Note: Er, spoilers for those who haven't seen the entire Shichinintai arc. And, I so cheated on Nuance. That's it. Enjoy. Or whatever.
01 - Walking
Bankotsu and Jakotsu were comfortable enough in each other's presence to not need to say anything as they walked in silence; just walking together was enough.
02 - Waltz
It was like watching a deadly waltz - Jakotsu kept the distant enemies at bay with a swipe of his sword while Bankotsu expertly watched his back, keeping those who had managed to get past Jakotsu's blades.
03 - Wishes
Bankotsu wished he'd stopped talking about that disgusting dog demon as often as he did, and he wished Jakotsu's eyes didn't light up whenever anybody mentioned the dog, and he wished he knew why he cared so much, but, most of all, he wished Jakotsu would look at him the same way he did Inuyasha, even if it was just once.
04 - Wonder
"I wonder if Renkotsu's ever gotten laid," Jakotsu said bluntly, grinning at the appalled look on Bankotsu's face. "No, no, I'd never - ewww, he's ugly - but I just wonder if anybody would."
05 - Worry
It was a miracle that they had been given this second chance of life, but as each member of the Shichinintai was slain once again, Bankotsu couldn't help but worry that Jakotsu would be the next to go.
06 - Whimsy
"Mwah!" Jakotsu said as he pressed his lips against Bankotsu's cheek, then twirled out of the room, loudly singing, "Baby boy, you stay on my mind, fulfill my fantasy~"
07 - Waste/Wasteland
As the Shichinintai plowed through the seemingly endless wasteland, Bankotsu could feel Jakotsu's burning gaze on him - more specifically, on his ass.
08 - Whiskey and rum
"I luff you da bestest!" Jakotsu squealed happily, his breath reeking of rum as he pinned Bankotsu to the wall and proceeded to ravage the shorter man's mouth with all the desperation of a starving man eating his first meal in forever.
09 - War
"Oh yeah?!" Jakotsu cried, throwing his loofah sponge at the door Bankotsu's uppity ass had just disappeared through. "Now it's ON!"
10 - Weddings
Jakotsu laughed as he caught the bouquet Kikyou had thrown before she disappeared into the limo with Suikotsu, and he winked at Bankotsu. "I'll save this for when it's our turn!"
11 - Birthday
Bankotsu closed his eyes and blew out the candle, wishing for the same thing he wished for every year: Jakotsu to pay attention to him and only him.
12 - Blessing
"Soooo~" Jakotsu hummed, looking up at Bankotsu with innocent inquisitiveness even as he stuck his hand down the shorter boy's pants. "Sure you want this?"
13 - Bias
Bankotsu didn't really want to pass judgment over who was in the right - Renkotsu or Jakotsu - because he knew that if he tried he'd pick Jakotsu every time, his feelings for the effeminate man clouding his judgment.
14 - Burning
"It's beautiful." Bankotsu said proudly as the Shichinintai stared at the flaming destruction that had once been a village and as Jakotsu looked at Bankotsu and murmured his agreement, he wasn't just talking about the fire.
15 - Breathing
Jakotsu smirked as Bankotsu's breath hitched, then grew more and more labored the closer Jakotsu's hands came to the obvious bulge in the shorter man's pants.
16 - Breaking
Bankotsu stood frozen in the doorway, his mind racing with half-formed thoughts that made no sense at all and his heart shattering in his chest as he stared at the slightly shadowed form of his boyfriend making out with that bastard child, Inuyasha, and he whirled away from the horrible sight, ignoring the crash that sounded as he knocked over a vase and running faster when he heard the shocked and guilty cry of, "Bankotsu!" from behind him.
17 - Belief
It was just that trust, that faith, that absolute belief that Bankotsu would allow no harm to come to him that was shining in Jakotsu's eyes as he smiled weakly, then allowed his eyes to flutter shut, falling unconscious while Bankotsu dressed his wounds.
18 - Balloon
Jakotsu let the balloon go and it tore around the room with a fwrrrrrrrrrrrt, spraying confetti all over as it went and doing nothing to drown out the friends all shouting, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BANKOSTU!"
