It was mid afternoon on a warm summer's day, and the grounds were lovely. Days like this reminded him of his childhood. The good parts. The parts where he and Raven would go out on the morning and not come back until the sun was down, spending the day, playing, experimenting with their still developing abilities and talking about the future. Never once had they come up with something close to how it actually went

Omg. This is astonishing. The nitty-gritty details, the consequences and repercussions, the hugeness and weight of everything and how more keeps coming, more discoveries and reminders, more/changing responses and reactions -- it's so layered and dense and real, and hugely powerful because of this. I was transfixed by the truly fascinating prompt, and your amazing fill is more than doing it justice. Thank you. Thank you so much.

I love that Erik acknowledges his own arrogant feeling that he could handle disability better than Charles, and I love the way he's learning differently. And Charles' response to the healing is lovely.
