I have been lurking but feel I should be polite and introduce myself. I have been on LJ since 2003 and made some amazing friends here. Most are now very infrequent posters which makes my friends feed feel rather empty.

I'd really like to add you. I LOVE books, I just returned from Vegas and I am going back to Edinburgh next year because it's my favorite place on earth!! :)

What did you think of Vegas? Was it a first trip?

I have to admit I am very fond of Edinburgh where is so much here to enjoy.

Thanks! We really liked Vegas. My husband had a convention and I tagged along. My grandma took me there for my 21st birthday but a lot has changed since then. This was hubby's first experience. We didn't get a lot of sightseeing in this trip but we plan on going again next year! I hope you liked it!

My friend and I are going to London for two weeks and taking a day trip to Edinburgh next year. It won't be enough time but I was there about 10 years ago and I want her to at least see the castle and palace!

I agree from what I was told on the tour buses lots have changed in the last 10 years or so.

A day trip to Edinburgh from London is rather rushed. I would suggest you fly up rather than take the train if possible just so you have more time up here. I think the Palace has more to offer than the castle and will probably be a bigger surprise for your friend.
