I started managing again recently.

I've found that the way I think is dramatically different from when someone else is managing me. I'm surprised people don't write about this more.

I think the main thing I realized while managing shitty delivery drivers and excellent delivery drivers alike was...its surprisingly hard/tiresome/stressful to have to tell people to do stuff you know they don't want to do.

For me, the biggest change in going from being managed to being a manager was how I looked at performance appraisals/feedback.
