Somehow, maybe due to an encounter with a mutant that has the ability to do so, Erik and Charles swap bodies. Can Erik deal with the sudden onslaught of other people's inner most thoughts? Then there's trying to keep his own mind in check, so he doesn't go projecting images and what not all over the place, as well. Maybe Charles finds the entire experience absolutely fascinating, and can't wait to give metal manipulation a go.

Just run with it, anon. Whether or not they can deal with their temporary new powers is really up to you. I'd love it if the whole ordeal brings them closer together.

Oh, goodness, I would bet that while Charles would be fascinated by his new power, he would not be able to handle losing his telepathic abilities. His reaction might be anywhere from irritation to rage to full-on nervous breakdown...

This is perfect. I love how cheerful Charles is about this, whereas all Erik receives in return is a headache from everybody else's thoughts. Can't wait to see more of this!

Three days in and it was still impossible to get used to someone else’s face looking back at Charles from the mirror, as he brushed his teeth. Erik had a great set of teeth, an orthodontic marvel of sorts. Proper care was needed, he was feeling self conscious about this body and wanted to return it in good condition, like a tenant desperate to get his deposit back from the landlord.

This led to all sorts of complications, like getting dressed with his eyes shut, as he wasn’t sure if it was proper to see Erik naked, despite currently being 'inside' Erik, which led to mismatched socks, and boxer shorts worn inside out.

Showers had evolved into a complex ritual of jumping around in embarrassment, swinging a luffa like a maniac and hoping it would make accidental contact with parts than needed cleaning, and magically clean them, without any conscious involvement from his side. Erik was hopefully not eavesdropping on Charles’ daily monologue of Oh, no, bad touch! But I must rinse my back! It’s not your own back, you pervert, don’t ( ... )

Oh my gd this is fracking awesome. Charles all careful not to look at Erik's body, gleefully unscrewing bookcases and enjoying a bit of a break from other peoples' minds, while poor Erik is forced to listen in on his ridiculous, hilarious stream of thought.

I burst out laughing at the end of this chapter.

I love this story so much!!
