Erik takes Charles out on a date. Problem is, he has no idea how to go about it and the kids take it upon themselves to help him out by giving him pieces of advice (and going as far as to stalk them on the actual date while whispering tips at Erik from bushes or when he goes to the bathroom and disregarding Erik's attempts to threaten them away).

Charles, of course, knows all of this and doesn't say anything (cause deep inside he's flattered and thinks it's incredibly sweet of them).

BONUS POINTS IF THE DATE ACTUALLY GOES WELL AND THE KIDS FINALLY LEAVE THEM ALONE.

THIS WAS SWEET AND ADORABLE AND MAKES ME WANT TO VOMIT RAINBOWS AND HAPPINESS. A disturbing image but never the less true.

Haha, thank you. Also, I just saw a gif of a person (well, a stick figure) vomiting rainbows somewhere on this meme and it was actually pretty fantastic.

So, this fic? Was adorable beyond the telling of it. Seriously - so frickin' adorable. To the point where I was giggling in numerous places as I read, despite the fact that I am currently sitting in a public space.

Anyway, my embarrassingly gleeful reactions to this story aside, I was wondering... would it be alright with you if I made a podfic of "Date Night"? (Podfic = books-on-tape for fanfic, should you be unfamiliar with the term) I pinky-swear that I will not deliberately mispronounce anything, and I'll be sure to give you authorial credit. I'll link back to the text so that people can read your awesome work of fantasticness (or, if you re-post this fic to your personal journal, I'll link back there) - and I'll be sure to send you a link to the finished podfic. Pretty please? It'll be such a fun time for everyone, I swear...and, the rest of the podfic-listening internet needs more XMFC stories to listen to!

Thanks for the kind comment! Sadly, this is my only X-Men fic for the moment, but I think I've written awkward dating fic in several other fandoms too, lol.

Oh, god, I will just imagine Erik made such a promise and kept it.

This was so sweet and funny! And like Erik, I am just about flailing at the image of Charles in Erik's jacket.

Oh. I never knew how much I needed this in my life. I was constantly caught between giggling like a 5 year old with a sugar rush, or just plain shrieking at the epic freaking cuteness of it all. I loved this. So very, very much.

This...was so hilarious and so well written with all the characters in character with their various antics, speeches and overall behavior.

In other words, I AM GRINNING LIKE A MANIAC AND AM INCONSPICUOUSLY USING A HANDKERCHIEF TO HIDE IT SO MY MOTHER DOES NOT THINK ME AS CRAZY :)

Thank you SO much for this wonderful fic and lovely piece of entertainment! I LOVE humorous snippets of Erik/Charles and you have fulfilled my expectations perfectly :) Seriously, I cannot stop grinning. And yeah, go Mr Lensherr!
