These are a few of my favorite images of Kali. The second one is my favorite because Siva's eyes are open. What this implies to me is that Siva is aware and has complacently accepted the surrounding violence, destruction, death, and suffering. I find a lot of comfort in that. I don't know if it's a realistic goal but that would be a sublime life!

Why are there so many blue people in Indian art? I have a book about Pakistan out from the library and the cover shows a painting of a general on a blue horse. WHY THE BLUE???
