with the children with her village, and it was a surprise when the message was passed to her that "Jet would like you to be his wife".

#10 - Ears
Jet glared at the girl in front of him, clamped his hands over the Duke's ears, and requested that she did not swear, for his children had ears after all.

#11 - Name
Jet turned towards Katara, and said softly, "if you are to remain with us, you'll have to let go of your old identify, and make a new name."

#12 - Sensual
Jet rubbed his cheek, and made a mental note to never tell Katara that she looked damn sexy when she was wet.

#13 - Death
"Now that I think about it, there is another lady I love to tempt and tease; Lady Death, but I have no inclination to form a serious relationship with her, so there will be no other I will be with when I'm with your sister."

#14 - Sex
The sheets were sticking uncomfortably to her, her hair was everywhere, the area between her legs was still sore, her lips were bruised, she was exhausted, but she was too busy tracing her lover's face to care.

#15 - Touch
Whether it was her hand on his feverish forehead, her lips against his throat, or her arms around his neck, she was always cool to the touch.

#16 - Weakness
Jet let out a strangled shriek as the waterbender girl's nimble fingers tickled his stomach, and he silently cursed Pipsqueak for (indirectly) showing Katara his one weakness.

#17 - Tears
Jet had heard Katara cry many times, but the tears shed for their stillborn son would ones that he would never forget, for he shed them too.

#18 - Speed
Katara ran as fast as she could, but she could not get there fast enough to warn Jet of the firbender behind him, and he could not move fast enough to avoid getting hit.

#19 - Wind
When Katara had appeared at his hideout a few weeks after the end of the war and had all but leapt into his arms, Jet didn't question what had happened, nor had he questioned her strange fear of wind.

#20 - Freedom
"Yes, Katara, it was worth it," Jet said, voice hollow, looking onto the burnt village, "The Fire Nation is gone from this valley and it's villagers are free."

#21 - Life
Having spent a few years with Zuko, Katara had learned quite a few proverbs about life, but the idealism of Jet's always stayed with her- you only live life once, might as well live it to its fullest.

#22 - Jealousy
As he embraced Katara, pulling her into his arms and holding her tightly, he looked up at her companion, Jet or something like that, and Haru could've sworn that his eyes flickered into a shade of green.

#23 - Hands
Ignoring, or at least trying to ignore, the squeals and giggles of the Fighters behind them, Jet led Katara through the hideout, never once letting go of his hold on her hand.

#24 - Taste
Katara bended some water towards Jet, to help him wash down the copper taste of blood, the taste of death that was in the air, to wash down the taste of victory.

#25 - Devotion
After living with the Freedom Fighters for a few days, Katara had become closer to them, and when she asked why they were so devoted to Jet, they just looked at her oddly and said "because he's Jet."

#26 - Forever
Jet always said nothing was forever, and yet as he lay beneath the bright blue sky on that grassy field, with Katara sleeping in his arms, Jet wanted to fall asleep, and stay forever in this moment.

#27 - Blood
Jet could never forget the look of horror on Katara's face as he stumbled into the hut, blood splattered everywhere.

#28 - Sickness
"I hope you're happy," Jet sniffed, and Katara rolled her eyes; she hadn't meant to get him sick when she coughed on hiim, she wanted him to shut up.

#29 - Melody
In her blind innocence, Katara thought that the twinkling melody of soft bird calls was a lullaby, not an order to attack the Fire Nation troops in the village.

#30 - Star
Katara couldn't rid herself of her attraction to Jet, to the rebel who had lied and used her, and when they met up again, and they finally kissed, Katara saw stars.

#31 - Home
Jet stared at his wife, and deciding there was nothing to loose in a short trip to the South Pole, asked, "Katara, how would you like to go home?"

#32 - Confusion
Jet was the perfect example of confusion; he could go from goofy and innocent to dark and threatening, from sighing contently to screaming in rage, from silently crying to himself to laughing among his Freedom Fighters, but Katara saw his confusion as part of his appeal.

#33 - Fear
After saying goodbye to Katara, Jet didn't know which he feared more; her dying as she, Sokka, Aang and Prince Zuko went to defeat Ozai, or her falling in love with the Fire Nation Prince.

#34 - Lightning/Thunder
She found it amusing in a way how she found the rebel that could tell all his Fighters that thunder and lightning are nothing to be feared sitting in his own room, shivering in fear.

#35 - Bonds
The Freedom Fighters looked away in childish disgust as Jet and Katara sealed their marriage with a kiss.

#36 - Market
It was with flushed cheeks and a giddy giggle that Katara told Suki, her sister-in-law, that she was off the market.

#37 - Technology
There were very few people in the world that shared her begrudging respect and awe for the Fire Nation's advanced technology, and Jet was one of them.

#38 - Gift
It was scary how alike Jet and Sokka were sometimes; when Katara proudly announced her daughter was gifted with the ability to waterbend, both young men just snorted, saying all that gift would accomplish was to get them wet with the fancy splashes.

#39 - Smile
Katara watched as Jet struggled to practice what he preached, to smile despite the tears.

#40 - Innocence
It was not her good looks nor was it her bending skills that attracted him to her, but her coquettish, demure, innocent personality.

#41 - Completion
"I like her," the Duke had informed Jet a few days after the Avatar and his companions had left, "you can be a father, a friend, or a brother, but you can't be a mother; she seemed like she would make a nice mom."

#42 - Clouds
After Katara's explanation of how that group of clouds looked like a koi fish about to tell it's hogmonkey lover that she was pregnant, Jet couldn't help but protest loudly about being called a hogmonkey.

#43 - Sky
"She is going to come back," one of the Freedom Fighters informed Jet as he stared off into the sky, waiting to see a gigantic flying bison to come in view.

#44 - Heaven
Katara went to work to save the dying rebel, and in his deliruim, Jet couldn't help but ask, "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"

#45 - Hell
Jet didn't care if he was damned to hell, or that Fire Lord Zuko might be the one to send him there, he just cared about the (future) Lady of the Fire Nation, Katara, and he wanted to make the best of the night they had together.

#46 - Sun
"The reason I like you more than Zuko," Katara said quietly, "is because he is the sun and I am the moon, and I don't want to spend the rest of my life chasing after him when there's no way I will capture him."

#47 - Moon
"Be good to her Jet," Sokka said slowly, staring at the moon, "be good to her, for you never know when she's gonna be gone."

#48 - Waves
The one thing that she liked most about Jet was the fact that they could lie on an ocean bank for hours, not speak a word as the waves soaked their clothing, and yet have a perfect understanding with each other.

#49 - Hair
Katara gave out a small sigh, loving how Jet would play with her hair, either twirling it around, trying to braid it, or just running his fingers through it, whenever he thought she was asleep.

#50 - Supernova
"I love you," Jet whispered to Katara, holding her close as Souzen's comet exploded in the sky and all hope for the world was lost.