19 - Balcony
The balcony was one of Bankotsu's favorite places in the mansion to just go and think, something Jakotsu knew very well, and the shorter man relaxed and sighed in contentment as he felt a pair of arms wrap around him and a chin rest atop his head, closing his eyes and savoring the feeling of having the man he loved so close.
20 - Bane
"You're nothing but a hindrance and the bane of my existence," Bankotsu spat coldly, his eyes holding none of the warmth that had been there the night before when he'd confessed his love to Jakotsu. "And I'd be happy if only I could just get away from you."
21 - Quiet
Jakotsu smirked against Bankotsu's sweat-soaked skin, pressing a finger to his lover's lips and leaning forward to whisper in Bankotsu's ear, "Shhh, love, your parents are in the next room and they'll hear if you're not quiet..."
22 - Quirks
Jakotsu wasn't easily understood, especially by most, if not all, the people who met him, but for all his quirks and oddities, Bankotsu still loved him and he simply couldn't see how Jakotsu could be Jakotsu without them.
23 - Question
Jakotsu never questioned anything Bankotsu asked of him, no matter how difficult or complicated; Bankotsu was their leader, their oo-aniki, and he followed whatever Bankotsu said without fail - and yet he couldn't help but ask why when Bankotsu, leader of the Shichinintai, asked for something as simple as a kiss.
24 - Quarrel
Renkotsu and Bankotsu were on the outs and it was rumored that Jakotsu had caused it, that Renkotsu had caught Jakotsu picking up men again, that Renkotsu had called him something rather unflattering, and that Renkotsu had made the mistake of letting Bankotsu overhear.
25 - Quitting
"You're like a drug I just can't quit, even if I wanted to," Jakotsu whispered, tangling his fingers into the soft locks of Bankotsu's hair, which had been gently pulled and tugged loose from his braid at some point during their lovemaking.
26 - Jump
"If oo-aniki says jump, you jump; you may all be double-crossers, but I'll always be loyal to Bankotsu and I will kill you if you hurt him," Jakotsu said coldly before he turned on his heel and stormed away the rebellious Shichinintai members; consequently, the next day, Bankotsu found himself uncomfortably surprised by his teammates' eagerness to do something for him, with nothing but Jakotsu's vague smile as an explanation.
27 - Jester
By day, Jakotsu was something of a court jester, constantly providing amusement either with his outrageous behavior or with one of his childlike, yet entertaining, quips; by night, he was a supercharged ball of sexual energy, a king of the bedroom, his fingers knowing just where to move in order to coax the best reactions out of Bankotsu.
28 - Jousting
"Oh come on," Jakotsu coaxed (re: whined at) his lover, brown eyes meeting adamant blue ones pleadingly. "The jousting contest could be sooooo much fun!"
29 - Jewel
Bankotsu's fingers ran over Jakotsu's throat, where the jewel shard keeping him alive resided, then leaned down and kissed the place gently, feeling Jakotsu shiver and murmur his approval.
30 - Just
Jakotsu smiled in contentment, happy with the knowledge that he was just Jakotsu, and that was all he'd ever need to be to make Bankotsu happy.
31 - Smirk
Bankotsu's wary eyes narrowed as he stared first at the smirk on his boyfriend's face, then at the strawberry ice cream he was holding in one hand and the mischievous way Jakotsu was crawling towards him.
32 - Sorrow
"Mou~" Jakotsu whined, his face screwed up in sadness as tears began streaming down his cheeks. "You ate all the cookies!"
33 - Stupidity
Jakotsu wasn't stupid; he was silly, but not stupid, and yet he'd managed to make the stupidest mistake, one that would seal his fate for all eternity: he'd fallen for Bankotsu, his oo-aniki, the leader of the Shichinintai, and the man who would never look at him with nothing but friendship, and this one little mistake would be Jakotsu's undoing.
34 - Serenade
Bankotsu's face, much to his horror, turned a very bright as he (and his classmates) stared at the senior standing in the courtyard below their seventh period English Lit class, singing an incredibly sexy rendition of 'Dreaming of You', and, as the whispers started, he couldn't help but hiss, "Jakotsu, what the fuck are you doing?!"
