#01 - Comfort. Still weeping, Charlie pressed his face against Wonka’s shoulder, and Wonka stroked his hair, wondering how he of all people could possibly feel so helpless to comfort the boy.

#02 - Kiss. Wonka gasped as the child lifted onto his toptoes, brushing a chaste kiss against his cheek -- “Goodnight Mr. Wonka,” Charlie whispered, as he had to his mother and father, and then he was climbing up the ladder to his room.

#03 - Soft. Charlie had to admit as he drifted to sleep that pink wool did make an especially fluffy bedspread.

#04 - Pain. Charlie whimpered a little as the chocolatier pressed inside him, and Wonka lightly kissed the back of his neck, whispering, “relax -- it will only hurt for a minute.”

#05 - Potatoes: “But did you have to give them eyes?” Charlie asked, trying not to be unnerved as the chocolate potatoes stared at him.

#06 - Rain. Charlie pressed a hand to the rain-streaked glass and wished, just for a moment, that he were outside, where he could feel it.

#07 - Chocolate. “Close your eyes,” Wonka ordered, “and open your mouth,” and Charlie did so as the tast of warm chocolate trickled along his tongue.

#08 - Happiness. “You’re my best friend, Mr. Wonka,” Charlie confessed as they walked back to the cottage, and Wonka smiled shyly down at the swudge.

#09 - Telephone. “Wonka enterprises!” Charlie snapped, finally snatching up the receiver while Wonka watched him nervously, “this is Charlie Bucket -- what on earth do you want?”

#10 - Ears. “Wouldn’t you rather have one of the Oompa-Loompas do this for you?” Wonka asked, holding the needle in his gloved hand and trying not to shake as he studied the carefully marked “x” in Charlie’s tender earlobe.

#11 - Name. “Mr. Wonka!” Charlie gasped as the chocolatier’s warm mouth wrapped around him; irritation flashed in Wonka’s eyes as he pulled away -- he’d asked the boy to call him Willy.

#12 - Sensual. Charlie’s gaze swept the line of his body, and Wonka blushed as he slipped off his jacket, letting it fall to the floor with a quiet rustling of velvet.

#13 - Death. Charlie panicked as the light left his grandmother’s eyes; he turned and would have fled from the room, but gloved hands caught his shoulders and turned him around to face the body, while Wonka’s voice whispered in his ear, “this is life, Charlie -- this too is life.”

#14 - Sex. All in all, Wonka decided, it had been messy and slightly mortifying-- still, as Charlie mumbled happily in his sleep and pressed even closer against him, Wonka reflected that he wouldn’t mind trying it again.

#15 - Touch. “No,” Charlie whispered, catching Wonka’s wrist and stripping off his glove, while the chocolatier watched with almost terrified eyes, “I want you to touch me.”

#16 - Weakness. “All right,” said Wonka, “we’ll go to the park,” and he scowled as Charlie clapped his hands with glee.

#17 - Tears. Even as he kissed the teardrops from Charlie’s face, a part of Wonka’s brain was detatched enough to analyze the taste, which was salty, but rather intoxicating.

#18 - Speed. The elevator fell with a sickening plummet, and Charlie screamed while Wonka’s gleeful laughter filled the air.

#19 - Wind. “What do you think?” Wonkka asked, and as he flipped the switch, the wind died down around them.

#20 - Freedom. “Well of course you’re lonely,” Wonka said, looking surprised that Charlie had even mentioned it, “that’s the price you pay for freedom, my boy.”

#21 - Life. “But that’s what life is,” Charlie whispered, as they stared out at the city below, “it’s pain -- lots and lots of pain.”

#22 - Jealousy. Wonka took the cup of hot chocolate suspiciously, and Charlie laughed at his expression --”Yes, of course it’s yours; did you think I’d switch to Nestle?”

#23 - Hands. Nimble fingers worked the button of his trousers opened, and as they wrapped around him, Charlie decided that the latex wasn’t all that bad.

#24 - Taste. Gripping the bed railing like Wonka had ordered, Charlie shivered as gloved hands caught his cheeks, pulling them apart; Wonka’s nose nuzzled into the crack and Wonka’s tongue darted out, tasting him for the first time, and Charlie bit back a scream.

