Farewells

When everything is over - Wesker, Urobouros, and Africa -They say their farewells, but Sheva knows this is not goodbye: she’ll see her partner again.

View

The first view she has of him is six months later when comes to pick her up from the airport.

Talk

They talk about everything -likes, dislikes, friends, family- everything but their feelings.

Talent

Jill remarks to Claire that they have this amazing talent to completely ignore what was in front of them; laughing Claire agrees that her brother was always oblivious to the big things in his life.

Laugh

She laughs heartily, a great big belly laugh that makes Chris realise he should have achieved this sooner.

Overwhelmed

He’s overwhelmed by his feelings, knows he can’t give in to them, but then he sees her and he can’t remember why.

Lock

Jill tells him he has lock over his heart, lost too many people to let anyone else in, ‘well,’ she smiles, ‘everyone except one'.’

Drink

She can’t hold her drink very well, it makes her kind of chatty, ‘I think I love you, Chris’ is slurred to him: he wishes it was true and not some drunken sentiment.

Temptation

She’s had a bad date- another guy who doesn’t understand what they do - and she comes to him for comfort; the temptation to beat the crap out of him for hurting her has never been so strong.

Midnight

They have their first kiss at midnight on New Years day, ignoring the little tingles they get.

World

It would take them to the end of the world….no the end of time to work out and admit their feelings to one another and Jill just can’t wait that long- she has twenty bucks on six months in the BSSA betting pool.

Cover

The mission require a meeting in a side street café and while she can’t see him, she knows she’s covered.

Fall

She’s moving before he’s hit the ground, ducking and diving to get to him; he will not be another fallen brother.

Red

Red stains the pavement as a silent mantra runs through her head, don’t die, I love you, putting pressure on the wound she hopes she gets to tell him.

Fever

He catches an infection and his temperature spikes- not sure if he will make it, Sheva prays to any God or deity that will listen that he needs to survive because she has to tell him, he has to know she loves him.

Mask

Staring at him, all hooked up to wires Sheva lets her mask slip and shows the world how she feels.

Ice

His fever breaks and Sheva feels the ice around her heart melt.

Breathe

She says I love you and forgets to breathe; pools of intense hazel pierce her soul.

Hurricane

It hits him like a hurricane and he can’t stop himself: he tries to pour all his emotions into their kiss.

Fire

Their bodies feel like they are on fire as they move together, quickly and without abandon.

Unknown

This is unknown territory for Chris; sure he’s woken up next to his fair share of women, but never next to someone who means so much.

Lies

He tells her it was a mistake, that it shouldn’t of happened, she deserves better than a 35 year old washed up agent; but he’s lying to both of them.

Gravity

When the gravity of what he’s done hits him, he almost doubles over- as if the wind has been knocked out of him: he needs to fix this, they were never a mistake.

Run

She left, walked away with tears in her eyes and a parting shot, stop being so self-sacrificing and grow up, he tells himself to run and maybe he’ll catch her.

Highway

She drives along the never-ending highway with tears in her eyes; whatever he may think, it was not a mistake.

Hope

When he finds her, she’s checked into a motel and he pleads with her to open the door: when she does, hope blooms in his chest that it might not be to late.

Silence

He’s tried to explain and rationalise why it’s not such a good idea and Sheva has agreed and disagreed with him; now there is nothing left to say and in the silence Sheva kisses him and he answers.

Promise

When they tell Jill they are together, there is a deadly silence; standing up she stares Chris straight in the eye and makes him promise to name their firstborn after her.

Eclipse

Their first date is watching a total eclipse on the roof of his apartment with a bottle of wine and some marshmallows.

Candle

She can see his scars in the candle light, a constant reminder of what he’s faced; he shifts to hide them with an embarrassed sound, but she stops him with a gentle touch,’ we’re human Chris, we all have scars.’

Body

His body is a road map of definition; lines, muscles and scars she traces with her tongue.

Silk

Her skin is as soft as silk, even with her scars and his calloused hands, his touch lingers there long after.
Formal

Standing in his best tuxedo, he sees her, a vision in green, but they are no longer Chris and Sheva, they are Agent Redfield and Agent Alomar.
Forgotten

In the world of politics and formal eveningwear they play their parts and they have forgotten who they are; in the room of hats and coats, they remember perfectly.
Whisper

He whispers I love you, so Sheva places whispers of kisses over his body.
Music

They discuss music tastes in bed on a lazy Sunday morning- he likes classic rock and she likes everything else- so they agree to disagree and decide to make their own music.
Sacred

He worships her body, kisses, and caresses anything to make her scream his name.
Hero

Everyone sees a hero, the man who helped take down Albert Wesker; but she doesn’t, she sees silly faces that make her laugh and Star Trek marathons with long, serious explanations, that make her smile.
Wings

He’s thirty-five for Christ’s sake much to old to be dating a twenty four year old; but then she looks at him and laughs with a whispered ‘You worry too much’ and he feels like he has wings.
Box

He discovers a box, far back inside their closet, full of little keepsakes from their relationship - the plane ticket from their first vacation, movie stubs, museum flyers- little things he would never of expected she want to keep; placing it back, he tries to think up new things that can go inside.
Memory

His favourite memory is their introduction, from her ‘Welcome to Africa’ he knew he’d be in for one hell of a ride.
Forever

They can’t promise each other forever, not in the job they do, but they promise each other today and that’s enough for now.

Ring

When they show Claire the engagement ring she squeals with a triumphant ‘I knew it!’ hugging Sheva with a ‘Welcome to the family, sis.’
Dance

Their first dance is awkward and clumsy, because while Chris can dodge a hail of bullets, he can’t move his feet to the same rhythm as everyone else; so Chris and Sheva create their own.
Dream

Sometimes she thinks it’s a dream, poking Chris in his sleep to make sure he’s real.
Cold

She doesn’t remember New York being so cold; shivering in her jacket, Chris wraps his arms around her and she no longer feels Jack Frost’s bite.
Strength

When she discovers she is going to be a mother, she doubts herself for about a second, then she looks deep down and finds the strength to tell Chris; after all he will be a fussing, unbearable maniac for the next nine months.
Wait

Seven hours, seven long hours, but now sitting there hold his baby daughter, he decides it was worth it.
Search

They never thought that without really searching for it, they have found what they need.
Journey

The journey they have taken has not been without false starts and bumpy roads; but to watch their children play together, they know they wouldn’t change any of it here.
