Monkey Island, Guybrush/Elaine, Set Alpha

Feb 06, 2010 10:47

Fandom: Monkey Island
Pairing: Guybrush ThreepwoodxElaine Marley-Threepwood
Theme set: Alpha
Rating: G-PG
Warnings: Light swearing, death, brief reference to sex
Notes: Spoilers for the whole series, possible OOCness.

#01 - Comfort
The blonde fell against the Governor, tired from the events of the past couple of days, Guybrush smiled and remarked before he fell asleep, "You make a good pillow".

#02 - Kiss
Guybrush grabbed the rope, ready to swing onto the next ship while its crew was still distracted, he turned to Elaine and asked, "Any chance for a good luck kiss for the mighty pirate?"

#03 - Soft
When it came to her husband, Elaine usually didn't pull her punches, both metaphorically and physically.

#04 - Pain (Sort of companion to #33)
It pained her to see Guybrush obsessing over Big Whoop, to see him wasting his life, to see him become someone completely different.

#05 - Potatoes
Elaine took away the potato and knife after he cut his hand for the ninth time; "Dear, I appreciate the sentiment but maybe I should cook dinner tonight".

#06 - Rain
They were both completely soaked by the rain; Elaine glared at Guybrush when he started laughing but she soon joined in.

#07 - Chocolate
Guybrush hated getting sweets from Elaine's mother; not only did the stuff (her chocolate especially) always make him sick but Elaine would never ever let him throw them away.

#08 - Happiness
"...Or at least that's what he would say if I had a husband..." at that instant the Governor could swear she saw a look of joy on Guybrush's face.

#09 - Telephone
As the Narwhal was becoming farther and farther from Spinner Cay, Elaine walked to the edge of the dock and yelled: "Don't worry, I'm sure everything will be alright, I love you Sweetie", it only took a few seconds before she heard back: "I love you too Honey Muffin!"

#10 - Ears
Sometimes the two of them just spend their mornings lying together in bed, whispering silly pet names into each others ears.

#11 - Name
She named the dog Guybrush because like his namesake, he was helpless, dumb, and constantly getting in the way; but soon Elaine started noticing other traits similar to the original, like his playfulness and desire to please.

#12 - Sensual
There was a little voice in Guybrush's head yelling at him and telling him he shouldn't be doing what he's doing; but he still couldn't help but stare at the Governor's swaying hips as she walked back upstairs.

#13 - Death (Sort of Companion to #27)
'This is nothing but a nightmare... any second I'm going to wake up and Guybrush will be alright, he'll be lying next to me alive and well!'

#14 - Sex
At first Winslow was a bit baffled when Captain Threepwood requested that he handle the ship for a while but Threepwood's answer ("Er... I need uh... I have... important matters with my wife down... d-down in the cabin") made it all clear.

#15 - Touch
Guybrush never expected just how ticklish Elaine's feet were and Elaine never expected how Guybrush would sometimes use this little discovery to his advantage.

#16 - Weakness
Some people would say that love is a weakness, especially when the lover is another pirate; these people have obviously never met the Threepwoods.

#17 - Tears
As she watched the man she once thought dead float up to the surface; Elaine just realized that she had been crying.

#18 - Speed
"Don't worry Elaine I'm coming as fast as I ca-" she winced as Guybrush tripped over himself and crashed onto the deck with a loud thud.

#19 - Wind
The wind was becoming stronger and stronger; as they tried to get inside, the two held onto each other to protect themselves.

#20 - Freedom
Guybrush fell for the trap; hook, line, and sinker; as Elaine was untying the ropes around his ankles, she sighed and said, "Honestly dear, where would you be without me?"

#21 - Life
As Guybrush ran around the ship, making sure every little thing was okay, trying to repair any damage LeChuck may have caused; Elaine looked down to her stomach and whispered, "I think I'll wait another week before telling him about you, he's got enough on his mind."

#22 - Jealousy
LeChuck clenched his fist as he watched Threepwood embrace HIS Elaine but he took a deep breath; patience he told himself, the right time will show itself eventually.

#23 - Hands
"You're alive..." Guybrush looked up and saw the Governor with her hand held out to help and a relieved look on her face.

#24 - Taste
Every time Elaine thinks back to when they had their last kiss, the memory always brings a bitter taste to her mouth.

#25 - Devotion
While they were exploring some rocky island, Elaine had slipped and sprained her ankle, and though she refused his offer ("You've got too many other things to carry Guybrush, I'm not going to burden you"), Guybrush still carried her and all their things till they found somewhere to rest.

#26 - Forever
Despite every stupid bone-headed mistake he made, despite bad situations that he got them into, Elaine always stayed by Guybrush's side.

