Words hurt. Being called "bozo" or "bigfoot" hurts. Having to hide who you are truly are because other people and you really but you don't think about that find you repulsive hurts.
Can I have Hank pre!Beast body issues? Because I'm a sucker for angst and even "friendly" name calling can be alot more painful than being punched in the face. I'm open to all pairings, but Alex/Hank is my favourite - idk, maybe he finds out how hurt he was by the name-calling?

Hank's books are lying on the floor; Alex is rubbing at his shoulder.
Hank's glasses have fallen off. "I can't see," he says, but Alex isn't listening. When his fingers close around the frames: there is a crack going down the thick lenses.

You say you haven't seen the film yet? I really, really commend you for getting the tone and everything spot on. As someone who was verbally abused for many years at School for being different, I just want to tell you that this is amazing, and all I want to do is to hug Hank and never ever let go because this is now my head!canon and this was a beautiful fill, anon. And I'm sorry about your experience with bullying in school. I know how cruel kids can be and I'm sorry you had to go through that. I've never been verbally bullied, not really; they've never said anything to me. But that's the thing, they never said anything to me at all, and just made me feel like an outsider. (Apparently sharing your life story over the Internet is in these days, lol.)

Been there, done that-- both sides, oddly enough. The well-meaning kind, from me, of course, because I know how much it sucks when it's intentional, but basically this happened and I felt like the biggest dick on the planet :/
