rating: Um.. I dunno.. it's pretty tame. Might be a language issue [I have a tendency toward teh cussing...] but I don't think so... PG-13?

#01 - Comfort
Every angle, every board, every splinter, every waterlogged inch of the ship was comfortingly familiar, and he couldn't imagine changing any of it.
#02 - Kiss
Sun-kissed decks and wave-kissed keel-- neither could hold a candle to the small scrap of dock where Kaya had kissed him goodbye...
#03 - Soft
There was a spot-- small, insignificant, and utterly worrying-- in the crows nest; it was getting soft in the bottom, rotting slightly... and he didn't know what to do.
#04 - Pain
He fell to the deck, wracked with pain, certain he was dying, that the whole crew would have to fight this battle without him in order to properly mourn his loss after their victory... after all, that arrow had come very close to actually hitting him~ !!
#05 - Potatoes
"Vodka," Zoro said to Usopp, "It should be no trouble for a 'World-class Distiller' like yourself to turn a hold full of potatoes into vodka."
#06 - Rain
There was rain leaking into the main sleeping cabin... but no one complained as long as it only fell on Usopp, would certainly wasn't going to say anything about it...
#07 - Chocolate
Somehow, in some odd and probably dangerous way... the hold was filled with chocolate and they were hurriedly setting sail.
#08 - Happiness
"Happiness is a swaying hammock or a warm deck," Usopp explained to Chopper, "because a True Man of The Sea always needs to be well rested~ !!"
#09 - Telephone
The ship didn't have a telephone, and only had a Den Den Mushi if they stole one, or someone from a failed boarding party left one behind... so Usopp had not gotten to speak to Kaya in a very long time.
#10 - Ears
"If this ship had ears," Usopp muttered while hanging from the side of the ship, doing repairs, "People would run screaming in terror from the stories it could tell!!"
#11 - Name
The Going Merry was just what it's name suggested; A ship for chasing dreams and wishes across the great blue expanse of life!
#12 - Sensual
"I don't care if you are the cook," Usopp screamed at Sanji, "You are not renaming the galley 'Le Cafe Sensuality'~ !!"
#13 - Death
In that moment, face to face with Luffy in battle, Usopp realized that he would rather face his own death than a life without his nakama-- and the Going Merry was one of his nakama-- so he lifted his hand to his chest and put his faith in another friend...
#14 - Sex
"I don't care if you are the navigator," Usopp screamed at Nami, "You are not hanging a sign on the galley door that says 'No Sex For Cooks Beyond This Point'~ !!"
#15 - Touch
It took a deft touch at the helm to steer the Going Merry into port... and in that respect, Usopp was not bluffing for once.
#16 - Weakness
His own weaknesses were always on his mind... that was why he worked so hard to keep the Going Merry going as well as merry; it was all he had to offer.

The way that the rain ran down the figurehead as Usopp walked away from his nakama, and away from his home, looked eeriely like tears...

