Ok..........August has NOT been my month.  NOT AT ALL!!!  Bring on September PLEASE!!!

Well, after my last entry that told of my lovely fall that split open my chin (which is healing nicely, by the way!)------I got in a car accident last Saturday.  A college kid from Florida that was visiting Nashville blasted through a red light and hit my new, ( Read more... )

Katrina is not a 4-letter word! mama_thang August 31 2005, 23:43:41 UTC
I thought about the irony a few days ago, Hurricane Katrina unmercifully striking her own home state. Knowing my Katrina as a wonderfully kind, gentle, soft spoken and compassionate lady, then hearing about her totally opposite namesake, Hurricane Katrina, the irony was staggering ( ... )

Thanks Mom for the sweet words!

Yes, the horrors of New Orleans situation and the impact on the nation in general have had me transfixed. I feel that looting and surviving are two VERY different things. If you are taking TVs and VCRs ........you are looting............if you are taking food and bottled water or juice or whatever..........that is surviving. I think MOST people would be driven to the point of survival.....but violence or taking advantage of the situation are not acceptable.

There are some possibilites that I am going to be able to work with some of the child survivors that have arrived in Nashville.........so I hope that is ONE way that I can start to help on a more personal level.

Muwahh! I always love your comments!

Wow, I have once again read your inspiring words and am amazed at your articulate inspiration that you get from a devastating hurricane which carried your name and then make something positive out of it, as you have begun to do and I am sure will continue to do. I am one who was SO VERY concerned about your Grandparents safety and was so very pleased to hear they were watched over by God's hand. When I have responded to you before I have always responded "anonymous", but I ran across your site back some time ago and I am always inspired with your writing. This is Deborah, "BLW's" Deborah....I have said prayers for your Grandparents until I knew that they were fine and I continue to stay positive along with you that you will do GREAT things in "your name Katrina"...if any one can it will be you! also I love reading the comments from "mom", they are always so caring & smart, what a lady she must be! o.k. now that I have told you who this is, if you need anything on this end in Kennesaw just let me know. You know how to reach me!! Keep ( ... )

Girl! You are just TOOOOO awesome!

Yes, my family is fine from the storm, but I had to remind them to be more aware and to stay safe in this time of desperation. They are in their eighties and live in a small town where you don't lock your doors.......that might change some now.

Sweet Deborah, thanks so much for stopping by to read my babble and more importantly to leave comments. I HAD NO IDEA THAT IT WAS YOU!! hhehe!

Yes, I had a bad month. But, things like the hurricane can keep all of it in perspective for me. I am slowly on the mend and I will BE SURE to keep my chin up!!! haha!

Yes, "MOM" rocks! She is an awesome lady that I met some years ago that has stepped up to the challenge of keeping me centered----lordy! Poor her!

Anyway.....come up and visit anytime and good luck with you and BLW's new business opportunity!! You guys are so great together. And, I have always been SOOOO thankful he found you!!!!

That is awful sweet of you to say such kind words towards me, I am sure greatful to have stumbled across his path & I "hope" he is o.k. with it too (ha-ha) ya know some days are better than others! The stress of the business is tough but we will get through it & I hope to pull out of some business debt when we open the "House Of Rock". BLW is under SO MUCH stress right now and so covered up with his schedule but we keep going everyday and that is all we can do, so enough of that! On the subject of "anonymous", I am not all of them just some in the past, but on a serious note your writing does inspire those who read....ex; the boy who worked at Burger King WOW what a reminder for us all. I will ask my mom the name of a book (true testimonial) of a guy that went around for years telling his story of his numerous handicaps and one of them was his ability to speak well, his testimony was titled..."shut-up & quit Bell-wee-akeng"!, he is hilarious and shares a wonderful story. I will find out his name, I know that you will enjoy!, so again ( ... )
