There is light. There is light and he needs-
To homo neanderthalansis his mutant cousin homo sapien was an aberration.

“Charles.”

Raven wants to hear his thesis. Raven is his sister, his sister he found in his kitchen wearing his mother’s skin. His mother, he hasn’t thought of his mother in ages, where is she now? He wants to stretch out and feel her mind, but he can’t, can’t do anything, but cry and scream and bleed and oh yes, he’s gotten very good at bleeding, he’s practiced quite a bit. He’s always been a good study, such good grades and he’s a professor now and -

“Charles, look at me.”

Charles opens his eyes and closes them and opens them again. He can feel the floor beneath his back and it is cold and when he looks up, he sees the blurry halo of fluorescent lights and there is a face, a face with a name that he knows, yes he knows -
“Erik.”
The face shifts. Charles feels the ripple of reliefconcernragelovehurtshame and flinches. Erik is talking now, but Charles finds it hard to focus on what isn’t being said instead. Erik ( ... )

Oh my fucking god, this is glorious. This prompt was just begging to be written, with so much promise, and if this part was any indication, this is going to be stupendeously fantastic. Thank you, thank you, thank you for picking this up!

Oh my gods, this is perfect. I love how you've captured the River frame of mind and translated it beautifully to Charles, and it is just seamless and perfect, and I am avidly looking forward to the rest of this. ♥