The euphoric rush of speed as they flew down the horrifyingly enormous waves was almost enough to make him forget how likely it was that they would soon die... almost.
#19 - Wind
It was hard to imagine why anyone would tie their destination, their livelyhood, their life to something as capricious as the wind... but such was the lot of a True Man of The Sea~ !!
#20 - Freedom
For all his fear, all his panic, all his boasting and bluffing and nervous whining... he really did love the freedom of the open sea.
#21 - Life
All his life he had been inventing this adventure... to be living it in reality was almost too much for him to believe at times.
#22 - Jealousy
As much as he tried to ignore it and not feel it... Usopp was jealous of the sheer power of his nakama, a power that he felt he lacked by himself.
#23 - Hands
Even though it wasn't his true expertise, he always mended the ship with his own two hands, fitting each board by sight and by feel and hammering every nail with a greater care than he had once thought himself capable...
#24 - Taste
Regardless of the fact that Sanji's cooking was amazing, everything just tended to taste better when he was in the galley, surrounded by his nakama.
#25 - Devotion
"I can not..." Usopp whispered in the darkness, alone on the deck of the dying ship, "I will not leave you..."
#26 - Forever
He had been sure that they would all be together forever, but with his heart broken and his soul bruised, Usopp turned his back on his nakama for the love of a memory.
#27 - Blood
It wasn't out of the ordinary for them to return to the ship, bleeding and covered in the blood of their enemies... but while Chopper cleaned up the human contingent, Usopp saw to it that the decks weren't marred by the stains of violence.
#28 - Sickness
"This is one illness," Chopper said sadly to his firend, one hoof resting against the helm, "That even my master couldn't have healed, Usopp..."
#29 - Melody
Usopp sat up in the crows nest, working on his newest set of Attack Boshi, and just listened to the steady rythym of the waves and the melody of life that played below him as the crew went about their own daily routines.
#30 - Star
"Usopp Special Hyper Snap Dragon Boshi~ !! AWAY~ !!" Usopp cried as he fired his slingshot up into the air, unleashing a colorful, sparkling array of 'Novelty Star' fireworks that he had finally perfected.
#31 - Home
Mask broken at his feet and cape swirling around him, Usopp stared in shock at his grinning nakama, "What do you mean 'Welcome Home'?"
#32 - Confusion
Usopp covered his eyes and threw a flash-bang, grabbing wildly for Chopper as he ran from the cave, hoping the bear was confused and blind enough for them to get a good distance before his adrenaline ran out...
#33 - Fear [the true measure of courage, neh?]
Knees quaking, teeth chattering, limbs weak and nearly paralyzed with terror, Usopp faced an opponent that was certainly out of his league, raised his slingshot with shaking hands... and fired .
#34 - Lightning/Thunder
"Oh, sure--" Usopp said, crossing his arms and nodding sagely in response to Chopper's awed expresion, "-- Odin and Thor are my underlings... have been ever since I beat them both in a Tournament of the Gods when I was seven years old~ !!"
#35 - Bonds
Looking around the table, Usopp smiled... e could almost see the bonds of kinship and fate that bound them all together... and all the threads lead back to Luffy, grinning idiot that he was.
#36 - Market
"How much?" Usopp cried, waving his arms and shaking his head... not at a vendor, but at one of his own nakama, "Nami, that's highway robbery~ !!"
#37 - Technology
Usopp stared at the book in his lap [borrowed from Robin, though Nami had managed to charge him for it...] and scratched his head; It seemed that the heating element in the second water pump would have to wait until the next port to be fixed... he couldn't make heads or tails of the technical specs he had found.
#38 - Gift
Everytime they sailed out of a storm or battle intact, or into adventures unknown, Usopp sent a silent thank you to Kaya for her greatest gift: The gift of opportunity.
#39 - Smile
"Why are you smiling??" Chopper shrieked at Usopp as he hurredly bandaged him up where he lay, beaten to a pulp in front of the untouched ship, "You could have been killed!!"
#40 - Innocence
There was a innocence to their journay, a lack of tainted ambition, a purity of spirit... and it was as if the ship could sense that and was giving more than it's all at every turn...
#41 - Completion
"You did good..." Usopp whispered, wiping at his nose asthe last pieces of the ship disappeared, "But you're done now... you made it... you took us as far as you could."
#42 - Clouds
Sailing on clouds was a strange feeling, and Merry didn't much care for the people in this sky world... but if this was the adventure that Usopp-sama and his nakama wanted, Merry would do everything it could to help them.
#43 - Sky
The journey to the sky had almost killed them; The journey through the sky had almost killed them; The journey back from the sky had almost killed them; The land of the sky was a very dangerous place.
#44 - Heaven
Having been to heaven didn't lessen Usopp's fear of death one bit... but knowing it was there, and that he could go there without dying, bolstered his faith in an odd way.
#45 - Hell
Cracking his neck, eyes shadowed and slingshot at his side, Usopp raised his other hand to point at the enemy, his voice low and dangerous sounding, "I'll send you straight to hell..." he rasped... when he looked up, the street was empty and he heaved a sigh of relief; He was out of ammo.
#46 - Sun
Panting in the strong, unforgiving heat of the sun, Usopp wondered how it was that he found himself as a pack mule so far from his ship... when the others hardly seemed to notice the heat, and the weight, and the oddity of the land under their feet.
#47 - Moon
"I went there once," Usopp said, pointing up at the moon, "See that big crater there? It's called 'The Sea of Snipers'... named it that myself at the ripe old age of nine~ !!"
#48 - Waves
The few times that they slept away from the ship, Usopp found himself lying awake for hours, regardless of how tired he was... without the steady sound and rythym of the waves against the hull, he just felt wrong.
#49 - Hair
"We should get one for the figurehead..." Usopp mused aloud, looking around suddenly when everyone simply stared at him, waiting for an explaination, "An afro.. we should get one for the ship~ !! We'd be invincible!!"
#50 - Supernova
The explosion the resulted from Luffy's impact with the dial caught Usopp by surprise as well... like a supernova in his fist, it was the shock of seeing Luffy flung so far more than anything else that brought tears back to his eyes...
