I thought Germany is a pretty safe place to live and raise children ... until today

What happend today in that small town in Baden-Wuerttemberg is making me unbelievably sad. How is a 17-year-old able to do these things... killing people just like that, seemingly without the slightest hesitation, without mercy. What was going through his head when he did that? So many people's lives have been destroyed and I do not only think of ( Read more... )

Someone right here in the northern part of the state where I live killed, I believe, 10 or 11 people yesterday. His wife, her family, strangers picked at random - then killed himself. What drives someone to do that??? I simply do not get it either.

I saw that, too, on CNN. That's so horrible!!

Our laws for the possession of a weapon are much much stricter than in the USA. But the parents of the 17-year-old had 18 of them in their house?! I don't understand how they could own so many weapons, and obviously they were not secured in a sufficient way. With a child or teenager at home you shouldn't store weapons in the house at all, imo.

people do such horrible acts and each time I am shocked to the core at the easiness with which this is done. Everything that makes us human like rational thinking, love and compassion seem to have been erased from the murderers mind. And that's indeed very scary.

Strangely, my first thought was about you when I heard this news. Yes, this is a pretty fuck-up world we are living in. I suppose no-one knows why this shit happens again and again and again…

yes, fucked-up indeed ...
and if they knew how to prevent things like that they wouldn't happen.

I saw a picture of the mass murderer today, and he looked so ... normal!? like any 17-year-old. The whole thing is just incomprehensible to me.
Sometimes I wish we could travel back in time and undo some things, make them right again.

Apparently, the appearance is something you can not trust. I’m surprise too that all those murderers and rapist looks pretty normal on photos. Just common people, nothing exceptional. I’m not talking about horns and hoofs but should not be some signs? What do you think? Perhaps, if you would talk with them maybe you would notice something strange. "puzzled"

Oh! If you ever find/invent time-machine put me on the list, please!! There are so many things I would like to change in my life and in the world that your time-machine will never be without work. *hugs*

I’m sorry I did not read your posting yet. Time is so crazy right now. I try to do that this week-end. *s*
