Motion
The people around her were in constant motion- always moving, never slowing- but the first time he kissed her, time stood still.
Cool
Splashing water at him, Claire can’t think of a better way to cool down on a hot day than to go skinny dipping with Sawyer.
Young
Sawyer sometimes envies how young and oblivious to the world her infant is; then again, he also envies the fact that the baby gets to look at Claire’s bare breasts, no questions asked.
Last
He was the last person she ever thought she’d fall in love with on this island, but now that she has, she knows that he’s going to be the last man she’ll ever need to love.
Wrong
There was something so undeniably wrong about their relationship, but they were like two pieces of different puzzles that somehow fit together just right.
Gentle
Studying the red scratches that marked his body, he grinned at her naked form and stated, “So much for you being sweet and gentle.”
One
He soon found out that the one and only thing he hated about their relationship is that she asked him to change diapers… and he willingly obliged.
Thousand
There are a thousand reasons why they shouldn’t be together, but it’s only the few reasons why they should that are noticed.
King
And just when he thought he was king of the island; when he got cocky and was a smart-ass jerk, she would say something sweet, yet somehow biting, and take him down a notch.
Learn
And at the very moment she thought she had him figured out, he made some sarcastic remark that made her learn over again not to assume anything with him.
Blur
Her lost memories are all a blur, but she does remember looking up at him while he shifted nervously, wallets extended toward her in the first kind gesture he’s ever made.
Wait
She’s the first woman that’s ever asked him to wait, and surprisingly, he realizes he would gladly wait forever for her.
Change
She never asked him to change, and he loved that about her; he changed anyway, and she loved that about him.
Command
He loves it when they’re in a small tiff, and she throws out some command at him, her face red and scrunched with anger; and then, unable to resist, he always pulls her into his arms and all is forgiven.
Hold
She laughed at the way his eyes widened the first time she asked him to hold the baby, the fear and awe in his eyes magnified by those dorky glasses.
Need
“I need you,” he finally admits, just as she’s about to storm out of the tent, and the vulnerability in his voice when he says it is enough to make her stay.
Vision
She watches him as he naps, her son also asleep as he lays on Sawyer’s bare chest, and she wonders briefly if the psychic ever saw this in a vision of his.
Attention
He sits alone and watches her play in the sand with her son, eyes never leaving her form as she scoops Aaron up and lavishes him with kisses and giggles- he would give anything to have that kind of attention from her.
Soul
She speaks of soul mates, and he scoffs at the thought; she should know by now that he doesn’t have a soul.
Picture
She watches him as he holds her son, and if she could have one wish at this very moment, it would be for this picture to last forever.
Fool
She felt like such a fool for believing in Charlie that she vowed not to fall for any other man on this Godforsaken island; that is, until, the southern conman walked by for the fourth time that day without his shirt on….
Mad
There are times he makes her so mad she wonders why they’re together, and then, there are times so perfect that she wonders why they were ever apart.
Child
He’s reading to Aaron when he says his first word, “Dada,” and he realizes in that instant that this child is his, too.
Now
Now is not the best time for her to be falling for him, but it’s happening anyway, and she’s given up trying to stop it.
Shadow
His shadow falls over Claire as he comes up beside her, and she smiles and accepts when he offers her a plate of fish.
Goodbye
It was hard to say goodbye to him, but she did, because they both knew it wasn’t the end.
Hide
He found it surprising that he was unable to hide his true feelings around her, but it never really bothered him that he couldn’t.
Fortune
Hurley may have the fortune, Charlie may have the fame, Jack may have the career, and Locke may have the skills, but Sawyer has the blonde Australian beauty, and they all can’t help but be a little bit jealous of that.
Safe
“I feel safe with you, Sawyer,” she told him, and for once he felt like he had a purpose in life.
Ghost
Sometimes, when she’s really missing him, or something is going on with Aaron, she swears she sees his ghost out of the corner of her eye, watching over them both forever.
Book
She never thought she’d be the type to throw things, but when she nailed him in the head with his book after their last fight, she smiled in satisfaction.
Eye
It unnerved him that she always looked him right in the eye, because he could never be sarcastic or cruel to the owner of those bright blue orbs.
Never
It was funny how their relationship never made sense to anyone, not even them; but somehow, despite all that, no one ever doubted that it was real.
Sing
As his voice drawls on, she realizes her son has good taste; she would rather hear Sawyer read than Charlie sing any day.
Sudden
A southern drawl breaks through the wails of the tiny baby, reading from an old and worn out book; and all of the sudden, there is a silence from her son that Claire has not heard in days.
Stop
"Don’t stop,” she murmured as he planted kisses down her body, but stopping was the last thing on his mind.
Time
The rescue boat was finally here, and she was worried what would happen back in the real world; but then, he took her hand, and she realized she should have known after all this time that he wasn’t going to leave them, no matter where they were.
Wash
Frazzled from the baby crying and the numerous amounts of nappies she still has to wash, she almost plants one on Sawyer when he casually offers to watch Aaron for her.
Torn
He’s torn between the woman who is exactly like him and the woman who is nothing like him, and thinking about it now, he wonders when it was that Claire became more important to him than Kate.
History
After everything they’d been through, he was able to walk away from her and her son after the rescue without a single glance back; she should have know history would repeat itself.
Power
It took everything in his power to keep himself from beating the crap out of Charlie when he made Claire cry, but even so, Charlie ended up with a big black eye and a mouthful of sand.
Bother
“Don’t bother,” she says through her tears, and Sawyer wishes he could make her smile; that no good has-been was no reason for her to be crying.
God
He was never one to believe in God, but looking down at the blonde beauty asleep in his arms, he doesn’t know who else could have sent him such an angel.
Wall
She hates it when he acts like this; when this wall he’s built around himself won’t budge and they’re left staring at each other, with nothing else to say.
Naked
His eyes roam up and down her naked body, and he knows without a doubt that she is the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen.
Drive
He finds it funny that the only thing that can drive him absolutely crazy with desire on this island is watching Claire bend over as she fills up her water bottle.
Harm
He swore to her that he would always protect them from harm, and for the first time since crashing on this island, she felt her and her son were truly safe.
Precious
Sawyer had never used the word “precious” in all his life, but when holding her son in his arms, he can’t think of another word that fits.
Hunger
She spends her days with another man, he spends his nights with another woman; all the while they both pretend that they don’t hunger for something more.
Believe
She didn’t believe him when he said he loved her, but he didn’t believe her when she said it either; and that was fine with both of them, because they somehow worked, and that’s all that mattered.
