Christmas Alone - Spainsh Thoughts

Also, I am alone, but the loneliness is not complete - for the air I breathe is that of Spain, and of Ronda, and my god - no one I know is as lucky as I am at this moment. It may be chilly, wet, damp, and lonely, but the beauty that is around me is the only kind that I truly need. I wonder, do the people of this country know the beauty that lays ( Read more... )

Yeah it´s just simply gorgeous here, I mean sure, I´ve been all over the States, most of Canada, a good bit of Central America etc - but really, here is one of the most simply lovely places I´ve ever been. Including the people, they´re just so.... sweet! And kind, I don´t think I´ve met a kinder set of people culturally anywhere. At least in Andalucia. Southern Spain is very different from the north end of things as I understand it (includin´the lingo - in the south you say "bueno diah, como ehtah" rather than "buenos dias, como estas", which doesn´t sound like it´d be that big of a jump, but at the speeds the accent is kinda hard to deal with at first).
Sooo how is you? Anythin´interestin´goin´on in the star state? Other than it bein´colder than a well digger´s asshole? (According to mom, San Antonio is cold as all get out)

I am envious of you and your travels. <3 Your mom is right. It has been ungodly cold, but it's free cold air in Texas so I've been sleeping with my window open every friggin night. XD Other than that, not too much. Same old shit. <3 Glad you posted!

i'm happy that you are finding peace in spain, there is just nothing that compares to Europe at times. I am jealous of the amazing amounts of history and architecture you must be seeing. Glad that you haven't dropped off the face of the earth.

Enjoy your trip.

I'm traveling on foot through the city most days, or on bus, and it's hard to look around, but when I was driving (in a manual car that I had no clue how to drive really - I hadta teach myself stick from watchin' videos - how crazy is that?) the way things are set up you can only watch the road. Or you'll get in a massive wreck. It's not like American cities where the roads are a little friendlier to drivers, and all the signs here are pedestrian friendly (if there are any) and the lights are all cockamame, and damn. No one can drive. You've got the Brits who forget to drive on the correct side of the road, you've got the Germans who want to speed, the Italians who just DON'T have a clue how to work any sort of heavy machinery (at least the ones here), and then there's the Spaniards. There's three sorts of Spanish drivers ( ... )
