Chapter 16

I believe that some of the residents of the city have expressed an interest in the tarot. I am pleased to say that a particular book has decided to make it's presence known (by unceremoniously dropping itself on my head). And what do you know, it has it's own set of cards as well.

This concept of 'tarot' strikes me as very interesting. I may come to look at these cards later.

Thank you for mentioning them, Lucien.

You're welcome, Ptolemy. Will you be needing any assistance as to, um, arriving here?

How are you? I believe you were visited by an... odd entity some days ago? In the peak of the heatwave?

[ooc: ... talking about Delirium XD]

Thank you, but I believe I will be able to get to the library without trouble.

...She called herself Delirium. I thought her the product of my own mind, given how tired I was.

How did you know?

Ah, because she wasn't a product of your tired mind.

I once told you that I am the librarian of the Dreaming, didn't I? The master of the Dreaming is my master, Lord Dream. The Lady Delirium is his youngest sister.

The delirious thoughts of those who were affected by the extreme heat drew her to them, including you.

I was never a good fortune teller, Lord Lucifer. This library, like the one back home, seems to have a life of it's own.

Not particularly fond of these?

It has its uses. But only if they do not exceed their function.

Tell me, librarian, what knowledge does your book offer?

As I have said, I am no fortune teller, but I shall see what the book says.

Think you could do a spread for me?

I'm afraid I'm not the one to approach for those kinds of things. I'm just a mere librarian. I believe there are others here that could do that for you, but I'm afraid I do not know who those individuals are.

Forgive me...

That's fine. I just assumed that you knew how to do a spread when you mentioned tarot cards.

My apologies.

No, that is an oversight on my part. I guess I should have read further into the matter when I announced this over the network.

But I will search for someone who can do a spread for you, then I will contact you, um, your name?