35 - Sarcasm
"Oh, yes, Mukotsu," Renkotsu said dryly as the other man peered at the trees in the direction the rather loud groans and moans were coming from. "Oo-aniki and Jakotsu are doing push-ups, alone, in the forest again."
36 - Sordid
"Okay, this whole sordid affair with Romeo and Juliet behind their parents' backs would be fascinating and all," Jakotsu said in a bored tone, resting his cheek on his hand and shooting Bankotsu a devilish look because, after all, the play was basically telling the story of their current situation, minus the dying, "If Juliet wasn't a girl."
37 - Soliloquy
"And then Lady Macbeth launches into this whole soliloquy about how she wants to be sexed up or unsexed or some shit like that and mmph-" Bankotsu was promptly cut off as Jakotsu pounced on him proceeded to demonstrate exactly why he was failing English.
38 - Sojourn
They stopped at a small inn that night but when they entered and saw all the cute young men, Jakotsu squealed, "It's like an all you can eat buffet!" and no one but the now-sulking man wondered why Bankotsu had angrily ordered that they keep moving and only sleep in secluded areas of the woods from that day forward.
39 - Share
"You're mine," Bankotsu whispered, voice firm and full of emotion as he tightened his hold on Jakotsu's waist, "And I won't share with anyone - especially not that stupid hanyou!"
40 - Solitary
Bankotsu clutched Jakotsu's in his hand tightly as he stared blankly at the ground, waiting for Renkotsu's impending arrival; this was it, the end of the Shichinintai-everyone was gone: Mukotsu, Kyokotsu, Genkotsu, Suikotsu and Jakotsu, gone by Inuyasha sword and finished by Renkotsu's hand, and it was this final thing that Bankotsu would never forgive.
41 - Nowhere
Jakotsu's chest rumbled as he chuckled and Bankotsu smiled sleepily and snuggled in closer, closing his eyes and knowing with the utmost certainty that there was nowhere he'd rather be than here.
42 - Neutral
Though Bankotsu's face remained devoid of emotion as he watched Jakotsu lead a blushing boy up the stairs and no doubt to the third floor Janitor's Closet, Suikotsu knew that Bankotsu was a lot more bothered by this than his neutral expression was letting on.
43 - Nuance
Bankotsu wrinkled his nose as he looked over his vocabulary list, calling over his shoulder, "What does 'nuance' mean?" and grinning as Jakotsu replied with an ever-so-knowledgeable, "Do I look like a fucking dictionary to you?"
44 - Near
Jakotsu was climbing closer and closer to him on the bed and Bankotsu couldn't help but sigh; so much for sitting down tomorrow.
45 - Natural
And then Bankotsu surprised himself by saying, "I love you, Jakotsu" as though it were the most natural thing in the world.
46 - Horizon
"We're going to sail away," Jakotsu whispered, his eyes wide and hopeful, "And we're gonna live together on the open seas, Bankotsu, where no one can ever bother us or glare at us just because we're in love."
47 - Valiant
Bankotsu was one of the bravest people he knew: so calm, so valiant, at times childlike, but always in a good way, always having a smile, a special smile, reserved for Jakotsu and Jakotsu alone.
48 - Virtuous
He was a good person, really, and he had nothing but the most noblest of intentions for his oo-aniki - intentions that would put Bankotsu through the most pleasurable hours of his life; oh, yes, Jakotsu was a saint.
49 - Victory
"Let's celebrate our great victory," Jakotsu said happily, looping an arm around Bankotsu's waist and leaning close, "By drinking lots of sake and getting really drunk!"
50 - Defeat
Jakotsu didn't even seem to be moving and he certainly hadn’t blinked in hours; instead he remained on his knees, staring blankly at the battle ground where the Shichinintai had just lost a battle, but, more specifically, at the very spot where Bankotsu's bloody and tattered body now lay swimming in a sea of blood that Jakotsu was, for the first time, horrified to see.
