Wow. That is seriously wide!

Ok, now you can REALLY play with perspective... how about some shots from a rooftop, or maybe putting the camera right down on the pavement for the ant's-eye perspective.... it might be cool!

Possibly. The first corner is really hard for options since my back is to a gas station. Not exactly the safest place for me to be crawling around on the floor to get the shot.

Yeah, I had been going back and forth for a while as to whether or not I actually needed a wide angle lens, and I really just found myself too often going, damn, if I could only get a bit wider.

Do you watch the forums over on dpreview? Dell has been runing special promos with stackable coupons. I don't remember which site I got this one off of but sometimes you can find them at Tech Bargains. Anyway, I got the lens for $604.50, no shipping, no tax.

Just curious which lens did you get? That is a neat perspective.

Yeah, I was pretty lucky, and not just for the price. They had such a rush on orders that they won't be able to fill them all and a lot of people are now on back-order waiting for the next shipment. In general this is becoming a very hard lens to find.

I went to buy the hood for it on Monday when I picked up one for my 28-105 and the store was completely sold out.

the wideness is awesome. Where'd you get the lens from?

Dell online. They were 15% off and I had a stackable coupon. Don't remember the site. If you watch Tech Bargains they've been poping up there though. I had heard about this deal two weeks ago and watched for the next time, got the lens for even less than the previous sale + stackables.

Yeah, that's what everyone keeps saying, the lens is the last place to skimp. I actually got the money for this from selling my 300D, plus I was lucky and caught a sale + stackable coupon and got it for significantly less than what most are listing it at.
