GEN Team Being Protective and Teamy

All throughout the movie, Charles is helping everyone else--either in controlling their powers or accepting themselves or, hell, just letting them stay in his Mansion of Gigantic Hugeness. Obviously, they all appreciate how trusting and supportive he is.
(I find kind, helpful guys hot. But...I find kind, helpful whumped guys even hotter.)
So, can anon write a story (sometime before the end of the movie) wherein they're fighting some random baddies and they're mostly losing until the bad guys hurt Charles. Cue the entire team getting all "Oh, Hell, No!" protective and the curb stomping is EPIC.
Bonus McAwesome if Charles is surprised to find they care that much and actually has to reign some of them in (okay, Erik) before the city is demolished or something.

I'm such a huge fan of this dynamic! Where the people are bound, not by blood, but by friendship, loyalty and love. And it's a family of their choosing, not one they were just born into. Love it! So definitely seconding this prompt. And y'all can take your bad boys, I'll take a kind, helpful guy any day of the week.

This prompt is awesome, and contains everything I love. <3
I will totally attempt to fill this and do it justice (fight scenes aren't my strong point, but it'll be awesome practice), if some kind people will help me brainstorm what enemies the team is fighting.

I've got no ideas which enemies to suggest, but here is a giant list of (some) of the enemies the X-Men have come up against over the years. Something on here might spark an idea!

a/n: lady_insanity, I really hope you fill this too. I normally wouldn't drop in on a prompt someone else was writing, but I started writing a couple days ago on it and forgot to leave a note I was. The more the merrier, though! I look forward to reading your take on it. also: character limits. :/
together an ocean
Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean. -Ryunosuke Satoro“We’re going to take a field trip,” Charles says brightly at the beginning of week four in his huge mansion, and everyone sitting at breakfast pauses and looks at him, Sean still shoveling food into his mouth. (He says the constant screaming required to maintain flight leaves him constantly hungry

Later, when Erik is done with breakfast, he heads upstairs. Predictably, Charles is in his study, crosslegged on the floor in the middle of piles of papers