#25 - Devotion. Craning his neck, Charlie studied his own back in the mirror; the familiar Wonka W curled vividly there at the base of his spine in violet, surrounded on all sides by tender red skin.

#26 - Forever. “If you take this pill, you can be my age?” Charlie whispered, and Wonka nodded, his eyes serious in the lamp light.

#27 - Blood. “It’s bleeding,” Charlie said, holding up his finger -- he’d managed to keep his voice calm, but his lips trembled; taking the hand, Wonka lifted it to his lips and kissed it better.

#28 - Sickness. Wonka burned hot with fever, and sweat slicked his hair against his brow.

#29 - Melody. “Nobody ever sang me lullabies,” Wonka said sadly, pressing his face into the pillow . . . Charlie stroked his hair, silenced for a moment by tenderness, and then he started to sing.

#30 - Star. “Where are we going?” Charlie asked, gasping as weightlessness lifted them off their feet, but Wonka only smiled in response, as outside, the stars shot by around them.

#31 - Home. “I’ll come back,” Charlie whispered, “of course I’ll come back.”

#32 - Confusion. “Wait a second,” Charlie said, “how do you know what people taste like?”

#33 - Fear. “Do .. . do you think he’s going to like me?” Wonka asked, but the scratching of his therapist’s pen was his only answer.

#34 - Lightning/Thunder. Charlie closed his eyes as the yelling started, his mother’s fury clashing against Wonka’s clipped responses -- he already knew they’d be leaving the factory in the morning.

#35 - Bonds: Wonka strained against the leather straps holding him to the bed, and Charlie leaned over him, an expression of devilish delight on the face that Wonka had thought could only look innocent.

#36 - Market. “Here?” Wonka whispered, looking faintly awed, and Charlie led him to the precise spot where he’d opened the candy bar that held his Golden Ticket.

#37 - Technology. “Why on earth do we need a robotic Oompa-Loompa?” Charlie asked, and Wonka’s eyes sparkled as he started to explain.

#38 - Gift: Wonka turned the shapeless piece of fabric around and around in his hands while Grandma Georgina smiled on, until finally Charlie leaned close and whispered in his ear, “It’s a tea cozy.”

#39 - Smile. “Say ‘chocolate!’” Wonka instructed, holding up the camera, and Charlie grinned until his face hurt.

#40 - Innocence. “Have you done this before?” Charlie asked, fingering the button to Wonka’s pants, and the chocolatier only shook his head.

#41 - Completion. Wonka started down the corridor at a steady clip, and Charlie trotted after him, reaching to take Wonka’s gloved hand as they walked -- for a moment, a gentle smile broke the flow of Wonka’s chatter, and then he pressed on again, business as usual, while Charlie stroked his hand through the latex, listening to all the words he did not say.

#42 - Clouds. They’d moved higher now, and whisps of cotton candy pink surrounded them, breathtaking against the sunset.

#43 - Sky. “Here,” Wonka said, “I’ll let you drive,” and Charlie’s heart swelled as he studied the wall of buttons.

#45 - Hell. “Don’t be a scaredy-cat, Charlie,” Wonka said, as he pointed towards the tattooed Oompa-Loompa, “Bob here knows exactly what he’s doing.”

#46 - Sun. Wonka glanced downward, demure and mysterious, but Charlie’s fingers caught his chin and tilted his face back into the light.

#47 - Moon. “I should have told you,” Wonka said, “I go a little funny during certain times of the month,” and even as Charlie watched, sharp claws sprouted through the latex fingers of Wonka’s gloves.

#48 - Waves. "Yeah," echoed Charlie, whose face was pointed towards the waves, but whose eyes strained to catch every detail of the man beside him --those hands, clasped almost primly on the striped handle of his cane, the smooth line of his jaw, the trace of a smile beneath the shadow from his hat -- "It's very beautiful."

#49 - Hair. “Just trust me,” Charlie said, steadying the scissors in his hand, and Wonka nodded, gripping the chair arms hard enough to leave fingerprints.

#50 - Supernova: Charlie bit into the chocolate and moaned as taste exploded across his tongue in a supernova of sensation.
