AU where everyone’s born Dominant or Submissive

Once a Dominant and Submissive pair is born, they are linked to each other, no matter how far apart they are. This link doesn’t actually tell the Dom or the Sub each other’s thoughts, but it does allow them to know how the other’s doing and serves as a reassurance that there’s someone meant for them out there.

Another one of the reasons that Erik hates Shaw so badly is because Shaw managed to break Erik’s link to his Sub. Now Erik doesn’t even know if his Sub’s alive because breaking a link like that can kill a Submissive.

Meanwhile, Charles hates himself for not yet having telepathy strong enough to contact and help his Dom, especially after feeling the pain his Dom was forced to go through. He truly believes that his Dominant is dead. Hopes it, some nights when he remembers how his Dom was forced to suffer. It’s better than to think of his Dom still being forced to bear that pain.And then Charles pulls Erik from the water ( ... )

For some reason when you said "she" for Raven I thought Emma, cuz that would be so hot. But then I remembered Irene.

I could quote back at you all of my favorite parts of this fic, but I would be reposting the entire fic, so I'll just let you know that the entire thing is my favorite part. I am so thankful that you wrote this. I am literally in tears from how beautiful it is, from the separation, to them thinking the other was dead, to their reunion, God. It was- it was- It was perfect, and I can't think of a better way to describe it. Thank you so much for filling my prompt for such a wonderful fic!

oh, I feel so happy for them! :D
so many fics like this end with the angsty beach divorce so I'm kind of glad you finished this one with such a sweet, happy note.

OMG that was so... heartbreaking and then so sweet and the reunion was so beautiful and perfect and my heart is too full right now. *throws love all around*

Also, totally agree with the comment above stating this should have a sequel. I'm dying to know all the fabulous writing you'd do about it, how you would approach more of this universe. Gah, pretty please ? If ever you're like 'pfah, I don't know what to do today...' you can just go like 'oh yeah ! I'm gonna write a sequel to that awesome fic I wrote once.' ^^

Awwwww.....I almost cried, about half a dozen times. In part 7 I actually did cry. Charles crying as he said "I've got you" just did it. I was a mess. This was beautiful, thank you so much!
