Charles or Erik being a father figure to Alex

I don't know what the hell this movie's idea of canon is regarding the Summers family, but I'm going to go ahead and assume it's similar to the comics with Alex and Scott surviving a plane crash and then the two being split up. I'd love to see Alex and Erik bonding over their similar losses or maybe Charles and Alex talking about Scott.