#27 - Blood (Sort of Companion to #13)
Though she kept telling herself that this was not real, Guybrush limply fell to the ground and at that moment, the only thing on Elaine's mind was keeping her last promise to her love and seeing LeChuck's blood on her blade.

#28 - Sickness
Morgan rolled her eyes as Guybrush continued to blather on about Elaine; 'I swear if I hear about Elaine this or "Plunder Bunny" that one more time, I'm going to throw up!'

#29 - Melody
It was about half-way through the song that Guybrush realized that the girl in the song was named Elena not Elaine.

#30 - Star
Elaine shook her head as Guybrush tried, unsuccessfully, to use the stars to navigate she then pointed to a particularly bright star and said, "It's that one Guybrush".

#31 - Home
As much as he wanted to go back to the sea; Guybrush certainly didn't mind calling the Governor's Mansion home.

#32 - Confusion
Guybrush looked everywhere in the abandoned Marley Mansion for any sign of where Elaine could have or at least a hint to why she left.

#33 - Fear (Sort of Companion to #4)
He recalls how Elaine once said that it frightened her when he was obsessed with Big Whoop, how he became someone so different; now as he watches her acting under the influence of the Pox, he starts to understand how she must have felt.

#34 - Lightning/Thunder
As another bolt of lightning flashed outside and the rough sea continued to bash the ship, Guybrush and Elaine huddled closer and hoped that this damned storm would be over soon.

#35 - Bonds
He admits that after Elaine just up and left, he did occasionally flirt with other women, but they never seemed to connect with Guybrush, the way Elaine did.

#36 - Market
"Well gee Stan, I guess we could use a..." Elaine immediately placed a hand over Guybrush's mouth before he could make a potentially stupid purchase.

#37 - Technology
Elaine looked through the pictures Guybrush took during their honeymoon, only a few were any good, the rest were either blurry or Guybrush's thumb blocked the picture; but it didn't annoy her or make her mad, it just made her laugh.

#38 - Gift
"A Smuggle Bunny for my Plunder Bunny" read the note attached to the plush toy's hook, Elaine chuckled and thanked Guybrush for the gift.

#39 - Smile
She couldn't explain it, how Guybrush could have that kind of smile that made any situation, no matter how annoying or embarrassing, not as bad as it seemed.

#40 - Innocence
Elaine couldn't help but admire how even though Guybrush has changed over the years, he still had his child-like moments.

#41 - Completion
His dream to become a Mighty Pirate was motivation enough for him to finish the Trials; but it took a couple of flirts from a certain redhead to get him to finish up quickly.

#42 - Clouds
As Guybrush looked up from his journal, he could see Elaine's sweet beautiful face in the clouds.

#43 - Sky
Before Guybrush could continue with his story, one of the pirates listening, interrupted with: "Ye know matey; ye could just simply say "she had very red hair" instead of going on a long comparison to a sunset."

#44 - Heaven
This was it, his ten minutes were up; his body started to float up and his eyes were slowly closing, but then Guybrush saw movement above the dock and a huge splash; 'Wow, those angels sure know how to make a entrance...'

#45 - Hell
The citizens stared at their Governor as she got off the boat; Ms. Marley looked like she had been through Hell and back, whatever it was she found on Dinky Island, it must have been horrible.

#46 - Sun
Guybrush moaned and put his pillow over his eyes in response to Elaine opening the curtains and letting the sunlight in.

#47 - Moon
He simply had no words for how beautiful she looked with the moonlight shining down on her face.

#48 - Waves
The two of them sat on the sand, letting the waves wash over their bare legs, and enjoying this brief moment of peace.

#49 - Hair
It started out as something she did when she couldn't sleep; but soon Elaine found herself unable to sleep if she didn't play a bit with Guybrush's hair

#50 - Supernova
They climbed up to the Crow's Nest to watch the fireworks show and just as the show was about to start, Guybrush kissed his wife and whispered, "Happy Anniversary Elaine".

08- Some poking fun at the one responses Elaine has in the ending for Secret of Monkey Island. If you said "how to deal with frustration, disappointment, irritating cynicism" Elaine would've replied with "that sounds like something my husband would say" and Guybrush would just nervously laugh.

37- Before anyone asks, yes I did check to see if there were cameras in Monkey Island world. Guybrush makes a reference to having a camera in Spinner Cay if you tell LeChuck to use the Claw Thingy on himself ("That's perfect, now just hold that pose while I go get my camera").

44- Kind of an alternate "what if" idea I had of the scene when Guybrush is at the bottom of the sea at the Melee docks. Considering the fact that Elaine came to the docks in the first-place to help Guybrush, I thought it was a neat idea.

45- Considering the fact that at the beginning of Curse, Elaine had thought Guybrush was dead, something had to have happened that made her think that. (Yes this has been some lame fan's attempt to connect two games made by different people ^^;)
